Qui-gon identified Anakin as a vergence in the force when he presented him to the Council in episode 1.

17:56 I disagree. I felt like Mother Aniseya invaded Torbin's mind for the sole purpose of getting him to resolutely come to his own decision, fueled by his state of eagerness, to leave Brendok and return home... be it convincing his Master Indara what not. Despite the invasion of privacy by creeping into one's mind to manipulate Torbin's dark side, Aniseya still sought a peaceful resolution to the conflict. Yes, she looked creepy when transforming to smoke, her motive was to deescalate the tension. Yet Sol saw her mysterious act as a threat. At the end of the day, the true enemy was misunderstanding.

24:10 Don't forget the fact that Mae told the Jedi that Mother Aniseya told Mae and Osha that everyone needs to walk through fear and sacrifice themselves for the coven. When Sol saw Mother Aniseya turn into a black cloud which also began to turn Mae into a black cloud freaked Sol the f' out--surely Mae said about sacrifice rang in his ears. Couple that with what happened to Torbin earlier and the revelation that Jedi of this era have had interactions with the Nightsisters. Mother Koril assumed an attack stance; Mother Aniseya turned into a black cloud; many other witches who had the high ground had their weapons drawn and at the ready. Yes, the Jedi trespassed, but they didn't come to fight. Sol had a second to process what was happening, and all signs pointed to the witches making the first move. Sol came to save the girls and Mae was literally disappearing before his eyes...so his noble intentions stepped up. 9:49 A few moments before the part picks up, one of the witches comments about Osha not being aware of her power yet. I think that explains why Osha was outside the compound at the Bunta tree. Helicopter mom, Koril, made Osha feel less than adequate. Mother Aniseya was more understanding, but we could see that she showered Mae with praise when Mae blocked her attack--Osha ran behind Mae for cover. Osha was at the Bunta tree because she wanted to hone her skills in private without her Mothers telling her what she's doing wrong and Mae showing her up. When Mae showed up what did she do? THE EXACT SAME THING OSHA WAS DOING, albeit with better control. This is why Osha stormed off and expressed wanting to be somewhere else, be something else. She wanted space from her sister and mother because they made her feel less than she was. What many people forget about all this is the fact that Sol got to see Osha distressed. This episode made a point to show us at least once Sol reached out in the Force to see what was going on with Mae, showing us that connection. Did Osha inadvertently reach out through the Force and connect to Sol? He was a different person at the start of the episode. He transformed the moment Osha expressed her interest to leave the cult. Did Osha's fear/anger allow her to tap into the Force and reach out for help? She is a witch, and while she thought she couldn't do what her mothers could do, she was being groomed to be like them. Qimir explained last episode that the Dark Side is another way to tap into the Force and in that moment 16 years ago, Osha likely did just that. Indara teased Sol about not having a padawan because of the way he is. She made him feel little in the moment, and that likely made him susceptible to manipulation too. Osha wanted to be something else, anything else that wasn't a witch, and Sol wanted a padawan. These two were drawn together by circumstances, and I think Osha may have inadvertently got Sol to come to her aid. I really like how this episode portrays both sides in a dark light. Both parental figures made some bad decisions that quickly spiraled out of control. What I worry about is how Osha will remember what happened! I think she's going to remember what she heard on the ship while unconscious, which isn't the whole story. She heard the cover-up! Mae got to hear the Jedi's side of the story, and she already knows her mother's side of the story since she was there. Does Mae see the Jedi differently now? Probably, though Sol still killed her mother and she saw that. What about Mother Koril? Will we see her next week? Is she Qimir's new master? Is she the one who sent Osha the vision in episode one? Qimir didn't do it!

The Jedi are the ones who literally broke into their home and wanted to take their children on so little information and speculation. So, Aniseya was literally just defending her family. And, I don't think the witches were trying to prevent the girls in a cultish way. I feel like they were just trying to protect the girls for the very reasons I stated in the beginning.

@@Midnight_7567 so can you explain in detail the way the twins were created? Or, for example, if you asked a random guy how did Palpatine came back to life right after having seen Episode 9, could he/she give you a clear explanation? It's not "spoon feeding", it's just explaining (by what characters say or do) clearly how things work, without explaining it afterwards in books, comics or interviews. There is a difference between doing speculations and inferences, and don't know what how things happened because it is not explained in literaly 7 episodes. A story can't be made up only of vague information and speculations. Disney (at least with Star Wars) is not able to write a story decently and you can watch many videos that say the same thing as I am now. This is my opinion. If you can explain me how essence transfer works IN THIS PRECISE CASE I'm glad to hear, because I didn't understand

@@mr.wooper6605 "cloning, dark science, secrets only the sith knew" a fair response from a faction that wouldn't know in truth but make a reasonable assumption. In truth we do know it's cloning involved and essence transfer but that's by the by. With osha and Mae sure we don't know the intricacies of how exactly she manipulated the force to do that but why is that necessary to know the intricacies of, we've already had the plaeguis tale of manipulating medichlorians to create life in episode 3, now largely a variation of that I think is what's happened here. It's something the jedi would want to know sure, but it's not what we should be wanting to focus on and the jedi in a random about way gave a theory to an extent on what could've caused, it is even stated that they are artificial. The focus of this episode was more on the ramifications of what went on, why the show has gone the direction it has with the story for the pov of the characters and we got that

@@mr.wooper6605 and with regards to essence transfer that's an old power from legends as well, however we won't know if that's exactly what mother anaseya was going to do because sol killed her, but by seeing Mae starting to disappear and become smoke when her mother does, that gives me reason to think something along that vein. It is also on wookieepedia or it should be anyway, palpatines been doing it a fair amount in legends, though the witches possessing kelnacca is a different thing but still uses black smoke to disappear, at the of the day, visual thing designed to look ominous and bad to suggest a bad thing may happen that's media literacy

Carrie (Indara) is doing the damage control for other screwed up things. Also other sus individuals in the order that may be the formation of the original Knights of Ren. Listen to the music. Qimir is the OG Ren. This also fixes the Last Jedi Story Arc. I also think that Qimir was a bad batcher that was a failed padowan of Vanestra. The vergance is a pocket of force energy when the planets align. It’s how the night witches tapped into the force like the Jedi.

@@JediJiveAcolyte all-flashback episode 7 was very good. I liked the references to the hyperspace catastrophe that wiped out life on some planets; of which in the last episode Jedi master Vernestra has pain/nausea from traveling through hyperspace due to her strong connection to the force. The fact that Sol was an emotional Jedi like Dooku, Anakin and Quigon Jinn was seen in quite a big way. The turn of the plot, who is responsible for the death of the entire Clan of these Witches who follow the path of Bogan = Darkness in magic, they were quite similar to the Witches of the Sisterhood of the Night from Dathomir, where Darth Maul also comes from. The fights were great, the choreography was great and seeing two Jedi fight against a possessed Wookie Jedi was great. But most of all, normally, just like Mother Cora, I felt this emotional pain in my heart. When Sol killed her partner, co-mother of two children and the love of her life, mother Aniseya, in front of her eyes. The destruction reminded me of something similar to when the Jedi destroyed the entire planet of Korriban, where the original Sith race came from.

I think Mother Aniseya needed some kind of consent before controlling Torbin physically. This caused Torbin's later action because he didn't just want to go home; he was also upset that his mind had been taken over earlier. Also, Indara had markings on her face, and she knew about the difference between witches, so I thought she might also be a witch.

Hey guys this episode was ok i feel like we still did not get some questions i wanted answered from this moment in time, and doubt we will get it in next weeks episode ! but what a bad ass fight with Kalnacca (you would not want a possessed wookie jedi coming after you in a dark alley 😂 I believe in the moment that that Mother Anysia used the nightmother magic (the way we saw mother talzin use it in the clone wars) Mother Anysia was transforming to move towards Mae to protect her, thats why Mae was in mid smoke form in that moment, when Sol was unsure of Anysias intention he raised the ligthsaber to stab her. anyways cool reaction guys . it was missing a few things for me this week but next week will be interesting. Wow have to say I completely disagree with you about Anasee. She’s not a bad person at all. She was just using her powers for defense. The Jedi literally broke into their home. Just because she used manipulation and what is perceived as dark side powers, remember there isn’t light or dark side to their covenant just power. You know in certain areas that if someone was to break into a persons house they don’t leave that house alive. At least she didn’t cause harm to Torbin. Just wanted to find information she needed to get leverage over the Jedi to leave. And while what Indara did was terrible it was only an responsive action due to Sol and Torbin’s reckless behavior If anything Anasee and Indara were proven in this episode to be the only real adults in this incident.

Really enjoyed this episode and had a similar reaction to you. Loved the overall themes of everybody battling with their own demons, and that moral grey area does give a great playground for storytelling and discussion. Like you I also questioned some things like what exactly was Mother Aniseya trying to do before she was killed, why was Sol so emotionally attached, why was Torbin so fixated on leaving the planet... but in the end, I'm not sure it completely matters. I'm ok with some of the details being left up in the air, leaving things open to interpretation for us to make our own assumptions. Everybody is flawed in their own ways. Knowing the Mother was trying to be protective is enough for me, and misunderstandings happen when tensions are high as you mentioned. Jedi craving emotional attachment or personal desires within a rigid order is completely understandable, and the degree to which each Jedi feel it will differ depending on their own personality and their own (unknown) backstories and upbringings. Perhaps this vergeance on Brendok is tinged in more of the dark side too, causing those feeling to be amplified. Who knows, and to me it doesn't really matter. There are lots of ways for these personal choices to make sense, and telling a story doesn't mean having to always spell out every detail. Lots of questions answered, still many left up in the air. Hopefully they stick the landing. This episode gave me a lot of satisfaction, and gives me hope they will finish strong.

Mother Aniseya and Mother Koril are good examples of selfless love vs Selfish love. In the end, Mother Aniseya let her child decide their own future, let them go. Mother Koril imposed her will on her children's future and refused to let them leave. Koril also acted the most rashly of the two, avoiding a number of opportunities to de-escalate the situation. In an alternate universe Master Indara and Mother Aniseya sit down and discuss Osha's future and we avoid this entire unfortunate incident.

Right. Why was Torbin so consumed with guilt to the point he took poison willingly? He was defending himself against a mind-controlled Kelnacca. This didn't make sense. And what was Mother Aniseya trying to do when she turned into smoke? The mind manipulation with Torbin also seemed out of place.
@danielmurdock9355
@danielmurdock9355 22 дня назад
Torbin realized that his selfishness and desire to return to Coruscant instead of completing the “boring” possibly not significant mission, led to the deaths of the entire coven, caused his master to murder dozens of people to stop Kelnacca, and led Sol to stab Mother Anisaya because he was already on high alert trying to manage the emotions of Torbin and keep him from starting a fight, when Mae ran in shouting about the fire and caused her mother to move to help, which he misinterpreted as an attack. His selfish actions led to Sol and Indara murdering unarmed people.

Mother Koril's fate is left a little up in the air (which I don't mind at all!), but I think the most likely explanation is that she also perished with the rest of the coven. She was part of the many controlling Kelnacca, and when Master Indarra broke that connection (did she purge their collective consciousness, destroying them in the process?) it's very likely Mother Koril suffered the same fate as the rest.
