I like even more how the media is trying to tell us the show is a success and yet disney already cancelled season 2 and everything they planned to do with these characters. Sounds like a success to me!
I try not to be a cancel person, but considering the disgusting, horrific crimes of Ms Leslye Headland, it's hard to imagine watching anything she was a part of.
A good saying "Disney the more you clamp down legitimate fans, the more fans will slip through your fingers". With the current people in charge of Disney/Hollywood I don't think anything will change. Great video as usual.

I can DEFINITELY show "review praisings," for instance ANY 10/10 review as it is objectively clear thst nobody with even a TINY amount of honesty, or brain matter, could EVER think that this bloody abortion of a show is perfect.
As a child of the 80s I can assure you there were a lot of really, really bad TV shows and movies. The only difference is that now, there is a media machine to try to convince you the crap is good. To me, that's the cardinal sin people are really reacting negatively to. You can make crap, just don't tell me it's not junk and that I am the problem. I think that's what changed. Sort of similar to you're observation that they pat themselves on the back.
The issue with modern metrics is that they don't use any consistent standards anymore. Nielsen for example used to use overall views while Netflix uses watched minutes. Then all of a sudden, Disney started using views because it favored their numbers. It's effectively the "there's no such thing as bad press" trying to be made practical.
Remember when Ralph Nader criticized GM's design of the Chevy Corvair in his book 'Unsafe at Any Speed', and GM WASTED MONEY hiring private investigators to find blackmail information on Nader, and to defame the critic, instead of on FIXING ITS PROBLEMS? American businesses keep repeating the EXACT SAME MISTAKES that drove American customers to foreign businesses that made and still make what customers want and need- to European and Asian car companies in Nader's time, to European and Asian film and TV studios (including anime studios) now. GM never recovered the market share it lost to European and Japanese competitors then; Disney will never recover the market share it lost to European and Asian competitors now.
The insanity of it all. People have been shown to be very easy to sway, but only in the direction they already want to go. And only so much. They can't typically be told that something that emotionally affected them is not what actually did happen. Gaslighting only goes so far, things have to be somewhat grey. And only with a certain population. If a customer does not like the food, you may be able to finagle some things and even convince them maybe it was not that bad. But if they rush to the bathroom vomiting their guts out, there is not much you can say to change their perception of what happened. Disney is sending the manager to the bathroom to tell the person puking profusely that the food was great, and you should buy more. Dude? You serious? It's insane to even suggest that.
They're just whistling in the graveyard. The tragedy is that vanguard, ect., will protect them from the consequences of not making features for profit.
Its no tragedy, its the first time there's been a way for people to make blackrock and vanguard suffer as they typically only invest in local monopolies and other safe and predatory investments.

“In terms of engagement” does A LOT of heavy lifting here. I’m telling you, this is why they make these things antagonistic so people will talk and then these scam groups can claim bs accolades based on “engagement”- so all the “why the Acolyte sucks” videos contribute to their ability to claim success and probably sell advertising which means they will be successful despite us.
I did a little research on Valnet's website, and read the editorial policy. It says something about not accepting gifts from the subjects it covers to retain editorial independence, as if they are Consumer Reports. It reads well, but something ain't right, and they may be playing both sides here.
There's one thing I found surprising: You did a better job at investigative journalism than the average access media "journalist". Like, exponentially better. You found receipts, showed the interconnected links, and highlighted exactly what BS Disney was up to.
Screen rant is just a garbage site it has been for sometime once they started praising Disney and all their projects. I got banned from their Facebook page years ago after posting my displeasure with what Disney has done to Star Wars.
All you have to do is follow the money. That $180 million doesn't all go to the production. Many millions going to "marketing costs", or in other words, buying media opinions and good reviews.

Amazes me that Disney and their apologists STILL don't get it. If you take away all of the pretty obvious social and political messaging and just analyse the acolyte as a TV show, you are left with a series that is poorly written, badly acted and is directed by someone who clearly knows nothing about the IP and it's fanbase. And actively attacking that fanbase is not the answer.
After Mando season 1 and 2..they cant tell me shit. I remember the fandom when that show was still hot. You saw people wearimg merch..quoting the show and you and you even saw references in other media. It felt like Star Wars had regained its foot in pop culture again...ive seen almost none of this since with SWs. In fact...the only thing keeping Star Wars relevant in pop culture are the "hate watchers"...once this show wraps..only the memes and jokes will survive in fandom.
At this point, I'm convinced most of the Acolyte "fans" are not really interested in the show. They just enjoy "dunking on the chuds". Even if the show destroys canon and makes the jedi The Bad Guys, nothing is more important to activist fake geeks than fanboy tears.
Rouge one, clone wars, black panther, hunger games, divergent, Arcane, spiderverse, all either diverse leads or female lead and didn't sit nearly as poorly with fans, just saying.

Just read the good reviews of the acolyte they all say the same thing on what ever website reviews the series typical bots.I mean it’s just so bad of a series even if you like it you would have something bad to say they never do
I find it depressing that shilling for corporations is now called "Left leaning" and listening to the audiences is "right leaning". You guys are young but it used to be the other way round: Right was about to pander to the well-off elites and Left was about supporting minimum wage, workers strike and progressive taxation.
