Acolyte is the apprentice of a Sith Lord. All Sith Lords were once Acolytes. Had this show been about the rise of a Jedi Master, the show would have been called The Padawan.
This amazing show has been bombarded with hate because of its diverse cast and crew. I am grateful for families like Majeliv who I know will support and champion the Black, Asian, & Latino actors in this series, as they have done before. :-) 🎉 GREATLY looking forward do your reactions for the rest of the show-- especially episodes 5 and 8!!
This is for the Youngest son. It was something that was told me. "Think before you speak." You have a thought that you want to get out and you step on your older brother before he finishes his thought. Sometimes you'll start saying what you want to say and you'll mess up the landing. Don't be offended by what I'm saying here. Your family is there and they support you, I see it. Do this. Practice, Practice Practice. Study your brother's intro and when you think you have memorized, you do the intro. But keep it tight. As actors, you hear "audition, audition, audition." It means keep going even if you're getting rejected. just showing up is the key. Trust me, read out loud as much as you can. Even if it's not smooth at first. It's light exercise, it's hard at first but it gets easier. You are a part of an awesome team well on your way to 1 million subs. You can perfect this with practice, you already have the leading man look.
@@ahyesverygood1336 It's not meant to embarrass or be a joke. Remember, the entire family are professional actors. People who care about actors will do everything they can to make sure they look good. It's up to producers to hire the best. It's up to directors to get the best out of actors. It's up to cinematographers to make sure they look the best. It's up to script supervisors to ensure continuity. The Acolyte is the perfect example of producers, directors, cinematographers failing these actors. It's happening in real time. You can see the difference with a show like Dark Matter where nothing pulls you out of the story. Notice the families valid response to The Acolyte. You are being polite but they know it's not up to the standards they are used to. I love that honesty. I hope the younger son appreciates my honesty and works hard level up. You can see his potential. Just study his older brother's intros and tighten them up. Read more. I know it's hard because of distractions but it will pay off. The entire family is capable of amazing things, you are blind if you can't see it.
@@surfntrucks You do realize your perspective is just your perspective? Other peoples' personalities shouldn't be the concern of complete strangers, but that's just how things are these days, I guess. Don't allow yourself to get worked up over trivial things.
@@ahyesverygood1336 "Trivial" to you but career changing to others. In Hollywood "Other peoples' personalities" is a huge concern. It's acting. I take it you're not in the entertainment industry so you won't understand. Actors know what "audition, audition, audition, means." Actors that are in these shows are there because they auditioned. They showed up. Even after many rejections and no call backs. They kept auditioning and they showed up. If you don't understand, please reread what I posted. No response needed. If you're an actor, you know. If not, take care. No hard feelings. Enjoy your life.
Honestly, I’m baffled as to why they hired Carrie Anne Moss (Arguably the most recognizable actor in the series) only to kill her off in the lamest way for a (Presumably) well-trained and battle-experienced Jedi to die.
Hiring a big star and featuring them heavily in promo only to kill their character off within the first five minutes, is the same tactic that was used for the first _Scream_ film back in the 90’s. It’s essentially just to establish the stakes. Her death was a bit anticlimactic, sure, but again. She’s not actually meant to be the star of the show lol.
I'm so confused why you guys don't just watch The Old Republic Cinematic trailers. Infinitely better story in such a compact format. I highly recommend it.
This reaction is so frustrating. You guys are all frustrated because you're presuming you already know what the show is about and because of that you've focused all your questions on the wrong parts.
Agreed. Each episode seems to change our perspective a bit, and I find that intriguing. I know a lot of people complained that they revealed the mystery too soon, but that wasn’t the mystery of the show at all.
Yeah. Pretty disappointed in their reactions tbh. Seems like they’re one of the reaction channels that is hardcore judging parts of the show without really giving it a chance. Hope they will at least try to continue with it and not get so hung up on the mystery aspect.
I think a lot of people expected the series to be darker and from the antagonists' perspective and instead, it's an equal balance which ruins the mystery.
I appreciate your feedback. The story is very interesting but it is hampered down by some technical decisions. If those were smoothed out it would be a solid 8. The production makes it more of a 7.
Kinda disappointing reaction ngl. I typically like your star wars reactions, but I think y’all were judging way too harshly. Especially with it only being the first two episodes lmao. I can kinda understand complaints about pacing, but overall the first two episodes were a strong start. I think y’all were getting way too caught up on the “mystery” aspect too. Hope y’all will react to the rest of the episodes though and at least be a little more open.
I'm assuming you guys have seen up to episode 4 and have realised that this story is worth watching. I remember that you were all very unsure about the first couple of episodes of Ahsoka and Avatar... but then grew to love the shows at the end. :-)
I find the series compelling. This is a mystery series that is giving us little pieces every week and -- I suspect -- a lot of red herrings. I also love that it is set in a new time period.
I’m just going to say this now: “Help us, Dave Filoni! You’re our only hope!” And before anyone says ‘Filoni gave the show his approval.’, let’s remember a few things. 1. He probably didn’t have much choice and wanted to look good to the higher ups. 2. The Acolyte was presumably already finished before he became the Chief Creative Officer.
5-7 were definitely the best episodes. Personally, I like the show. Obviously not perfect by any means, but it’s definitely not “terrible” like some people keep saying. Overall I’ve found a lot of the complaints about the show to be ridiculous or hypocritical. I can agree with some of the more fair criticisms made of the show (which seem pretty mild tbh). In my opinion, what the show suffers from the most-and what most streaming shows seem to suffer from nowadays-is the overall formatting. The 8 episode only thing with some of the episodes barely hitting the 30 minute mark is not great. Shows like this could do with being a bit longer (even 10 more minutes could help). Some people have criticized the dialogue or cuts at some points, but personally I am a bit more lenient with that. Especially considering cheesy dialogue and odd transitions have been a staple of star wars since its creation lol.
I've been enjoying your Star Wars content for years, but this video was ironically presumptuous given your mention of Rear Window. I'm willing to bet you've never heard of Rashoman. You arent getting the whole story yet and that's the entire point. Also, the comments that this show is insecure in its own story...that's just so damn wrong. No one has been more sure about what the show they're making actually is than Leslye Headland.
...you're reaction is of many star wars fans. Frustrating, disappointing, bothered, etc... So many things wrong with this series. Writing, pacing, editing, average acting, breaking lore, counter "mystery" theme , bad story telling. But I'll finish with this, in the words of K Kennedy, "this was meant for the modern audience". Sad. Guessim not part of the modern audience.
This show is beyond bad, the sad part is, a lot of people who are obsessed with liking anything disney makes attack any negative feedback with "you are sexist or you are unhinged far right..." The reason this show is not good is the awful writing, it is dumb and boring, it happens to also mess with important Star Wars elements which will of course make people even more upset, the acting if cringe at best. There are many reasons why the majority of people don't like it. I personally respect anyone who does... to each his/her own but I choose what to like or dislike for myself. With this I do the same I have done with movies like Highlander 2 (in my mind it doesn't even exists) I did the same with the sequel trilogy, the shows Kenobi, Book... and Ahsoka, even the third season of Mandalorian. I'll stick to the originals, the prequels and Rogue One.
Except both the writing and the acting are the most solid things about the show besides choreography. Lee Jung Jae especially has been a breakout performance for sure. And literally nothing about the show has “mess[ed] with important Star Wars elements” lmao what are you talking about???? One of the few critiques I can actually understand is probably pacing, but I think that just boils down to the 30 minute 8 episodes format thing being a huge hindrance to a lot of streaming shows nowadays.
So after a couple of episodes you're listening to the people who flooded rotten tomatoes with negative ratings? I guess I gonna just watch blindwave who wait for run to conclude for unbiased reactions instead of making assumptions b4 the story fully told. I used to watch dozens of reactions of star wars content now I'm down to 1 channel that I feel haven't made their minds up b4 even watching or just nitpicking things apart
