The Actor's Charitable Theatre presents The Addams Family at the Historic Bama Theatre in downtown Tuscaloosa October 24th - 27th, 2014. Here Mary Kathryn Matthews, Ashleigh White and the female ancestors perform "Secrets"
I love everything about Morticia's voice, but I have a few things I'm confused as to why she did. At times she acted not like Morticia at all. And I know these aren't the Addams from the show, they've all changed. Trust me I know, I did the Addams Family Musical last week in my High School. But at times she acted nothing like Morticia at all but a different character all together. And I was confused as to why she sang to the audience at times when she's talking to Alice? The entirety of the beginning was to the audience. I get some parts but not the full beginning.
Number one you have 3 different anime in your name (I’ve seen them all) and another thing is that all serious actors know that you should face the audience as much as possible
Theirs a difference between cheating out and not even looking at the person your singing too, she’s just singing to the audience, even being faced against her at some parts.
That was by design. They're all playing a different type of ancestor. Airline stewardess, caveman, cowgirl, Frenchie, etc. The saloon girl was my personal favorite (same time, two from Morticias right)
I think we are discussing the same one! They are painted to look dead and painted over their eyebrows so it's hard to have a facial expression with out that. Thanks for watching!
+Matt MArtinez I will have to ask the music conductor to know for sure but tempos were worked out in rehearsals and for some a faster paced song with the dance break would have been difficult. It is moving at a fairly quick pace though.
The Actors Charitable Theatre the dance wasn't even that difficult though. We just did it in my high school and had a way more elaborate dance routine and it was way faster as well.
i just got cast as alice in a local production of the addams family here and i'm so excited! i have to be off book by monday so i'm watching videos. this is really good!
