Some chat about the new Activier Reality 112FR cab - two versions, Activier 1 (mono) or Activier 2 (stereo). Here's the link to them on our website:

Explaining the unique performance of our AVD-8 cab with coaxial front-firing 12"+tweeter, plus rearward output from the rear of the 12" cone through the AVD and an additional separate rear-firing tweeter with separate crossover, and adjustable level via the pad toggle switches on the Activier module.

Great speakers and products! If using a stereo signal in, will it get summed into the singel driver, when not using a second external cabinet?

We’ve got quite a lot of options for this, depending on your SPL, LF weight/depth and tonal requirements. One idea that struck me yesterday is making a wider Reality 112, so the same size as as our Usurper 112W, which would then stack neatly onto the matching width & height Two10S, which you could then drive with independent volume control from the channel 2 with an Activier 2 Reality.

How would this speaker cab fare if the input is from a small mixer, into which an acoustic guitar and vocal microphone have been plugged? Mounted on a pole, would this produce a more spacious, and less directional sound than a typical powered speaker (e.g., Yamaha DXR12)? I'm thinking that this could be a good alternative to a pair of powered speakers, or a line array + sub (Bose L1 or similar).

@@BarefacedAudio Thank you. Ever since Fishman came out with their SA unit, the idea that you can turn up at a venue with a guitar in one hand, and an amp (plus mic stand etc.) in the other, has appealed to me.

Any thoughts on how this power amp compares to the SD Powerstage 170? Output/headroom?

In a simplistic sense the Activier is a bit more powerful - but it's got more current capacity so it'll put out more into reactive loads and will drive lower impedances. With all these things, it's the combination of the speaker and amp that equates to both the output and headroom - neither make any sound on their own! What's your current set-up?

I wonder if it'd be possible to add AVD onto an existing cab (like little combo amps or cabs with a removable rear slab).

Great design. May I suggest that Barefaced Audio partner with a company in the US such as Parts Express to offer a CNC precut knock-down version of the basic Barefaced cab design, that DIY guitarists in the US and elsewhere could obtain at a reasonable price and build themselves? Barefaced could get a royalty on each kit sold, and there would be no high cost associated with shipping assembled cabs across the pond. This wouldn't interfere with the professional market.

This would be a great help to getting your product exposed to more players and Internet influencers. Another possible company who might be interested in providing kits for the cab , or even licensed assembled cabinets for sale would be Mojotone - they have a very good reputation in the higher end guitar technical community.

I can really see a Mojotone kit for a 1 x 12" combo amp with Barefaced integrated cab design, with a Fender Princeton clone amp chassis. My, my... that would be a killer combo.
