Heracross can be found in a tree in Azalea Town. The leafstone can be found using the method in this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zhTMLRmzoUY.html or by winning 1st place in a bug catching contest in National Park. Obtaining access to substitute and double team requires earning coins in the gaming booths for both Goldenrod and Celadon City. The focus sash requires grinding for bp in the post game. Both are quite annoying to do. Like I said in the video it is not easy to access all the necessary items for the game, but it is nonetheless possible. All the inconveniences need to be dealt with in order to beat Red with a team that is half the level of his team. To be frank, I would not recommend trying to beat Red with such a big level gap if you are looking to have a fun casual playthrough. However, if you want the best team for the game, this is my answer.
My team for my first run is Typhlosion (Lvl 40) Ampharos (Lvl 40) Weepinbell (Lvl 34) Pidgeot(Lvl 38) Heracross (Lvl 37) Quagsire (Lvl 38) I have just beaten the 5 kimonos and I am about to scale the bell tower.
@@imccrusher2054 Fantastic team dude. Heracross might be pretty rare but Heracross is such a powerhouse that worth your time headbutting random trees in Azalea
This is such a cool idea. I definitely have the urge to try this out myself! Great work and thank you for posting the movesets! In the games before B/W and reusable TMs, it can feel punishing wasting a TM on the wrong Poke. Also, in the games before Sw/Sh and free/early Move Reminder, it can feel just as punishing forgetting a move that later on you want to have.
Dont sleep on feraligatr. He single handedly can sweep up 4 to 6 gyms early in the game. It has water, ice, dark and normal type moves, and both ice/dark are physical, playing off its high attack stat.
Typhlosion - best starter in the game, best fire type Pokemon ingame Ampharos - against the flying types, special attacker, early to catch Fearow/Crobat - both are fairly easy to catch, Fearow has the highest attack power as a flying type/Crobat is more of a technical member Heracross - worth it, bruh, trust me Espeon - effort's worth it, best special attacker in game Lapras - early to catch, strong and dependable against dragon and ground types (HM Slave) Sentret/Turret
I love these videos to get inspiration for story runs in PokeMMO as it is harder than regular Pokemon storylines. Also, I think your videos are better than the "best team" videos from Mystic Umbreon because you also consider low level runs for the whole game.
I'll stick up for the Steelix and Wobbuffet. Wobbuffet becomes available as soon as you get Surf because you can get up to the Blackthorn side of the Dark Cave with HM's and you CAN get Steelix as a rare encounter in the Basement Floor of Cliff Cave on the way to the Safari zone in HGSS.
1:04 it's also worth noting that was a rom hack and not an unmodified copy of the game (I think it was an old Drayano hack, but I can't say for certain)
Wow you're right! I found a tutorial link so I'll post it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CesBrjdeeek.html That said, Steelix is still less valuable than Lanturn because his stab moves don't do much against Lance's pokemon except Aerodactyl and he would be one shotted by Red's Charizard, Blastoise, and Lapras. Also, using him to take down Pikachu won't bait Red into bringing out Venusaur which makes it much more difficult to set up Exeggutor's leech seed double team substitute strategy. Lanturn has much better chemistry with the team than Steelix, so the best team remains the same.
Yo. Great Vid, really considering doing this team for SS. I was shiny hunting a starter and unfortunately got Chikorita, but decided to roll with it. Through 4 gyms and can already tell Meganium is going to be a pain, even using MysticUmbreon's most recent best Meganium team. Might restart with Cyndaquil bc it was my first ever shiny hunt and while cool, it is ultimately just different color. Really awesome vid and damn leech seed carries
My 2 teams I use consist of typhlosion, umbreon, lanturn, girafarig, mamoswine, and dragonite, For team number 2 it’s typhlosion, amphrous, espeon, lapras, mamoswine, and for the last it can be used as a filler I usually just stick with dragonite or sometimes use heracross But if you haven’t used girafarig or lanturn you should serious use team number 1 it’s so good🤗
@@TheRyanSena tbh I never really thought of it bc typhlosion was always my favorite so I always wanted him on my team but now that you mention it I might have to play with no starter now
Feraligatr over typhlosion. Geodude could take care of first two gyms. You could have Crocanaw with Bite/Crunch before Ghost gym. Put Vulpix in day care until getting flamethrower and beat Jasmine easily. Also Ice Fang for Dragon type, but I know that good Water type pokemon is easy to find
After I'm finished with Diamond, I'm planning on doing a Heartgold playthrough, and I'm going for the best team for Feraligatr. I also don't mind abusing a few Bidoofs if necessary. My planned team right now will be: Feraligatr Noctowl (flyer and hopefully good for Morty with Shadow Ball or Confusion) Steelix/Rocky Heracross Alakazam Lanturn
Nope! A team's chemistry is not determined strictly by their uniqueness in typing. There are some types that are just stronger than others in certain games, and it is inevitable in picking the right members for the team that some members will share a typing.
There are a few holes in this team that are a bit glaring. You're missing coverage against several trainers. Chuck's Poliwrath, Claire's Kingdra, Will's Psychic types. Kanto gym leaders, your Rival's Feraligatr, box art legendaries, Team Rocket. I could go on.
It's been a while since I beat the game with this team but off the top of my head here's how you can beat the trainers that you mentioned: Poliwrath: A stab move from Exeggutor Kingdra: Leech seed and then stall with Lanturn's stockpile Will: Magneton and Lanturn would take care of the two Xatus and Slowbro, and Typhlosion would defeat Jynx and Exeggutor. Team Rocket: not a threat Feraligatr: Exeggutor, Lanturn, and Magneton Legendaries: Lanturn, Magneton, and Gyarados Kanto Gym Leaders: not a threat as long as you use the team properly Note: the movesets posted are for when battling Red. There's nothing wrong with trying to spot holes in my team, but remember that I do not post best team videos unless the teams in those videos are able to overcome all the mandatory battles in the game, including the ones you mentioned, without any grinding. Chances are that whatever obstacle you identify as a potential hole, the team in that video has a way to fill it.
@@DFuegoH I just faced Chuck a few days ago in a run on HG/SS, and his Poliwrath is a major threat even with counters. If you try to swap in, Hypnosis can cripple a counter and leave them wide-open to a STAB Focus Punch, which hurts even on resists, fortunately my Lanturn SOMEHOW survived a hit and clapped with a T-Bolt. In regards to Claire's Kingdra, STAB Dragon Pulse can hurt, and as a reminder, it has Sniper, so if it crits, you're basically dead because Crits ignore defense boosts and gets a boost from Sniper.
@@Sonicanimefan1 Well Poliwrath was not a threat for me. Counter hypnosis with a chesto berry and then put Poliwrath to sleep using Exeggutor. Against Claire make Kingdra sleep to mitigate the risk of crits. Good luck to you
the team i use is maganium, quagsire, pidgeot, ninetails, golem, and Ampharos on my soulsilver, in heartgold i used typhlosion, crobat, golem, quagsire, victreebell, alakazam
I kinda cheated and traded from another file at start of game but. Rapidash Scizor Red Gyrados Weavile Breloom Altaria May not be the “best” but it’s the best for me
Only use Magnemite against Gengar, and paralyze him with thunder wave to allow the rest of the team to outspeed him and occasionally give you free attacks. Then defeat Gengar using your most grinded team member, which in this team's case is Quilava. Against the Haunters, use the leech seed strat from Exeggcute.
It is! That said I wouldn't necessarily claim that my team is the best team for gen 2 because the movesets are different. I'd still have to test my team in that game.
@@fuzzyhair321 golem is insane soo many, poison and flying types in this game. He does great against first 4 gyms, 6,7th gym. Great against elite 4. Great defenses, bulky and great offensive attacker
@@fuzzyhair321 Rock Slide(Rock throw/Rock Blast Early), Earthquake (magnitude early), Strength (return early), Brick Break (fill not too many other great choices maybe dig)
