BMD at NAB 2024 • Adam and John Show • Episode 1 

As tempting as it is for me to get one of the new 4K switchers for my basement studio, the reality is that the 2 M/E Production Studio 4K, which I have now owned for more than 7 years, is more than capable of doing the job, and likely will be the direction I go. Yes, it would be nice to have the built-in scalers, but the other features added in the Constellation models compared to the old Production or Broadcast Studio models just aren't features that I would use. On top of that, it seems as though the older product lines are actually more reliable; you never hear anyone talking about how a Production Studio switcher has quit working, but online forums are full of instances of ATEM Minis and Constellations acting up or just outright dying.

Wow, great Idea! I like this kind of conversations in a show. Aaron Parecki would be nice to have in the show, or David Joshua Ford as a Stream Deck Specialist.

I am planning to eventually get to 4K SDI flow, so what I am doing now is converting over to SDI workflow with a Atem Extreme SDI, but purchasing everything as 12G compatible (cables and converters).

I've also considered upgrading to 4K (which would be reasonable for sports broadcasting), now that the 1 M/E Constellation got a 4K version (I'd be perfectly fine without supersource), but it does build up a substantial investment, that's for sure, as I'd also need four HyperDeck Studio 4K Pro's for my replay setup, and then all the cameras need to be upgraded to ones with a 12G SDI output... but yeah, it would be nice.

Reminding me as a kid of watching the old Reese's peanut butter cup commercial. Two great tastes that taste great together. West coast U.S. + Sweden, but all video and software for video production. 👍 17:51 and John really gets at the heart of the AppleVision Pro, what "could" an unfettered, clean slate video switcher look like in a virtual 3D environment. And, kudos on the production values, the Zoom ISO worked perfect, great editing, very good pace. And topic-wise, follow your bliss. I'm certain it will be interesting enough for most.

Fantastic show! A great wrap-up of the BMD product announcements and can't wait for the multiview update to MixEffect. It will go nicely with the new iPads being announced in early May.

What stops me from upgrading to an Extreme for Super source, and all the cool support for software like what Adam developed, is that, its time for an ATEM Mini product refresh and, well, Im good to see what shows up on the next 8 mo or so.

if 1M/E 4k would have supersource and iso recording, if it would be a full 2u unit, I would buy in a heartbeat!
