In this video lecture, Professor Fink reviews the role of the Hypothalamic Releasing Hormones on the Adenohypophysis (Anterior Lobe of the Pituitary Gland) in general, and then describes the Regulation of Thyroxin via TRH and Thyrotropin (TSH) in particular. Included in the detailed discussion is the Negative Feedback Loop involved in homeostatically maintaining circulating plasma Thyroxin levels. Reference is made to T4 & T3, the actions of Thyroxin, Hypothyroidism (Primary, Secondary & Tertiary), Hyperthyroidism, Cretinism, and the clinically-characteristic TSH (Thyrotropin) levels in Hypothyroidism.

you are the best teacher in the world. My university does not give us the luxury of having such a great professor to teach our class, we have professors that don't speak english and make hard exams, so the averages are low, allowing the school to get credibility because of how low the scores are. but your really helping me so thank you!

amazing, was just wandering if there was more on this video as wen it ended at 39mins it looked like you were going to talk through more. 2nd question when you mentioned that the low t4 and high tsh was an indicator that there was an error at the level of the thyroid gland. Due to no response from the TSH accumalation. I was wondering if there could be an error at the level of the follicular cell, like the MCT8 receptor or lack of iodine being broken down, or even a problem at the level of the enzyme involved in iodination, eg Iodine peroxidase? Thank you x
