Update- It looks like Adobe has removed Edit Multiple Frames from the timeline in the 2024 version...Very Weird. You can now find it in Control>Timeline>Edit Multiple Frames, or with Alt Shift E.
It's actually still there! You just have to change your Workspace to "Classic" instead of the default "Basic" Workspace is under Window, near the bottom! I hope this helps anyone who was confused like I was :) Edit: Also, thank you so much for this tutorial, it helped so much ;-;
Pls help me leaf clean layer - using line tool draw leaf - after using paint bucket tool use for filling leaf but my side not working filling pls help me 15:44
This is hands down the best tutorial I’ve seen on any creative software. Actually amazing that this is free on the internet for anyone to watch. You sir, are amazing, thank you!
Even though this looks like a pretty normal tutorial, you have covered lots of interesting detail and simple ways of animating which is really nice and absorbing for beginners. Well done! The greatest animator of all time.
One addendum (because this really tripped me up when keyboards made this change): For F5 (add frame), F6 (add Keyframe) and F7 (add blank keyframe), The user needs to make sure that the keys are in “Function” mode, By either holding the function key (fn) on the keyboard when pressing the keys, Or making sure the keys are “function locked” (either by hitting the function lock key or changing it in settings) Otherwise the keyboard will do the alternate function listed (usually volume up/down and the like) This really tripped me up when keyboards started moving away from function keys having dedicated functions, so I hope it helps someone else avoid my learning troubles!
This has to be the best tutorial video I have ever seen. I wasnt confused at any point, neither did I feel I needed to pause and replay to understand, and the your voice and style is super clear... Thanks for the crash course :)
As someone who learnt macro media flash in depth over 20 years ago, this video tells me exactly what I needed to see how the tool has evolved quickly thank you!
What the other Adobe tutorials and Main Channel teach me in half a year for me unsuccessfully, you teach me how to use it in only 20 minutes successfully.
Brother, I am Turkish and I watched Turkish videos and I could not understand anything, but even though I did not know the language in your video, I was able to start progressing in the program thanks to this video. Thank you very much.
OH Godddd!!!! Now this is something I wanted this whole time. You are an absolute light in the dark Alex, I just love it sooooo muchhhh...you covered most of the things I needed to know to make my first animated video... You are amazingggg man... Please keep making these king of valuable stuff...I'll be your forever subscriber

How can i add this button? i found this comand in control > timeline > edit multiple frames it works as in the video but doesnt show up near timeline as separate button
This was genuinely such a well made and helpful tutorial!!! I was able to follow everything you were saying and nothing was too complicated, I wish all tutorials were like this

I have a problem with this program. Due to the fact that my laptop has a small screen, the interface is compressed to such an extent that some buttons and options disappear from view, not to mention the size of the workspace. if you have the same problem, then I recommend using flash (animate older brother) or another program (for me it’s Krita)
What would you recommend for frame by frame animation? I hear good stuff from ToonBoom Studio, Adobe Animate- but reviews are always a mixed bag. I’ve mostly used Photoshop’s built in animation software. I’m starting to delve into the realm of animated series’s. I am a one man studio, without the studio and just the dumb dumb brain who just so happens to be adept in most aspects of an animation studio. Photoshop is great but highly restricting. To get to the point, I don’t care about steep learning curves, or thresholds, I just want to make a fun show on RU-vid. May I have some wisdom?
Animate CC is a decent place to start for tv style stuff. You can create character with replaceable symbols for mouths/hands/expressions etc, and then reuse them throughout your work. I've worked on tv shows entirely made is Animate, like Hey Duggee. If you outgrow that harmony and moho are worth looking into :)
@@AlexGriggAnimation thank you very much! I’ve been watching your videos as of late and I’ve picked up some really useful information and methods that I’ve been able to apply into my workflow. I can’t wait to see more of what is in store
This was the most simplest tutorial on Adobe animate EVER I LOVE YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS BC I LEARNED ALOT FROM THIS!! Can you make more vids on the other tools animate has like how to do puppet or bone animations?
Nice! I guess it depends how young they are and how confident they are on a computer and with drawing. My friend made an app called LOOOM which is a great place to start playing with animation
@@AlexGriggAnimationAlright! I'll definitely check that out. She's 10 and draws almost daily. She's never done any animating before, though. We have Procreate and use it often so Procreate Dreams sounded good. But then we read the reviews-3 stars and a lot of problems-and now think otherwise
I have access to Animate but was too lazy to try and learn it. This is pretty easy to follow and will help a LOT with making my animation channel look more like an animation channel lol. Thanks!
Adobe Animate performance on Mac Mini M1 is terrible! I'm trying to make a simple animation, black background, white brush lines, three layers and Adobe Animate is terribly slow! The spinning colorful wheel appears for a longer period of time, even when I want to zoom out or zoom in. Does anyone have similar experiences?
I was wondering what kind of cursor you used until I noticed that sometimes the highlighting in the menus don't line up, which indicates it was added in post haha! Very nice
I've been wanting to be and OSC animator since 2018, but I've had a hard time trying to follow along with the other tutorials since they're fast paced. This video will help me a lot during this process!
Thanks for this. Greatly appreciated. One question; my onion skin seems inconsistent, in that sometimes it simply won’t give me the last previous frame. Is this a glitch? I’ve tried using ‘selected frames’ and ‘all frames’ settings but I keep losing a previous onion skin every 4 or 5 frames.
Woww, best tutorial so far 🙌. Thanks for the usefull information and knowledge about Adobe Animate ^O^, this video was absolutely easy for me to understand and catch up on all of the tools. tysm 🤩
thanks a lot for you free crash course! I have a problem - I can't convert layers to symbol, so it hasn't such option when I selected all layers and clicked to open the dialog with options. I have Adobe Animate 2020
your tutorials are very helpful. Thank you. I have just started learning Abode Animate. My goal is to make animated reels and short films. I am very confused where to start and also very afraid of failing. Can you help me, what should I do first? regards.
how do I insert a frame between two existing keyframes ? I tried using the short cut keys but it won't work. The workaround I found: is to first extend the frame with F5 then with F6 create a keyframe, then erase the existing drawing and draw new one. There's gotta be a quicker way. Why couldn't F6 or F7 work to create new keyframe between two existing keyframes ?
I wonder what your opinion is on setting the project to 12fps instead of 24fps animating on twos? The. You always have the flexibility if you need more in betweens or what to slow mo
Animate cc Adobe Crash course And she's my teacher Jessica To create action figures in the book and ruined the page And save something like a storybook I trust Mickey because he’s the boss and that’s what Jessica cares I trust Mickey because he’s the boss and that’s what Jessica cares And save something like a storybook
Hey Do you have any plan to make a series of full crash course of animate cc if don't, than make one I would love to watch and i will also gonna recommend it to other who want to learn animate cc. Nice Video BTW
That was awesome thank you. I study Web Design and Development but I have to put it on pause because the doctors found a 7 x 9 x 9 in mass behind my eye. I can't imagine myself studying to make websites if I have a short time here. I decided will learn animation and make short clips to evoke my emotions. This is the first video I found and it helps a lot. It's thorough and straight to the point. I get headaches and this makes taking in the information easy. Thanks for sharing. I hope to make cool things.
Hi..you are doing great and very clear tutorial and easy to understand! I am a newbie for animation, i hope i can make my original animation myself..many thanks!!
I used to be obsessed with Flash when I was younger, making stick man animation. I just upgraded my Adobe package and see I have Adobe Animate, excited to get stuck into it for the new year.
man your videos are awesome! seriously! If I can give you some advice, you could do an advanced tutorial. Let me explain better: internet is full of Adobe Animate tutorials for beginners or little more. You can't find really advanced and in-depth tutorials anywhere, I would be really curious to see how you work at an industry level on this program that I've been using for more than ten years.
It'd be really interesting to do that. I think the issue is that a lot of productions use custom plugins to make Animate CC ready for TV pipelines. My short experience on Hey Duggee showed me how people build really great rigs for characters and keep things like colours consistent across the show.
