Actually, getting a restraining order for Gumball and Darwin to stay away from you would be very dangerous. If you don't interact with them enough, the universe will deem your existance meaningless and erase you from reality.

Here is why school or the town doesn't kick out the Watterson family. There is actually plot involved in this. Every episode, the show restarts, so mostly all that happened in the episode(like a death of someone) becomes just a memory of the character, that never had consequences. The creators of the show decide everything. I would recommend you watching some more episodes, because it is pretty interesting. Maybe these would be good if you want to know the plot: "The job", "The Finale", "The Void", "The oracle", "The nobody", "The nemesis", "The signal", "The bus", "The disaster", "The rerun", "The ex", "The vegging", "The Spinoffs", "The future", "The inquisition".

Not sure if this makes it better or worse, but the hippie that seems to always be on drugs is actually the school counselor

Funnily enough Gumball does have an actual plot but they don’t reveal it until *very* late into the show.

Anyway, the series is supposed to literally say that if the Wattersons don't do destructive things, bad things will happen to them. because the point of the cartoon is that it does unreal things, or else the plot doesn't advance, in fact once upon a time everyone started acting like normal people and started treating them like normal people. expelling gumball and darwin from school for bad behavior, making them pay billions of dollars in damages to the city, and putting them all in jail, then they started acting as usual and literally, LITERALLY magically everything went back to normal, no consequences for them because they continue to act like caricatures.

I never watch Gumball as a child outside of a few times at friends' houses. I'm genuinely curious if the people who grew up watching this show are traumatized or something.

I just assume Gumball goes to an Alternative School. I went to a school called AS#1 (alternative school #1) and it’s where they send kids that just CANNOT Fit in in normal school. Basically special Ed but the whole building. Everyone had an IEP. Some in for being juvenile delinquents, some for being disabled, some cause they just couldn’t fit in at other schools-- you basically cannot get expelled. I stabbed a kid with a pen, got slapped, skipped one period exclusively for the whole school year (science). AND it was K through 8 so it was middle school and elementary so Anais being there wouldn’t be weird…..
