Sapphire West! Please ❤ Great playthrough. I'd just finished playing it when you started. I've enjoyed being taken to school! It was awesome. Thank you 🤗
It wasn't as hard as I expected. The commander's avatar is full strength, and I took two psi operatives, which are still pretty viscous with basic psi amps. I don't remember if weapon attachments have to be base tier as well, but most soldiers had repeaters for a few lucky insta-kills. Yeah, it'll be the hardest mission of the campaign, but it isn't a keep-reloading-until-you-finally-get-it kind of hard (not that reloading is an option in an ironman campaign).
Soldiers, you are about to enter a deadly unknown place, the fate of humanity is on your shoulders. Now. I had a little argument with Tygan, who said we couldn't have done it without his gear, so you will use obsolete weapons and armor to ensure, uh, your success.
@@goldengolem4670 Also if you check the model, I'm pretty sure its the same design as the xcom 1 laser pistol. Dude was hanging on to that gun since the first war.
OH! you got 12 kills since you "killed" the Andromedon twice: once for the pilot, once for shell, so it got double counted! man I'm excited for the finale of this series, this is awesome as all hell! can't wait to see who ends up going!
"I don't know what Tygan was smoking to call these 'new recruits', but..." Caught me completely off guard and had me rolling. Only makes the 'Who Needs Tygan?' achievement next ep even better! Good luck!
A great way to make the hard ending even harder - going for Who needs Tygen. Nice! It's been a great playthrough and how you remember all the small but important tactical details, I don't know. It's amazing that you never really lost control of a mission or lost a single soldier. My fear about Ironman is always that even if you start OK, at any point and after hours of hard work, you can get nailed and lose one or more soldiers who you've spent ages working on. So well done! It won't change the way that I play at this stage, I enjoy it too much to try and be so lethal at such high costs. Can't wait for the final round.
With no research to di Tigan seems to be smoking the good stuff! Regardless though, I think that he deserves it. He's been so helpful through this series, and Regardless the end is nigh. I Hope that everything goes well
Unknown to all, Tygan's workaholism was standing in for his unresolved substance abuse issues. He went on a break and promptly got so zooted that he insulted X-Com soldiers by calling them rookies, so everyone decided they'll do the last mission without his gear, just to spite him. He doesn't know yet, seeing as he started celebrating the humanity's victory early.
The final battle approaches! It has been a long ride but what a ride it has been! Now show those alien bastards what humanity is about, Vigilo Confido!!!
Thank you for showing off Mox's battle lord ability! By the time I unlock that in my own games the steamroller effect has usually come to full strength, and the aliens never get much of a turn, making it hard to see in action.
I feel like the "try to draw less attention to ourselves than we already do" needs to be juxtaposed with the image of half a building missing, corpses littering the ground, and the area on fire at around 27:42
Pete - insane series. Thank you for delivering such brilliant videos. Excited for next week, but also a bit sad. Been here since Episode 1 and looking forward to what you decide to run with next. Good luck with the who needs Tygan achievement!
I can't believe it's nearly over; but I'm on the edge of my seat for the final fight and achievement... Out of all the challenges, this one seems to be one of the most menacing, so good luck Commander Pete!
If you really wanted to be cheeky; the reaper technically breaks this entire mission. Just sneak to the end in shadow mode and activate the broadcast; job done. Though I'm sure you're aware of it and I appreciate you choosing not to be the Lord of the Cheese. =P And as always, ggwp. Edit: Actually with the map you rolled, that wouldn't have worked; but that's just a spot of poor luck. That being said, if you packed a couple mimic beacons and gave the reaper a refraction field, it wouldn't matter if you broke concealment as you would be able to distract them and reconceal enough times to bypass every pod.
Man , Im gonna miss this series, I really hope Pete will consider 40k daemonhunter, just cause late game abilities is broken, I saw a streamer demolish a boss, would be fun to see and good luck on the last video
Not getting 6 psyops for who needs tygan is pretty bloody brave, that one is hard enough as is but you are doing it on legendary as well. Good luck you absolute madlad
@@ceu160193 Hmm you have a point but i usually just stasis spam sectopods, deal with the rest then repeat. That worked pretty well when i messed up and activated 2 sectopods at the same time by accident.
I know that you've already put out the poll for whats next but i just wanted to suggest Warhammer 40k Chaos gate: Daemon hunters from a couple years back as a future option too. also great stuff you always put out great entertainment.
Oh man, it has been a long journey. All good things come to an end, and as such, I am looking forward to part 2 of this long campaign epilogue! Was mulling over how you are going to get the "Who Needs Tygan" achievement. Good luck, I want to see how you do it. Edit: First time I ever see Battlelord being used. One of those situations where it is very useful.
i could feel that execute on that andromedon a full 4 seconds before it happened. something about repeaters and reapers love triggering on the hulky brutes...
WIth no research and a critical blow to the advent network, Tygan is smoking a victory joint calling everyone rookies. No wonder they are going to ditch his tech next mission.
It have been a long road, now we are upon the end. The series will be missed, but something new will come, and life will go on, looking forward to the conclusion.
Yo Pete, how about some Darkest Dungeon 2 when you finish this series? You don't need to have played Darkest Dungeon 1, as they're different genres, and it would be exciting to see you grandslam DD2!
I know you're ready to wrap up the series but would you consider recordjng two endings, one using modern weapoons in last mission and one without? This would allow us to see the difference in effort needed for the achievement. Pretty please!
