i don’t think it was ever confirmed that Fiona and cake is an alternate universe, it is shown that the stories that ice king writes gets beamed into his brain at night from space
@@rigzmoviediaries654 I thought it was an show from space seeing as a girl looking like Fiona broke into ice king’s castle looking for a tape/the show Fiona and cake which was beamed into his head
@@aspectrat651 But Fiona and cake is a fan fiction made by ice king. It can’t be real. Finn and Jake are people on earth who exist and there can’t be a show that’s genderswapped versions of them. The girl who had the tape only had the tape because she recorded her tv when the tv picked up the signal from ice kings brain beaming into a satellite which beamed it to her tv.
@@rigzmoviediaries654 lol guys Ice king has inter-dimensional sight magic powers.. there's even an episode where Finn touches a clay lamb and becomes invisible only Ice king can see him cause he powers transcend his dimension they even hinted that Ice king knows he is a cartoon character being watched by us on a tv set of "varying frequencies like a message in a bottle" . sad part is because he sees all this crazy interdimensional monsters, demons and aliens he lives a eternal torment since they haunt him but he cant touch them all see them. long story short Ice king knows Fiona and cake are real and are beings trapped in another dimension because he knows he is also trapped in another dimension being watched over by us but he is powerless to change any of it also his dementia makes him forget all the big secrets of the universe he keeps learning... his literally the mad powerful wizard
Fun fact: The episode "Sons of Mars" was the fifteenth episode of the fourth season, which is coincidentally the same day that Abe Lincoln died (April 15th, or 04/15). Not sure if this is an Easter egg. Also, this date takes place in the house of Aries, who was considered the son of Mars. I'd be interested to see if there are other astrology references on this episode.
I think Jake telling the cupcake witch about having got his powers from rolling in a puddle was probably just what his parents told him. his parents probably didn't want him to know he was born from an evil interdimensional alien, so just told him he was twins with Jermaine and just rolled in a magic puddle
Tbh I’m glad they went with the glowing kitten instead of a half Ice King hybrid, I don’t like the idea that Ice King had a bit of Alone Time with a literal penguin, even if it is actually some sort of demon.
Adventure Time always had that strangeness to it and I absolutely loved it. It could be weird, uncomfortable or even scary. It was the second cartoon I ever watched that was like that. The first being Courage The Cowardly Dog which I also adore much.
but what’s so weird about adventure time that’s different from courage the cowardly dog is that even when I was a kid I always found courage the cowardly dog a strange show. my opinion on it never changed but when I was a kid I saw adventure time as a very comforting show. not disturbing or eerie at all but now as an adult idk. it’s still a very good show but I find it so trippy and eerie now
Netflix has a really cute Japanese import called Kotaro Lives Alone. Follows the lives of several tenants in an apartment complex. The titular character; Kotaro, is 4 years old. The landlord said he didn't care what age he was, so long as he could pay the rent. Super adorable voice acting, thoughtful writing, and every so often it gets SUPER sad.....I mean, think about it. What's going on with his kid to be living alone at 4? Where is the little twerp's mom and dad? How much of his story is just him whistling in the dark..? Damn fine cartoon. Disarmingly deep.
7:35 I think this is more about how Fionna and Cake was thought to be purely Ice King fanfics. The it's revealed that Fionna and Cake VHSs exist and the events of Fionna and Cake's universe are beamed into Ice King's dreams
One advice I have towards these iceberg videos you do is that you have to show the things you talk about and not just talk about something without us actually seeing the thing you're informing us about. other than that your videos are great, keep it up!
I think in a real Fiona and Cake alternative universe it would be a little different than ice kings version, since he made Fiona clearly a little mature bodied than Finn is, and she wouldn’t ever actually have any real chance or relationship with Gumball or Marshal cause of the age gap
I like how they made her body. Finn is very square shaped he's strong and sturdy, and I think Fionna resembles that in many ways too she has broad and strong shoulders and also broad hips I think she is also very sturdy and muscular.
I would say the bubbline fiasco is that after what was missing aired an official(?) podcast implied marceline having a crush on pb, causing the person to be fired, podcast to be canceled and the pair did not interact for 2 more seasons.
Wait so you're telling me Jake says, "Say goodbye" in complete reverse and Finn replies with"Hello!". Finn knew what Jake was saying. The opposite of goodbye is hello, this is definitely one of the greatest moments of Adventure Time. Maybe even the greatest moment in HISTORY!
i love how much the show offers; be urself, don't assume things(ice king, dont assume hes just crazy, he has a backstory), dont be embarrassed of your sexuality(marceline and pb), the jokes, everything. Its honestly so deep and nice, also explores stuff like depression
Man, looking again at this show gave me flashbacks when I was obsessed with it. I remember trying to make a Facebook page about Adventure Time theories but ended up scrapping it because I don't know how to spell "Theories" at that time. My family reunion at that time had shirts with our printed faces each member and such. My shirt was special because it had an Adventure Time theme along with my face.
I think I've heard somewhere that Rumble Jaw isn't an actual special. It was simply the working title to the Distant Lands miniseries, similarly to how Return of the Jedi was named "Blue Harvest", so that there wouldn't be too much attention drawn to it. The characters featured on the promo artwork do make an appearance on a TV screen in the episode "BMO", though.
technically speaking they didnt exactly "grow old together" since thier immortal. But man, did the beginning of Obsidian: distant lands make my little heart happy to see the domestic bliss that is bubbline.
Good video, but I want to add one note. I would've liked you to spend more time on the deeper levels instead of the upper ones. It feels like you added a lot of context and examples to the commonly known things while just blowing through the less known stuff
Ikr, he really should've spent some more time on making this video, and maaaybe expanding the iceberg cause it's ridiculously short considering how big the show is!
the "crown" chakra is a powerful chakra, its said that if used without being properly grounded; the practitioner becomes insane/mad. I think that relates to the ice king a lot
i met jeremy shada (the voice of finn) at megacon in orlando of 2015 when i was 10. i specifically remember jeremy and his “manager” (just assuming that’s who the guy was) both asking me if i was excited for the adventure time movie to come out when i met them. i feel like because of this it could have just been scrapped? i have no idea, but i definitely remember a movie being mentioned.
The Ice King’s back story still makes me tear up to this day, he was forced to use a power that took over and warped his mind to protect a young Marcie. “Marceline is it just you and me in the wreckage of this world?, that must be so confusing for a little girl and i know you’re going to need me here with you. But I’m losing myself and I’m afraid you’re going to lose me too, This magic keeps me alive but it makes me crazy and i need to save you but who’s going to save me please forgive me for whatever i do when I don’t remember you.” Still remember that song till this day imo one of the best on the show and will forever love the Simon Petrikov AKA the ice king as a character.
Hey man, I've been watching a few of your iceberg vids and decided to finally subscribe. I eat this stuff up like Spaghetti. Spicy stuff, stay frosty. :3
I know, I know. Two years later, and three months since the video released. I don't expect you to read this, maybe you'll find it an interesting theory. Adventure time has ended and with its end, a new character, Shermy, who wields Finn sword, which was a literal Finn turned into a sword in the episode where they go back in time for Primo's "plan b" for his new sleep body. Anyways, this made me think.. Finn's sword has a gem in it like his first sword. Is Finn's first sword another reincarnation of himself as well? Even in the game Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why'd you steal our garbage?!! The sword is referred to as "Scarlet". Anyways, just a theory I thought would be cool.
It's unfortunate that valis glossed over the implications of swearing in the storyboards. That's means that the boards the creators turned into the animators frequently used cursing as dialogue and to convey expression. That's sounds hilarious. It would be cool if collections of these storyboards are available. They sound like they would be pretty interesting to see
Does anyone remember a different scene with the clown nurses? I remember it terrifying me as a child to where I stopped watching the show, it was extremely graphic
@@kittykittybangbang9367 Sorry for the disappointment if any, but I believe it was in a Subliminal Messaging in Adventure Time video from long ago, I looked at the original on hbomax, but it wasn't like I remembered it, I tried looking it up, but I hadn't found anything yet. Although I could have just imagined the scene the wrong way.
YES! i think its an episode about finn being sick and needing kisses (?) while jake goes and ...finds a cure, i guess? idk but i definitely remember a trippy, weird, almost frightening clown scene with the clown nurses forcing their "treatment" on finn ....
I think Jake's belt would have come off after he sent his dad into the event horizon. He would have had to shrink down to survive on the cake and he would shrink out of the belt. Plus he was on that planet for a while, the belt probably was painful reminder of his awful father, and I think he would have ditched it as soon as he could. Just my opinion.
me and my mom's theory on jake: Jake has always been prismo, and will never not be prismo in any life since time doesn't work the same way in the time room as it does... basically anywhere else..
In "Holly Jolly Secrets 2" The ending shows Marceline staying out in the cold rather than join in on the festivities with the others, including her ex and her insane father figure. The last group shot shows her looking pretty forlorn and I think it foreshadows her broken relationships with Simon and Bonnie.
16:20 since we're mentioning that picture, I don't know if I was just tripping or something, but I remember seeing an episode where the "ripped picture" wasn't ripped, then when I saw that episode again it was ripped, maybe I was just dreaming or some shit because I can barely even remember that, does anyone remember something like this too?
Good vid, I think the Futurama thing is just explained bc the two characters have the same voice actor. You didn't mention it in the vid so not sure if u caught that! Love that bit tho hehe
Mr. M is martin is a reference to the first adventure time distant lands episode, in which there’s a character named Mr. M who’s face is never shown. this character is confirmed to be Martin
I always thought adventurer time was released in 2009, in an early episome L.S.P. takes Finn and Jake to Lumpy Space and the portal to Lumpy Space (a mushroom and toad) was locked with a passphrase that was opened when L.S.P. exclaimed "WHATEVER IT'S 2009!"
Can you.... maybe use clips that are more relevant to what you're talking about? Also some of the looping gifs are just irrelevant to certain subjects.
I was one of the kids who figured out that Adventure Time was in a post apocalyptic future before direct confirmation. I noticed all the wrecked buildings, cars, and subway stations in the show and when they casually namedropped a "Great Mushroom War" I realised that that must have been the end of the world. Figured this all out when I was 5 or 6 btw.
They scrapped a love relationship btwn princess bubblegum and marceline? Well that worked out didnt it CN Also great video. I grew up on Adventure Time, in a time in my life when we didnt have Roku and had only cable, so it was kind of surreal to know some stuff in the list that i hadn't heard or seen in years. It was sad to see AT end, but it definently needed to Also abyss music?
1:10 I think the best example is the episode that ends with the Worm (Evicted), which should be followed by the dream episode (King Worm) which didn't come out for another two years. Now, my biggest question on Adventure Time: What happened to the bridge in the birthday train episode?!
I looked into the missing limb motif- it apparently has roots in Arthurian literature and can be apart of a hero’s archetype (Unless the source I read was bull lol)
This was amazing and all amd i appreciate the effort into making and compiling this but some of the stuff mentioned were annoying because they weren't on screen. Hence they were only mentioned then skipped over while an unrelated clip was playing. It's a minor detail but i hope this helps on your future
I also know some of finn and jakes past lives/reincranation Finn's Past and Future Lives : The Blue Catalyst Comet,Butterfly,Shoko and I think Shermy is also Finn after being Finn Jake's Past and Future Lives : Shoko's Tiger and Beth
Wow I’m surprised no one is talking about how the entire story is told by cinnamon bun’s perspective and that’s why the show starts with his revival and ends with the gumball wars because bmo wasn’t actually there during the war but somehow could talk about detailed events before he came and saved the day with his singing,
