When this show ended my dad and a friend got wind of the show throwing away all the props from the show , today i have both bowling balls from artie and one from pete and the bike that flew threw the intro !!!!!
I just want to say thank you guys so much for making one of the greatest shows of all time. It was so ahead of its time and so edgy and did things that could never be done on television today. I was abused as a child and had a lot of torment dealing with my father but when that block of Nickelodeon shows came on and I heard that Pete and Pete song it all went away. I'm 39 years old now I was born in 1983 and I'm rewatching all the old shows including Pete and Pete. Tears come to my eyes because the tones in the theme song alone are full of joy and positivity and that song is embedded in my head to where every time I hear it I know that stimulation is on its way. I truly love you guys and I hope that somehow you get this message. Much love from Jesse in Dayton Ohio.
All of this that you said is me right now. I'm 37, and also dealt with abuse as a child. And yes, I miss those old 90s shows. Everything youre describing is how I feel now too. Everything is so nostalgic. The soumds and the music. Thank you for sharing your story man, hope youre doing well!
There was something about that show that hit you. It made me feel like a teenager, but also made me realize how fleeting those carefree youthful moments were.
I was born in 86 & as a kid I remember a lot of cool tv shows from the 90's are you afraid of the dark ,rocko ,rugrats,Pete & Pete , wild & crazy kids ,salute your shorts , hey dude , Clarissa explains it all, all that , kenan & Kel just to name a few sigh I miss them times oh & ren & stimpy lol
+cordy torres Me too, 1985, but Pete and Pete are the best looking ones to this day. I like how they both look like real people and are just... cool dudes. Big Pete reminds me of my friend too. That is a bomb VNeck huh? heh
I still watch this show to this day. It was so thoughtful, the them song still brings me back to being 10 years old watching this after a day on the lake.
I had the honor and pleasure of working with one of the guys from the band that did the music for this amazing show! When he found out I was a fangirl it totally embarrassed him (lol I guess I was the only one at the time "old enough" to remember this brilliant show) but he was one of the sweetest people I've ever met in my life and I would tell him every time I got the chance how much this show impacted me as a kid in the most positive way. Love to you all.
Coming up on 30 years soon. This show is one of the unsung heroes of my childhood and one of the chief inspirations for my eccentric, surreal films and shorts I make... the style, the characters, the vibe, the balance between "down to earth" stuff and "cartoony surrealism" was perfect and unparalleled! :D
Wow i thought Jimmy De Santa seemed oddly familiar in the game! Got that same feeling when watching the 2021 movie "Copshop" with Gerard Butler and Frank Grillo. Then i checked up and saw it was Toby Huss (Artie) - he played a funny sadistic hitman in the movie.
@@scroopynooperz9051 Toby Huss was also in Halt and Catch Fire a fucking awesome show with Lee Pace. also toby was in brooklyn nine nine when jake went to jail.
The most enduring things from this show for me were Mom's metal plate and the theme song. Seriously, I loved this show. And I was like 15 when it was on TV.
The Adventures of Pete & Pete was in my opinion, a blend of 'My So Called Life, meets Monty Pythons Flying Circus meets a perfect soundtrack by a super group whose songs stand up to any acoustic material of The Rolling Sones up till Brian Jones died.'
The end of this video looks just like the original episodes where everyone got together or solve any problem while just walking and hugging with the polaris themes always playing...priceless!!
@@ZenShroud1 That is not Ellen. Ellen's real name is Allison Fanelli. She is not credited on the original Funny or Die video linked in the description.
I'm 32 now and myself and many of my friends have the two DVD's and watch them once in a while to bring it back. As a young boy with 3 brothers and lots of neighborhood kids around, we actually played outside 75%+ of the time. P&P related to our adventures that we invented in order to have fun.
im a latin dude and pete and pete is also great for my culture, he faced the same issues we faced back in the 90s im sure many forgot about him but for us the diferent ones he is our hero and the tv show was a masterpiece.
Holy shit the nostalgia! I was quite young when I saw this show but there was such a surreal nature to it that it was hard to ever forget. My mind is blown little Pete is Jimmy in GTA. That voice was driving me nuts in this till I googled it.
We went to a comedy club in 2000 for my High School prom and Danny Tamberelli was there. All us 90's teens were super excited to see someone we grew up watching on Snick.
They should bring The Adventures of Pete & Pete back as adults now. I see as something like It’s Always Sunny but way more weird, and it has good music.
F hilarious!! There should be a Danny and Mike show just like this, with character appearances from Pete and Pete. Something like Cobra Kai! That would be so dope😅🔥
the music makes me go back in time to a way way better time when I was innocent and had no clue how cold and hard of a world that this is. Ahh nostalgia. Nicolodeon was the shit!
Being a Bronx boy since 1981, remembering when I had to visit my grandparents in Reading, PA to watch Nickelodeon... this early 90's show was a Godsend for kids and teenagers! My pre-9/11 world was a nice era of escapism with tinges of life lessons with shows like PETE AND PETE to help me along the way. The Mr. Tastey episode always gets me. Looking back, I forgot what a time capsule that series became. When that ice cream man left the neighborhood, I recall a shot of one of the kids holding a photo of him with The Twin Towers behind him. Also forgot they filmed the series in and around East Orange, New Jersey. Always got a kick out of some Tri-State references scattered throughout the series. The occasional baby blue New Jersey license plate showing up on screen. The 'alien' kid having his home neighborhood written down as Whitestone, NY (that's Queens for the uninitiated). The NJ public schools that doubled for Pete and Pete's Junior High School. All praise be to Krebstar....🇵🇷🇺🇸😎
I'd love to see a reunion movie, You could have them go on some mission to scatter their parent's ashes in different parts of town . All the while the craziness of their hometown is still alive and well. Hey Nickelodeon, call me
