On sale this month only at: sterlingbymusicman.com/produc... EDIT: the sterling joe dart does not come with a case. 00:00 Intro 00:18 Market Research 02:31 Feels Good 03:06 The Catch
Joe shook my hand about ten years ago at the Telegram ballroom and it gave me the talent to play bass at my church for the last 8 years. My wife told me I should buy this so I did! Thank you Joe Dart!
Holy shit, something about seeing Joe with some grey in his beard just hit me about how long these guys have been around. I remember seeing a Facebook ad back around 2011 for their Beastly music video and that was my gateway into the Vulf-verse. 😂
@@takemebacktothen Do yourself a favor and Look at their first shows from that time, there are a lot of them on RU-vid, it's pure gold. These guys have been around for a long time, but from the beginning their funk and groove were on top of their game
This being the bass he used at the Stubbs shows in Austin is pretty nuts. Sounded fantastic live, couldnt have told you the difference from the mainline Joe Dart!
@@LorenzoDeLeon ordering the bass. No, I don’t know a lot about how much of tone is technique vs gear. I’m a horn player and have been wanting to learn bass for years. I decided to make the leap after the Stubbs shows. I’ve been shopping for instruments for the last month and found the information overload daunting. Since I know how good this can sound, I’ll be able to focus on technique as I learn.
@@rjptpt Great decision ! Bass is quite easy to learn and reach a decent level where you can play with others - as long as you can keep the beat and play in tune :-) Now I would not recommend this bass as a first instrument. Sure it is basic and you won’t get overwhelmed by technical issues but I’d go with a jazz bass clone - a cheap Squier or a Sire - for the same price you’ll have more tone options and I think as a newcomer experimenting to find your sound is a good thing. That said if you have a crush for the Joe Dart toy well go for it !
@@LorenzoDeLeon thanks! I’ll take that advice & get one of those while waiting for my shipment in November. Hopefully I’ll have some level of proficiency when the Dart arrives.
I'm right handed myself however I have strong feelings that manufacturers should have an obligation to produce an option for all my left handed brothers and sisters in the world.
Yeeeesss please. A Lefty version via a UK distributor..then we’d be cooking ;) I think it’s great this cheaper version exists at all mind! Well done for that…but…can you squeeze a lefty into the mix?
I think the most interesting part of this ad is watching Joe Dart get that into the groove™ of that The Affordable Joe Dart Bass bass and even though it's a demonstration recorded outside probably just to show it off a little looks like it turned into a fun jam
I am devastated that I missed the order period by just weeks :( Please bring back this amazing deal! I've been wanting to learn bass lately and this would have been the perfect introduction
This is huge!! First there was the Sterling SB14 which comes close to the original in specs, but it's almost impossible to get. And if you get it, it's much more expensive still. Now this! 🤤 The one I currently use to come close to your sound is a an Aria Pro II RSB Standard. A downsized P bass with a slim neck and the pickup almost in the StingRay location, equipped with flats.
I found out today, and ordered one immediately. Great-looking bass, great vibes, at a killer price. As a rule, I don't even buy new instruments at MSRP! But I think this is a great buy, and more importantly than that, I want Sterling & Music Man to know that I *really* like and support direct sales, and for a desirable instrument at a highly competitive price such as this, I will put my money where my mouth is.
I love this so much! And I'm really thankful you guys gave us average Joe's an opportunity to own a legit joe dart bass. I hope that all the instruments ordered throughout this month are built with the same quality and attention to detail as the prototype (affordable) Joe dart bass that he mentions playing on stage in Austin
Just preordered this!! So glad I didn’t impulse buy the SB14 that came out this year that looks similar to this! It’s gonna be a long 6 month wait until I can record myself playing “Dean Town” on it for the social meeds!
The overall savings for the quality you’re getting would make the trip practically free. 😅 I’m not saying you should move to Northeast L.A. , but it’s worth the trip.
Will not be able to see Vulfpeck play in the Netherlands this year + been thinking about getting a second bass to play funky tunes on. Then this video dropped. For the last hour I've been rationalising why this is a perfect deal. Then reality hit me with the shipping costs. Look at that knob though. Long stort cut short: I've ordered the bass and untill november I'll pretend it'll get shipped for free. :D
Joe the fact that you're a literal bass hero and making sure the next generation gets/stays inspired with an instrument they can afford is fucking beautiful man. God Bless you
@@SakinCorap compensating for what? My long arms that fit a long bass perfectly? Yes I will keep using a long bass to compensate for the length of my long arms.
Got one! I can't wait to play this once November comes around! Question, will it have neck dive like the last model or has the body been tweaked a bit?
Clearly these people don't know what "Sterling" means, price wise. =) Awesome that you've managed to put out an affordable bass Joe, you'll be able to reach many more people with that!
@@BD-zg7is Oh they're perfectly good quality, but like Squier for Fender, LTD for ESP and other such brands, they're mass produced in the far east, and very rarely cost even a thousand dollars. The most expensive Sterling by Music Man guitar I can find right now for sale is their top of the line version of the John Petrucci Majesty signature model for 1.5k€ on Thomann, by comparison the cheapest made in the USA Music Man version of the same guitar is 4.5k€. So yeah, it's certainly not that they're not good, Joe played this cheaper model on stage and it sounded great, but these brandings just are cheaper and made in the far east. Though being made in the far east isn't a bad thing either, the CNC machine doesn't care where the factory it's inside of is located, and it doesn't care about the nationality of the person pressing the GO button either... =)
Omg ! I knew that Sterling Sb14 from NAMM was a test to see if these would sell. I got the last one on the internet and took the pickguard off and it looks just like a Joe Dart bass with 2 knobs lol. If I would of just waited 1 more month
Okay if Joe Dart approaches me with a microphone and a bass, I would pull out a pen... EVEN if I don't bring one... I'll conjure one out of sheer will, and have him sign something I possessed at a time.
SOMAMA QUAGGLEYCRANKS!! I’m just deciding if I should get 1 or 2 of them for myself and a gift. Probably going to get 2. Thank you for the great deal, now I can pretend I’m Joe Dart!
