The African Continent Is Splitting In Two. What's Happening?

The Earth's surface is not static; it's a landscape constantly changing, shaped by the movements of the underlying tectonic plates. The theory of plate tectonics has revolutionized our understanding of Earth's geological processes, including the formation of continents, mountains, volcanoes, and earthquakes.
One of the most intriguing questions posed by this theory is whether Africa is on the verge of splitting into two continents; mounting evidence suggests that, yes, there will come a day when the entire region of the Horn of Africa will break away from the continent and drift into the ocean.
The evidence comes from studies conducted over the past half-century on the massive scar known as the Rift Valley (also the cradle of human species) and from the long and deep fissures that are opening even today in the lands of Ethiopia and Kenya.
This video, prepared as usual by Insane Curiosity Channel, will attempt to explain the causes of this fascinating phenomenon!

It would be the best thing as it would open up Africa for more coast line. This has been a problem for Africa as they have very few rivers they can use for transportation

Makes you wonder if possibly the Earth was once just a water world billions of years ago, then moon smashed into the earth, cracking the earth's plates and that impact started plate tectonics which has since continued through friction and plate subluxation forming what we have now...

When the crack opens up to the Red Sea and the water from the Red Sea starts gusting through the crack it will speed things up a quite a bit.

That would be a good thing if Africa split in two. That thin slice might be able to become more green as it would be surrounded by water. It would be great for shipping as ships would have a shorter route to travel. I'm not sure how far apart it will be split but the two land areas could be connected by bridges. I'd sure like to see that but I guess we're talking about something that would take thousands of years to happen.

It's called plate tectonics. It has been happening since the planet has existed.

I really don't understand why they call it Latin America anymore. None of these people are Latin, nor do they even speak Latin. The true Latin people come from Latium almost 3,000 years go, which was part of Italy. So if anyone should be called Latin, it should be the Italians. They say it's because the the languages used by the old colonies down there (which are now countries of their own) were ran by the French, Portuguese, and Spanish, which were romance languages that branched out from Latin. But that still isn't Latin. That would be like calling me a Gealic or Germanic American simply because my language and lineage at one time tied back to those people. So it really makes no sense. Not to mention the fact that so-called "Latin" America is a lot more diverse and has a lot of different racial amd ethnic differences between its peoples. So to just lump them into once group like that, or to homogenize the whole of South America and Central America like that is sort of ridiculous. I don't see them calling the United States and Canada "Anglo-America" or one of the other labels I said above in terms of my lineage. So what gives?...lol!

So you're doing a video on tectonics and are clueless to Zealander? New Zealand did not break off of Africa. It is part of a sunken continent called Zealander. Only about 5% of the continent is above water.

“Species” is pronounced SPEE-she’s. Every single time, without fail, I need subtitles because you’re saying it incorrectly... I don’t care what it LOOKS like it’s pronounced that way. SPEE-she’s. I got it drilled into my head in like 8 different science or biology classes. You didn’t? You don’t say the word “laugh” as it’s spell lol. La-Ugh. It’s a French sigh. Also. If you pronounce the “t” in “often” you’re pretentious. Look it up. English is English. Some words just “break” the rules of English in pronunciation vs spelling or it’s been Americanized and otherwise destroyed. Like the words Tokyo, Kyoto, and karaoke lol. But with “karaoke” it’s mispronounced so badly that if you say it correctly in the west there’s a possibility nobody will understand what you’re saying. 😂 Oh another commonly annihilated word is: ukulele. It sounds nicer pronounced correctly, but again, simple North Americans probably won’t catch what you’re saying. 😊

Did bro even think that English can sound so different if spoken by different countries due to their colloquial accents even though they are just speaking the same language. You might not be used on how these people pronounce these words, but in my opinion, the message they are trying to say is understandable. No need to be so sensitive with pronunciation :/
