R.I.P The Agonist 2004-2023...You guys were around for almost 20 years and will be missed as a band, you were my inspiration and favourite band for more than a decade now, hope you will find happiness in your other endeavors, merci pour les headbangs les gars !

Everyone's talking about the vocals, and they're definitely great, but can we acknowledge how awesome the drums are in this song? And really The Agonist in general. To me, Simon McKay is easily as important to the sound of this band as Alissa was

This tune is a true masterpiece that for me has stood the test of time. So melodic, brutal, manic, psychedelic, twisted, unsettling, exhilarating, innovative, and ridiculously proggy. How did they even come up with this insanity that checks so many boxes, craziness and brilliance.

drummer is a beast

The riff at 0:47 is probably one of the best riffs I've ever heard. It's understated, since you can hardly hear it over the vocals, but my lord, it's genius and brutal.

This is my first time hearing this band. I would have to say that she has an amazing growl. Her and the lead singer of Septic Flesh have the best growling I've ever heard. Even live.

The way she harmonizes the screams 1:10 is amazing. I don’t know why more screamers do it.

She mushed together all sorts of vocal change with the ability to adapt to any vocal change and makes a sound fit her.

Honestly since I heard it for the first time (I was around 11-12) I thought it was such a brutal and great song. With time I got to really understand and think about the lyrics and I only liked more. Today I'm 19 close to 20 and tbh I barely listen to metal anymore, but damn this song is so fucking great in so many ways, I still think it needs more recognition.

Lullabies for the Dormant Mind is by far the greatest album of this genre,no Arch Enemy album or anything else will even come close to it

It’s hilarious how I found out about this group, The Agonist, a bit AFTER learning about Arch Enemy, lol. My first time of hearing this, that voice of hers freakin’ terrified me. All I could think was “DANG, I didn’t think a woman’s voice could go that deep in metal !!!!!”, 😆

She seems like a good person' and I assume she's had to go through people telling her how crazy she was being in this sort of band. It's rather inspiring, really. As Alissa said herself (In a song, mind you): "When half a race carries the weight of existence and society shuns most circumstances; reputation screams to conform, and cast out anything deviating from the norm."

2:39 some Morbid Angel vibe in there or is just me? That transition at 1:33 is one of the sickest things I've heard lately. Utter insanity.
