That scream was real and unprocessed... THAT SCREAM WAS 100% LEGIT. That woman is super talented!

This anime's art direction goes so much harder than it has to, it's amazing.

As someone who grew up with social anxiety, Bocchi hits too close to home. Yet it still manages to be hilarious. Dark horse of the season.

The fact that THAT scream doesn't have any filter and is the actual VA screeching like that is kinda amazing lol

it may be worth noting that the glitch effect you're hearing in the VA's voice is actually all her voice acting and not edited at all. the sound director freaked out because he didn't think someone could scream like that

“I can’t take pictures of myself and post them online” Why? “I just can’t” Do you think you’re ugly? “No, I’m average at best.” Do you think people would make fun of you for posting pictures? “No, I doubt barely anyone would look at them” Then why don’t you like taking pictures of yourself? “I can’t” Do you not like seeing your own face? “My face is fine, I walk by mirrors and stuff in the bathroom” Why is that different when it’s a still photo then? “The concept of eternity maybe..? A photo online will always be there? It’s not that I don’t want anyone to look at me but like, what if they do and I enjoy the feeling of attention and get in over my head? I don’t want that.” So you’re afraid of becoming a ‘bad’ person if you post selfies online? “Well, it’s not that much of a concern.” Then what’s the reason? Every action has an underlying reason, can you not figure out yours? “I just can’t take pictures of myself. I’ll physically gag at the idea or try to hide. I’m not sure why it’s this way anymore but it just has been for so long it’s second nature at this point” That’s not healthy “Yeah I’m sure it’s not”

I feel the need to post a bit of a PSA after reading some of the comments here, as someone with ASD that got misdiagnosed for the first 28 years of my life as treatment resistant anxiety, depression and panic attacks: If this actually, unironically, closely resembles your experience of 'social anxiety', and anxiety treatments haven't worked out well for you, please get evaluated by a professional specializing in autism ASAP, (if you can, it can definitely be a challenge) because this is legit pretty close to what autistic meltdowns often look, sound, and feel like, And mine have only started getting remotely manageable now that I understand that I was experiencing overstimulation and meltdowns this entire time, not anxiety and panic attacks. Seriously, years and years of failed treatments and now suddenly I can go outside, go for a walk in the park, and talk to my neighbors without having to curl up in a ball on the floor and scream afterwards, almost entirely because I understand what's happening and have coping methods that actually work now. Get double and triple checked if at all possible, because psychiatrists are human beings who make mistakes and have holes in their knowledge too, especially with regards to autism. Take care of yourselves, everyone.

I love this anime because I'm able to both laugh at Bocchi and empathize with her completely. People. Are. Scary

If the entire anime is a fraction as creative as this clip, I'll have to call up the animators and find out who their dealer is.

One thing I haven't seen anyone mention, I love the music during this scene, from the intensity during the screeching, to the epicness when she turns into a monster, to the sad piano after that, it all adds SO MUCH to the overall chaotic feel.

This series has surprised me in many ways the animation the changing art direction Jesus and the VO’s are on point Boochi especially having a ball!

Literally a mix between K-On and Yuru camp which are two of the most wholesome anime I've ever seen and this is just great along with the great characters and animation and most of all, the music!

Bocchi the Rock is just one of those shows that is absolutely hilarious but also very strangely super relatable due to social anxiety aspect that is Bocchi. Easily the sleeper hit of the season and in all honesty the entire year. Its probably the best thing that aired in 2022 imo

The art direction of this series is a friggin' wellspring of delight.

this is my fave anime of the season, whether it's the best is another discussion entirely, but the author's passion for music is contagious and the authenticity is charming and is really engaging, it's the anime that i'm most looking forward to at the end of the week. i'm watching this with my gf and she has social anxiety and apparently the anime is painfully accurate, even the bits that i thought were exaggerated. i really hope it performs well and we continue to see more

The universe drew me to this anime. Idk why but i watched the first episode and completely fell in love with bocchi. Wasn't surprised when it won all its awards. Some of the songs are on my Playlist.
