I'm appreciating all the technical bits in the Kennan videos, I'm glad the team has found a way to make Doug DeMuro-style content that's still unique and informative
No, it's just duplication of his rise, which now is to promote C&B and enjoy his deserved wealth while pawning off day to day tasks to people less competent. That's all.
By the way… I love the way that he does not shy away from saying Italian words as they should. Doug, still the best car reviewer, usually kills any foreign words, Italian or otherwise. 😂😂😂
Having owned or spent expensive track time in seat time as press cars in all three, I totally agree with this take - the best performance, Sedan Dash and unless it’s an early year or one of the rare lemons, a very reliable car
Alfa reliability ratings these days regularly are at or above the other big guys. I have no idea why they aren't yelling this from the roof tops as it would probably really help sales in the US.
I traded in a 2017 Cadillac CTS-V for 2019 Giulia Quadrifolgio. The QV is lighter and more nimble, and more comfortable (I didn't realize how uncomfortable the Cadillac Recaro racing seats were, pressing on my lower back, until I changed to the Alfa Romeo). The ride is equally comfortable as the Cadillac, as they both have the real time damper adjusters, the power is about equal, although the CTSV-V with its 740 hp supercharged V8 is quicker off the line, but once they get going the QV pulls at least as well, although the CTS-V has a top speed of 200 mph, and the Alfa Romeo only 191 mph. Of course being in the United States and not taking it to the track, I never took it over 125 mph, which I reached a few times for a few seconds on the interstate. The problem with the Cadillac was a recurring torque converter issue and quality control of body fit, compounded in my case by probable undisclosed (and denied) repaired front end damage before I bought the car, new.
Glad to see Kennan find his groove and own style. My only gripe with the Giulia Quad is the lack of an AWD offering. They offer AWD in the base and Ti. It could be an Audi killer and a reasonable option for buyers in the snow belt.
I had this car for three years and after you hit 10K miles the mileage goes up significantly. I was consistently getting 32 mpg on the highway and about 20.5 in the streets. It was amazing.
Have a 2019. Amazing car. The aero on the car really makes the car so glued to the road. Amazing grip for the power it has. On the limit the car feels like a full blown supercar. None of my previous M3s gave me that feeling despite being amazing cars in their own right.
@carsandbids no problem. It took me a long time to really know the car. Race mode with dampers in mid is the sweet spot. I drive like this 99 percent of the time. The car feels so alive in race.
@jlopez1017d so far i havnt had any issues with the car. Just regular servicing. Didn't have much issues with my m3s either. Put throttle actuators into both of my e92s but other than those it was regular maintenance. The qv engine is ferrari. And its got the zf gearbox ..same box bmw use for the m cars. Very solid robust hardware.
I'm not sure if it's me just noticing the channel more all of a sudden, but the nerdy details like the benefit of double wishbone suspension is super nice! As a nerd in most aspects of my life, this knowledge fuels me.
I wanted to comment on how Kennen videos grew on me since he started and how cool is his focus on engineering side and then I saw the comment section and it made me happy :) Thanks, Kennen, keep up the good work :D
Kenzoil is becoming one of my favorite car RU-vidrs - I love all the technical geeky details that he shows and explains. Keep up the great work!!! Daddy Doug can be proud.
I really like these shorter, more focused reviews on cars previously covered in depth. I would like to see more short “buyers guide” videos where common maintenance issues and reliability concerns are the focus. There is so much knowledge in the C&B community, but there’s unfortunately not a single place to ask questions/get information. It would be a lot easier than scouring various car forums looking for info on specific vehicles
Who needs ol’ Doug Demuro!? Very enjoyable video by Kennan. What’s more is how supportive Doug’s fan base has been about incorporating different personalities into the videos. As long as we’re getting quality content from a poorly dressed car nerd we will support it! Great video. Thanks!
Kennan, THIS …review resonated so well. You did your homework and then some. I related well to every comment including your technical observations. Yes the money was spent on engineering and suspension primarily equipped with a fast shifting transmission. It’s a truly bespoke car that remains well balanced for a sports sedan even seven years after inception with little change in the engineering. I cannot emphasize how well researched your facts are coming from a BMW enthusiast. Thank you for enlightening us with your knowledge and genuine passion. It’s a refreshing departure from the other reviews with a focus on this bespoke car.
Can you do all the Alfa review from now on?? ahahah Doug is always way to harsh on them and I feel they never got a fair shake. And thank you for mentioning the interior materials, coz that leather dash, even on non Quad models, is fantastic and better than the german counterparts. Godd Vid
Fantastic job 👏! Regular guy giving nerd stats and information. Cars and bids is really nailing it. This is the extra content I didn't know I wanted 👏👏👊
How not to love this Alfa? Jeremy Clarkson was right: You can't be a true petrolhead until you've owned an Alfa Romeo. This one? Definitely, one of my most wished cars ever.
I've had many BMWs (including 21 M5C and 19 M2C) but none are as much fun to drive as my Giulia QV. The Jekyll and Hyde nature are second to none. You can take the car for a long trip and it absorbs all the bumps like a luxury car and then you put it in race mode and it can give a Porsche a run for its money on the track, which is why it was faster than the 911 GT3 (older generation) at the Nurburgring.
Great video Kennan! Would be a replacement candidate for my Stinger GT, but the reliability worries :( I think I have to stick with a warrantied Korean...
You could do a certified pre-owned. The Koreans have a terrible reputation for reliability…I think I’d sleep better at night with an Italian car in my driveway
@@jthrelf something happened to the Koreans in 2020. Look at consumer reports. Look at C&D’s long-term tests. Reliability scores just fell off a cliff. News is dominated by the Kia boys or the theta II. The cars are junk
Giulias and stelvios are pretty good and reliable now, they've had 8 years to sort them out. Avoid a sunroof at all costs tho. Maintenance is quite a bit more expensive than kia tho
Hopefully we can get a bit more of a tour for the cars i love the new style but we also came to look around the car, Doug last did a quad video 6 years ago! Im sure it changed a little since then 😅
@@carsandbids no the cars featured in the videos that Kennan do it would be great if Kennan also did a quick tour like how Doug does revision videos where he points out only new features.
The amazing thing about this car is that they made more affordable versions that dint feel like rental cars. This is just a wonderful car and remains the only Stellantis vehicle that I still lust after. Awesome video Kennzoil!
This is one of the top two cars I have ever owned in terms of fun. My 2004 Pontiac GTO is also a riot. This car is sophisticated and powerful, the GTO is just stupid and unsophisticated farm equipment but it’s still fun.
Modern Alfas of the 20teens are as reliable as any other manufacturer out there. Maybe more so. The only issues I have really heard of center around the factory battery which I would swap IMMEDIATELY with a Bosch or Interstate brand. There are plenty of videos that show you how to do this as well as clear the codes that will result after disconnecting the negative terminal. This will save you money at the dealer as well as save you a headache and $$ by eliminating the OEM Alfa battery.
Kennan coming into his own...technical references (which I don't understand but appreciate so it's a learning experience) is great. He proves nerds hang out with nerds but with different skill sets. Not sure about the quasi-Italian pronunciation though...would he say Toyoda Corora? Good game Kenzoil. Doug is THIS, Kennan is THAT.
The only thing I have against the QV is that it just can't compete against M3's off the line, even less so against the xdrive version or even an RS5 cause of AWD. And most daily drivers want that quick acceleration from a stand still. Aside from that major drawback IMO, it does hold its own pretty well against those M3's and RS5's once you're cruising around 20mph or above. Though you'll still lose the race, but the feel and sound of the drive is still awesome. Just don't expect to pull up next to an M3, RS5 or any other decent AWD sports car, and beat them off the line lol not happening..
Just as Doug prophetized Kennan really goes into the details which I appreciate, nice work!. Random sidenote why do both Doug and Kennan show the number 3 with their fingers like some fancy Europeans?
Hi Kennan, great video, great car. I like the format and the similarities with Doug's channel, but can I make a suggestion? Find your own body language. Nothing wrong in emulating the great Doug, but you have the opportunity to make your mark. But you do you. Cheers, mate!
@@carsandbids It's amazing that you responded. I really appreciate this interaction. Not many YTbers engage the fans like that, ya know? You are awesome, dude.
I have never owned a sedan in my life but man this would be it for me. I love everything about these cars. I saw a beautiful metallic green quad with carbon fender flares on a tow truck yesterday (of course) nicest spec I've ever seen.
I feel like the manual transmission that was available throughout the first model years here in Europe is gonna be very rare and sought after in the future. Sadly as a 19 year old I cannot afford to buy / invest in such a car
Please add small signs with the metric system translation at the bottom of the screen, as you used too, it really helps me dygest the numbers and statistics
Awsome vid Kennan, very instructive. keep teaching us the good stuff. you can put a section about watches too ,considering you usually wear a regular oyster and on this you go for the GMT Master, or is ti the GMT II? I love watches and couldn't help myself LOL!
@@carsandbids ha ha, no necessarily but I'm sure Kennan is into watches. If you like those things or cars for that matter or vintage hifi, you can tell. it's an enthusiasts thing.
