So, I bought the 23 Ikon 52. Just under 30 days and 1.7 hours, it smoked the mower deck belt. Mind you, the mow was not under stress as it was end of April. I bought it from a big box store, and was told there would be a about a week turn around on the warranty repair. At a week, I called the service center, and he told me a week and a half. I was ok with that. He also mentioned, mine was only the second Ariens product he had in, so I felt pretty good about it. At two weeks. I called him back. He said, he does not know now, as he has 9 of these units in. The place I got it from let me swap it out for another. Obviously there is an issue on these units. This new Ikon 52 I have now has a little bit of a later serial number on it, so in hopes maybe there was a correction made on it. If this one does it, I am in hopes they will have discovered the problem on my earlier unit, because I really want to love this machine.

Upgrades look nice. I bought the XD52 for 2999 at the end of 2021. Definitely glad I did with the price increases.

Nice upgrades, darn it. I should've waited one more year. But I'm very happy with my two Ariens!

I like that they added armrests and headlights. And a larger tank. I couldn't really find those options unless i went to the next tier of mower.

I just bought one today, I have 4.5 acres, it’s all flat…….. it made my yard look like a golf course, the only complaint I have is when I was putting it up I noticed the left headlight was flickering and it went out. But that has nothing to do with how the mower preforms which is amazing, it didn’t even use a full tank of gas mowing.

First off - I can now mow my almost 3 acres in about 1/2 the time it took with my other mower... I have had the Mustang 50 for almost 2 years now... Maintenance is easy - the Kohler Motor is "out in the open" and everything, except for the oil filter, is VERY easy to get to... To change the oil filter I have learned to fold the seat forward - no problem now... The deck is SUPER easy to drop... Rememb..

I've got a 2022 model . Wish I had waited for the 2023. Something I have problems with is the anti scalp wheel placement on the left side. the sharp edge of the deck digs into even a mild hillside. Then scars the turf .plus you turn into it more. I like that they see where improvements were needed and resolved them. Currently it's in the shop the brake shaft on the hydrostatic transmission is leaking . (Like 60hrs on it) no fault of aliens. It just socks. My old husqvarna rz5426 has like 1500 hrs with very few problems. Mostly the mower deck is beat to he'll. I know I know same transmissions I'm just lucky. Not! Anyway it's been 2 weeks in the shop I guess I'll call them tomorrow. The grass is getting long in arkansas.

next time maybe show more of the machine in terms of serviceability and access to the components

I have a 2021 IKON XD52 with the Kawasaki engine and one thing I noticed they changed for no apparent reason is the location of the fuel filler neck. The way the new neck is positioned will make it difficult to fuel if you have a rigid funnel on your can like I do. I have two five-gallon Eagle safety cans and I couldn't fuel this unit without replacing the attached funnel with a goose neck design. I'm glad I bought mine when I did. It's been absolutely no trouble at all, and I mow two acres weekly.

I was hoping to hear if it has sealed bearings. The dealer I spoke with was heavy on cosmetic sales.

Hopefully they fixed the misalignment drive pully issue that shreds drive belts.

Hi, great review! Question: How wide is the 52” with bagger attachment option? I have a shed and wouldn’t want to have to remove the bagger after every use. The 52” is on sale but the 48” is not. Thanks! Dave

Ready to pull the trigger on one of these. Tossed between the 2023 Ikon shown above and the Husqvarna Z254F Special Edition. Ariens seems built like a tank. I absolutely DISLIKE the deck discharge being wide open on the Hvarna under the plastic chute... kinda disappointed that the IKON has a slightly recessed area now at the discharge as well... unlike the EDGE where the metal deck fully covers the discharge opening. Anyone want to sell me on either the 2023 HK254FSE or the 2023 IKON 52 ?????? Hard to get a fair read/comparison since they are both NEW!!!

Can you keep it under a roof with a tarp over it. My shed isn't big enough looking to replace it next year with a bigger one.

There Junk had so many problems with mine … I even text to see why my belts keeped popping on my XD 52 they never responded back… it was a 2021 model … sold it bought a John Deere … dam … Night and day best thing I done … Ariens has to many flaws

John deere updated their z300 series to similar specs and price. Nice mowers,but $4000 is out of the question,at least for me. I can get a really nice tractor $1000 less.

You lost me at non serviceable transmissions

I have one. I call it "the orange turd". It's the biggest pile of junk I've ever owned. I have a video series on it on my channel. One has 443,000 views. My Ikon Envy is a HOT MESS.

Love my ariens with Briggs & Stratton engine, So you Lost me at Kawasaki engine which due to my experience sux.

DONT BUY AN ARIENS THEY ARE JUNK buy a used toro or exmark for less and have less problems. new doesnt always mean better. the deign and junk self contained hydro-gear transaxle you cant get to... to refiill because they start leaking after 30 hours... causes you to have to take whole mower apart to add oil.. other then that ive had to replace springs, many upon many belts... frame has cracked and this UNIT barely Used - little over 300 hours... I had a toro with over 2500 hours and had less issues
