In this episode we a do a full in depth review of the Orient MAKO 3. The rising star in quality affordable watch's. Is it the new SKX on the watch world?
Great review on this new Orient. I own 4 Orient watches . The latest Mforce watch , the Mforce Bravo watch , the first Orient Triton with power reserve and just recently purchased a Orient Ray 2 with Orange dial . Orient is definitely the new what Seiko use to be to watch collectors. They make amazing watches at very affordable prices.
Mako 3 and Kamusu are definitely the new SKX with better movt & crystal for the same price. SKX design/look is unrivaled though but sadly it is a martyr now.
Great comment. They are definitely the new entry to get started into watch’s. How long before seiko does a reinterpretation of the SKX? Thanks for commenting. Cheers.
I love the 6 9 12 numerals on the dial and the bigger crown vs the Kamasu, which just has way too small of a crown, IMO. I got a Mako 3 a few days ago, in the grey dial version. It’s a killer watch! Also, in my experience, the Orient F6922 performs better and more consistently than the Seiko NH35 movement. I really like the Mako 3 and it has not left my wrist since I got it, which for me is the best measure of how much I’m enjoying a watch. I still like my Kamasu, but that tiny crown is hard for my big fingers to grip. Agreed that the Mako 3 is a winner. The price, while not too bad, should come down a bit soon.
Awesome on purchase. Yeah I’m really liking this watch. I have regulated the sirloin to get way better time than what comes from the factory. The Grey is really nice also. I’m sure this will be an awesome watch in the long run. Hope you subscribed, and thanks for watching.
Thank you for the review. I am thinking of buying an Orient diver and I am leaning towards the RA-AC0K04E10B because I like the 4 c'clock crown position. And yes, Seiko's current prices have soured me on the brand. I recently bought a Seiko Atlas SKZ211K1 for a very reasonable price... the lowest priced Seiko diver type watch I could find. I am happy with it and especially like the quirky compass feature.
Thanks for watching. I think any orient you buy you will be extremely happy with. Good luck on what you pick. Thanks for watching and hope you subscribe.
@@George_Lewis the atlas is really cool. I have seen them but never gotten my hands on one. I have heard them called the land shark also. Very cool watch and thanks for subscribing.
I think Orient watches stand on their own against any competitor. I have Seiko’s as well, which I like also. I don’t understand why anyone would pay Rolex prices for a product that is no better than Orient. Maybe they feel insecure getting excellence for a reasonable price.
Totally understand Orient is a solid watch for sure I do love my watch. As for why people buy Rolex, Tudor that’s a whole nother dicussion. Same thing can go into why people buy certain cars over others, or TVs. They all do the same thing get you from point A to point B, or they give a show. My wife wears a Rolex and it’s her only watch and the only she we will wear. To each their on own on how they want to spend their money. We are not coming back lol, we only got one life so fill it things that make life fun and enjoyable. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@DivingIntoWatches-jb5ri , I agree with you. Excellent response! There are three things at least that effects product cost. 1) The law of supply and greed, quality, and mfrg efficiency. The Japanese have awesome morals and I like doing business in Japan when possible. I have been going to both Europe and Asia for approximately 55 years. I trust them very much. Maybe because I am so fond of Japan I am not objective. Who knows? Wish you all the best.
Skx Is trash compared to mako. Mako caliber is better than much more expensive Seikos. I own dozens of Seikos and lot of makos and makos is way more accurate
Orient is a great watch and mako is great. I do love my SKX, have to disagree with you there. It has been a entry watch for a lot of people and mine is solid and only -1 a day off. Like all iconic watch’s the skx has its place in history. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers.
Orient......in other words Seiko........just a miserable movement that has been around forever and highly unreliable for those who do not spend all day exercising their arms or briskly walking swinging their arms.......you cannot hand wind the bloody thing up and over time the movement gets "sticky" and less and less ceases to wind itself up sufficiently. Orient or Seiko are not fit to tie the boot laces of a Citizen (which can, of course, be wound up by hand !). WARNING.....Do not buy your grandfather an automatic Orient or a Seiko !
Hmm, never had that issue. And I have a seiko I wore for 21 years in the Army and three combat deployments. Orient movement is in house and developed long before seiko bought. Bummer you had mad experience with both companies. Thanks for the comment.
What a ridiculous rant full of inaccuracies. Seiko is not the same as Orient and both have hand winding movements including this one. Only older, out of production Seiko/Orient use non hand winding movements. Also many of Citizen’s newer watches use older, noisy, crap Miota movements.
