I'm really happy I stumbled on your channel. Your videos are so relaxing and I'm learning about RPGs that I hadn't heard of before. Plus seeing a gamer who is older makes me genuinely smile. I've always heard people complain about how playing games as an adult is childish or whatever. I'm proud to subscribe to your channel and I'm all the more inspired to keep playing and create gaming videos of my own one day.
I discovered your channel just an hour ago but I already adore it! Your walk through the Xenoblade series was so informative and well versed! My mother is a big fan of JRPGs and I’m sure she’ll adore the passion and interest you show in your videos! 🧡
Oh my god I am playing Alliance Alive on the Switch right now and I am so envious of those physical art books! There is a digital option but physical is still the best way to go. Glad to have stumbled upon your channel. :)
Recently found your channel and am working my way through your videos - great to see these two games in your collection and getting lots of play! I loved Legend of Legacy as a big fan of the SaGa style and Hamauzu, so much so that I gritted my teeth and bought the digital-only Alliance Alive for 3DS on release day. I hope we see more from them.
Beautiful editions. I have Legend of Legacy, which I bought (despite poor reviews) on the strength of its art style and a couple of dissenting opinions; really glad to hear you enjoyed it. For now it still languishes in the backlog, but I'm doubly determined to play it with your recommendation. I was really gutted when the Alliance Alive did not get a physical PAL release for 3DS, so it will be the remastered Switch version for me! (One day...) Can't wait for your impressions video!
I really think the Switch version is the best option in this case. If you like SaGa games, you really can't go wrong with these FuRyu games. But don't expect the difficulty level of SaGa! 😄
Came back to rewatch this one after the recent Legend of Legacy release. I wrote this one off due to some of the criticisms, but the more I look at it, the more appealing it's becoming. Also, you've piqued my interest regarding the music. I absolutely love videogame soundtracks. That's basically all I listen to. I think I'll have to give this one a shot!
Please bear in mind that my video is not actually a review as such. My comments about the game are based on my love of it despite its flaws. I don't entirely disagree with some of the criticism. My main gripe would be that they did not do any work to bring the game a bit more in line with current gaming processes - i.e. some Quality of Life adjustments would have gone a long way towards making this an even better game. Just wanted to clarify that!
@@Food4Dogs ah, right, thanks! I would also like to clarify that when I commented "I wrote this one off due to some of the criticisms," I was referencing criticisms other reviewers mentioned in their videos for the remake, and not anything specific you mentioned in yours. But in particular, another reviewer mentioned how you can't compare equipment stats when shopping for gear- that's absolutely mind-boggling! Talk about resurrecting an issue solved back in the NES days! But anyways, I am looking forward to giving this one a go, the art style looks fantastic 😍
No worries, you phrased it quite clearly and I did understand that you were referring to other reviewers, and that's why I mentioned that I don't disagree with some of the criticism. 😀 In particular, anything to do with equipment seems to be 'cursed' with user-unfriendly menu design - it's irritating, yes. If they had fixed just that one issue (menu UI), it would've gone a long way towards keeping everyone happier. Another equipment related "feature" is that you can only edit characters' equipment when you have them in the active party! This is something I have come across in a few other older RPGs and always found it irksome. So, yea, ya gotta have some patience and liberal tolerance when playing this game! 😄
I first played Alliance Alive on 3DS and enjoyed it very much, so I decided to check out its predecessor. Going backwards was a surprise, since like you mentioned, Alliance Alive is pretty forgiving with its battle system and has a deeper story whereas Legend of Legacy has almost none. I do like the idea of leveling and learning skills in combat versus the more common character leveling system. I hope to finish Legend of Legacy soon, as I'm still stuck on building my characters' skills.
Ah, I see you are a woman of culture. Have to say that I do have at my collection both games for the 3DS but not the ones with all this content, have spent more than 85 hours playing The Legend of Legacy.
It's not often I meet a fellow fan of Legend of Legacy. Such an underappreciated game. At one point, I became so engrossed with forming parties, I played the game *concurrently* on 2 3DS consoles! 😄
Britta Food4Dogs You must be my soulmate because I got as well two copies of Legacy, the digital version which I use at my New Nintendo 2DS XL and the physical version for my 2DS, recently purchased this last one because I don't want to overwrite my previous save states, can I ask you your favorite team ?
