I'm like sooooooooo wow!!! I remember coming home from first grade and sitting at the table and hearing that song on my mom's 96.5 FM smooth rock channel-for many years even into HS.

I used to work 3rd shift with my mom at Columbia Bicycle and we rode together and every morning coming home Rambling man would be on the radio and me and my mom would sing along watching the sun come up. Well, she passed away 6 years ago and every time I hear that song I remember those days. I miss mom and now Dickey. Thanks for the great memories, Dickey Betts!

You are totally right! Those our age grew up on southern rock, and it deeply impacted our souls. No other music stirs our hearts and grounds our souls like it! It makes me a better person listening to southern rock, and if I may say, it guides me to the God who created us. Good ole southern boys! Rip Allman Bros, you still live with us.

My dad took my brothers & I to see Dickey Betts when we were young… he would play at a venue on the Boardwalk in Ocean NJ… couldnt truly appreciate it until i was grown… but i can’t thank him enough… we are a very musical family so i was just happy to see live music that everyone seem really excited about… especially my old man. I cherish those memories… RIP Dickey, a true American Guitar Legend…

Hats off to Dickey- what a master. Duane was a natural, killer blues player, but Dickey was the master of the major diatonic scale…what a treat to have two genius players in one band. Wish I could’ve seen them in their heyday.

In 1972 my brother and I were in junior bowling leagues. The song was so popular, the bowlers plugged juke box full of quarter's to play Rambling Man twenty consecutive times!

I remember the very time I heard this song back in 1973 I was only 13 years young and the reason it brings back so many memories is because that was around the same time I started smoking marijuana with a neighbor of mine and yes those were the good ole days when I didn't have a care in the world...R.I.P."DICKIE BETTS" for an AWESOME song and may you GOD rest your soul 🙏🙏🙏

He was as humble as you could be. IMO he never got the recognition he deserved. His contribution to music with his country flavored blues and the twin guitar harmonies is immeasurable. R.I.P.

One of the best live versions of "Ramblin' Man" on here. And I've seen a lot of em. Dickey B in fine form. Plus you get to see Berry Oakley playing. How great is that? I keep comin' back to this video like a moth would to a porch light.

OK but this was when the band was at their worst. It was post Duane and pre Derek Trucks. So all that you had was Dickey's watered down solos. Don't get me wrong I enjoy it but it's not the Allman Bros. doing their best work.

I’d argue Butch and Jaimoe were the backbone. There was no other drum sound like that in any popular music back then. Those guys often get overlooked because of the obvious talents up front, but there is no one on earth who can play like Butch Trucks. Him and Jaimoe together is every bit as important to the ABB sound as Duane and Dickey were.
