Lyrics:
Seven turns on the highway,
Seven rivers to cross.
Sometimes, you feel like you could fly away,
Sometimes, you get lost.
And sometimes, in the darkened night,
You see the crossroad sign.
One way is the mornin light,
You got to make up your mind.
Somebody's callin your name.
Somebody's waiting for you.
Love is all that remains the same,
That's what it's all comin to.
Hey, yeah.

It's one of mine as well, but hardly anyone seems to know it not even a lot of ABB fans. I saw the band when they were touring on this album, and I fell in love with this song the first time I ever heard it. I sometimes harmonize with Dickey when I'm playing Seven Turns in my car, although sometimes I also sing with Gregg near the end of the song. ❤️

@bethwright8595 3 месяца назад
@@chantalferrara7114Check out the Allman Betts band led by Gregg's son Devon Allman and Dickey's son Duane Betts. Each of them also has their own band, as Berry Duane Oakley, who played with them originally but seems floated away. And every year in recent years they do a tour called the Allman Family Revival, which features lots of other great musicians - enough to stretch across the entire stage for the finale - playing the Allman Brothers Band's catalog. I can't say whether they'll do it again this year but I went to the last one in Macon and it was unforgettable! I sometimes fondly refer to The Allman Betts Band as ABB v.2! They started out doing mostly their fathers' songs, and they still do some of them, but they have several albums out and they're great. I can see their songwriting and performance dynamics improving each time I see them. For example, at the most recent show I've seen, they did a version of In Memory of Elizabeth Reed which was a highly improvisational jam of their own yet still faithful to the original version. ❤

So very sad, prayers, sympathies, and condolances to Mr. Betts' family, my much adored legendary one and only Dickey Betts is now hopefully jamming in heaven with Duane, Butch, Lamar, Gregg, Berry. One of the true greatest guitarists EVER, a virtuoso of rock, blues, swing, country and more, and one of my very favorite singer songwriters too, I just LOVE Seven Turns, Revival, Blue Sky, Where It All Begins, and also his solo work, Nancy, Duane's Tune. The Memories I have of seeing and hearing Dickey perform and play live, just awesome. When I first saw him playing Duane's Tune in 1989 at the Allman Brothers Band 25th Anniversary and Dreams Boxed Set Reunion at Merriweather Post Pavillion in Columbia, Maryland, I jammed and rocked my you know what off, I saw Mr. Betts perform many times in concert and was blessed to meet him backstage. Rest in the great band in the Blue Sky Mr. Betts!

Gonna be such a tragedy when we finally lose Dickey. Not looking forward to that. 😔 Thank God his son Duane is carrying on the legacy...and I guess we could thank Dickey for having a son that looks *EXACTLY* like him when he was around that age. He even plays like Dickey lol. But I'd expect it since his daddy is his favorite guitarist. 😎👍❤️ And unlike the Earnhardts in NASCAR, I'm sure Dickey taught Duane to play, and likely played with him often where Earnhardt Sr didn't teach Jr to race and they never talked about it really.

I've spent the last couple hours listening to ABB tunes on my laptop. This song is probably my absolute favorite that he wrote. I've been a fan since the late 70's and had only one opportunity to see them in the late 80's. The music world has lost one of the greatest legends of all time. My only solace is that Dickie has rejoined his lost brothers Duane, Greg, Barry, and Butch in heaven. My condolences go out to his family and band mates. Keep rocking in heaven brother!

I lost my Mother 44 years ago in an automobile accident when I was a freshman in College and I always feel her calling my name from time to time. I've made so many turns on my highway over the many years as this Song always hits home to me. Many were good turns others were not so good at all! and that's why this song always hits home and there's No telling where my journey lies as I always believe this is what this song is about. The older I get the more it hits home as I've lost 6 older brothers and sisters also along my journey! Maybe I'm wrong, but I always believe that's what this song is about.

Hey Suzy Q- what about Warren Haynes? Of course no one can play slide like Duane but he's channeling Duane's spirit. And I like Dickey Betts and his guitar playing and singing and I don't like that they fired him.

Beautiful slide work at the end by Mr. Warren Haynes, since nobody’s talking about that, I had to mention it! :D

He was one of the greats and carried a heavy load after losing Duane and Berry. Now they are together again along with another great Gregg. One of the best bands I ever heard and they were all babies when they made their incredible music. God bless you all 🙏🏻

I know they had their ups and downs, but one thing I can certainly cross off my bucket list is getting to see Gregg and Dickey play together and they were amazing. When those two were "on" they were incredible!

This song makes me so homesick. What I wouldn't give to go back to 1990 when this was released...even for one day.

I can only hear this song every so often, it sweetness saddens me and touches me deep. On the other side, Dickey Betts nailed the message farther than he will know!!! Thank you Dickey and The Allman Brothers Band.

RIP Butch Trucks and thanks for the music. This is a sad day and I am going to play ABB all night long. Warren - Dickey - Woody was my dream lineup of the band, Seven Turns was the best album.
