Nowadays they're too worried about putting transgenders and gays in their productions. It's why I canceled Disney +.... I grew up in 90's so luckily my generation never had to deal with such degeneracy.
Sand Hill cranes always take their dear sweet time when crossing the road. My family actually received a free trip to Buch Gardens when I was younger because my dad recovered a sand hill crane that was hit by a vehicle and transferred him to their animal care center. It was an interesting experience going behind the scenes to their rescue center and driving three hours next to a crane sitting next to me in a cage.
I remember going to the preview center for Celebration after a few of the houses were built as models. I do remember the one right off of 192 but I went to the one in the old Bank of America building. My dad was very interested in new places being built. I remember going into those models. They were very pretty inside.
I shopped in that original Gooding's (where the Thai place is now) quite a few times back in the day. It was very convenient and the only thing we had close to us for quite a while. They eventually left the Celebration downtown area and moved to a much bigger building where the Publix is now. The prices were extremely expensive and it didn't last that long. The older Publix that was across 192 near the other Walgreens put it out of business. Our current Publix ended up tearing down the Gooding's building and built a new building in its place where it is today. BTW, the first residents moved in on June 18th, 1996.
Thanks to your clogs, my brother and I drove thru Celebration this past February - WOW what a quaint little community. It definite has a small town Disney vibe 🤗
This is an amazing video and I enjoyed every bit of it. It's another time of the year. One need to set goals and take bold steps in achieving them. Remember success are not obtained overnight. It comes in installment; you get a little bit today and a little bit tomorrow until the whole package is given out. The day you procrastinate you lose that day of success.
Well, from my own point of view, you need to invest smartly if you need the good things of life. So far I've made over $325k since September last year in raw profits from just q4 of the market from my diversified portfolio strategy and i believe anyone can do it if you have the right strategy, mutual funds takes long time but investing smartly is the key to short term. Most of us tend to pay more attention to the shiniest in the market to the cost of proper diversification.
@Bianca Arlette My portfolio is very much diversified so it's not like I have a particular fund I invest in, plus I don't do that but myself. I follow the trades of Karen Gaye Gray. She is a popular broker you might have heard of. I can correctly say she's worth her salt as a financial adviser as her diversification skills are top notch, I'm saying because I see that in her results as my portfolio grows by averages of 10 to 15% on a monthly basis, unlike I can say for my IRA which has just been trudging along, my portfolio just mirrors what she trades and not just on some particular industries of my choosing.
Normal people buy in at high prices the stock market goes down, companies but stocks back cheaper by introducing some "disaster" Stock rises after a disaster and the cycle repeats.. Having a good entry and exit strategy, will make you succeed in the stock market.
@Utkarsh Dharmadhikari Yeah exactly. My money stays right in my account. it's all programmatic, plus it's relatively much easier to set up and connect my accounts than creating a financial pan and drafting investment strategies myself, my account just mirrors her trades in realtime.
When it comes to investment, diversification is key. Also have my interest set on the key sectors based on performance and projected growth, do not invest all your money in a particular sector, diversifying across different sectors is the way to go.
Great seeing another video of this lovely town Adam Weirdly we were right there day before with family as we are all over from uk 🇬🇧 And so had to have wonder round Was awesome seeing it all in person Hope to visit again soon enjoying sights of Disney now 😀
Excited to watch this one Adam! You put a lot of efforts into videos like this. Love all the information and back stories about Celebration and Disney 😊 Theresa xo
I just want to say thank you very much on the history lesson of Disney World, I have been a follower of yours for years and I do appreciate everything that you do. Thanks to you when I watch a movie I look towards the backgrounds and see if I can recognize any of the buildings that they show when you did be backstage tours. Once again thank you..
Thank you Adam for another great video. Your ability to blend historical facts with amazing story telling is simply brilliant. These types of videos are among my favorite. Keep them coming!
Hi Cynthia, me and my 25-year-old son will be visiting Disney in mid May We will be staying at a Disney resort but I wanted to check out the celebration area because I always watch Adams videos from there and it is so pretty. We need to stay one night before our main resort somewhere and I was thinking, where do you think would be good in celebration? Do you recommend a specific hotel? are there rentals? Thanks!
Fantastic episode Adam. Really enjoyed and appreciated the research you did. It brings a different depth to your video and it is fun to learn new Disney history.
Thanks for sharing and narrating your research into Celebration FL. Walt was a true original. It's sad he couldn't stick around to see his Florida park finished. Two Thumbz 👍👍
I was born the week of that USA today article for celebration. My family always enjoyed going to celebration during Halloween and Christmas for the decorations
Great video, Adam! I love learning about the history of towns and cities...especially unique ones such as Celebration. I'm looking forward to the next one!!
I love learning about the history. I appreciate you putting in the time and effort to share this all with us! Literally, after the first millisecond of you saying “Michael Graves” I instantly thought of “Michale Graves, the Misfits singer?” I’m more of a Danzig era fan but, I will say, he did sing one of my favorite Misfits song “Don’t Open ‘Til Doomsday”. Great song. Whenever you mention Pennywise I automatically think of the band as well. I cannot wear a Pennywise band shirt anymore without someone saying “ oh!!! Pennywise! Great movie”
I loved this video. Lots of interesting history you've shown. Moving here soon and I too love learning about the places around me. I'm going to start looking for Disney remnants about town.
It's fascinating how Celebration came together. Phillip Johnson designed a lot of notable buildings in downtown Houston and some near the Galleria area.
Great research. I was one of the first people to actually move into celebration in 96. And yes my names on the first row. I had put my name on the waiting list while at feature animation and moved in before any of the businesses opened. Even the theater hadn't been completed. Deer and wildlife would roam main street at night. Fun to see all this history again:)
Were some of the original occupants upset or disappointed when Disney pulled out? I am thinking being part of Disney was a draw to the town and when Disney pulled out it could feel like a betrayal.
I remember a lot of the homes there had issues with water penetration. We looked to buy there in 1999 but bought in Windermere. Love the look of the town of Celebration though.
I will say it again and again.... these are my favorites. Walk, talk, learn some interesting history about your neighborhood....yes I like these the most.... I just like your videos ...
What a fun and insightful video Adam! I first visited Celebration in 1997 and remember going to Goodings Market, (I think they have one over at the Crossroads as well) and we ate at Max’s. We were just there again in June on our WDW trip and walked around Market St. and the lake. BTW: Cesar Pelli designed some of the most stunning massive building towers in world, many used in films. He did the LA Design Center and the silver tower in Costa Mesa next to the arts center.
This almost perfect little town could use a fun little train running somewhere through it, or maybe an old timey trolley that goes around all day, and absolutely some fun swan boats on the lake :) I dunno, I think I learned everything I could ever need to know about Walt's vision for the world just from watching a few candid moments of him gleefully playing with that little live train set he once built in his own backyard... really hope Celebration works things out and eventually brings back that movie theater too. I myself was way more bummed than I ever should have been when I thought a little movie theater in my area was being torn down, recently, and then I cried equally silly tears of joy when I found out Tarantino was saving it. Guess I'm not ready for a world that doesn't appreciate its movie theaters anymore, lol... hey Mickey HouseFace is perfectly terrifying, thanks, 👍
Adam this video came out like a documentary about Celebration and it was awesome and thanks to all your research and screen shots I was able to get a better understanding of what that whole are is really all about and one part I thought was quite fascinating was when you showed the area were you thought there might be water running under the road but in all honesty I was just loving how much research you did to show Celebration in it true form thanks so much Adam for a job well done now with that being said peace ☮️ love ❤️ and happiness to you Adam and I’ll see you on the next vlog adventure wherever it takes you peace ☮️ out ✌️
I previewed Celebration when only several homes were being built. I didn’t move in because of the highly restrictive HOA and the higher cost for property because it was Disney!
Caesar Pelli designed the Wintergarden which once stood in my hometown of NIagara Falls, NY. In fact when you were in Niagara Falls a couple of months ago you were standing in the place where the Wintergarden once stood next to the defunct shopping mall.
HEY ATW...THANK YOU FOR YOUR DILIGENCE IN BRINGING THIS DISNEY History to light. Man, how interesting is the magic behind the appearance of Celebration! It's almost as if Mickey Mouse, as the Sorcerer's Apprentice, waved his arms and there was a town! How cool is that! You are so right about Celebration having the most beautiful architecture and layout. It's like an extension of Walt Disney World!
We lived in Celebration from the earliest weeks in 1996. The Swan Boats never happened but there was sail boats you could rent back then. At least for about 2 years. The company that now rents bikes were behind that idea. In fact, the parents behind that company hired their high school son to work there till he graduated and went off toe college. FYI: as of today of the first 350 families in town there are only 4 left.
A beautiful place we dropped in a few weeks ago while on holiday from the UK the streets were shut off to cars as there was a large craft market with stalls all along the streets and we had breakfast at the downtown cafe very nice.
Good to see you doing a Walk and Talk Adam get thing off your mind and how's everything going now a days. Good to see what your looking at on video. Thanks for sharing.🙏😎👍👍📸
Incredible! So cool you found all those pics, Walt was so ahead of everyone he was a very smart man. Celebration is so Awesome, thanks so much for showing this Woo. Nice new kiks too! I think the Post Office is my favorite building..or the 711 Gas Station, but then again the movie theather is Rad. So basically the entire town is so cool
It's not really a town though. It's really a census designation or housing area with an HOA...it is really a pert of Kissimmee. It has no local government and uses Osceola county fire, school, sheriff, etc. So the word town in terms of Celebration is just marketing. It is really a part of Kissimmee.
My mom & I were there. My mom snuck in the group of Paparazzi and got some similar photos of Eisner at that same moment. I'll have to dig up the pictures. I didn't know why we were there.. but my mom knew!!
I looked up Celebration on Google Maps once. It seems like a nice small town and, suits you perfectly Adam. I love hearing about the history of it because I love all history especially American history. It would be nice if they had a small grocery store you could walk to in town 😉.
I want to move to Celebration. I envy you Adam. Thank you for the tour. I do find it odd and wasteful how they tore down so much of the Preview Center. It’s such a shame that movie theater has been shut down for so long!
You mentioned the holiday season twice. That has me looking forward to the Christmas-time videos coming up before we know it. It's still too hot here so I've been slipping away into holiday dreamland trying to forget it's 90 and humid today. Can't wait! We need to see Santa is that door :)
@thedailywoo we have been following along with your workouts and it gives us motivation to keep pushing with ours. We are on day 8 Back in 98 my then wife and I almost bought a home in celebration I still remember going to walk through one of the model homes I remember commenting about there being no basements and the garage not being on the front of the house lol strange the things we remember.I still love going and walking around the town. And we can wait to go and check out that library you have been going to. Thanks for sharing it 💕😁
@@nifftystufffrompaul3524 my wife and I haven't been documenting our workouts but we have been going every evening after work and watching Adam push through each day makes us both smile
Basements in Florida are rare based all the wet lands, swamps, and coastlines which doesn't make basement construction feasible. Im a Floridian and remember being so intrigued about the basement in my great grandparent's farm house in Iowa. The only time I have ever seen one before was in the movies.
@@bonniehowell9206 up here in Canada we all have basements well unless you are up north and your home is built on one of the many granite rocks they don't usually cut them out to add a basement lol.
I was waiting for this one. Nice to see how Celebration evolved to what it is today! BTW, Have you been using those pools and recreation centers that you have shown us before?
Again another great video. Such a cool town. When we visited in February they had the market going on which was very cool. But because of that we didn't get to explore like we wanted to. Maybe next time
The more I see Celebration, the more I know I will visit from CA in the spring! Would love to live there Oct - April. Maybe work for Diz or in town. Would be my dream! You are living the life Adam! Love your vlogs. Start my day with them! Guess I can talk to a realty office if I’d want to rent a studio, etc there for the winter. Snowbird! LOL!
I'm fascinated as well! Thanks for the research and sharing! Back in high school, we had to choose someone to write a research paper on. My fascination was...Walt Disney!
Adam, thanks for another informative and interesting vlog. I visited Celebration the first year it opened. So nice to revisit through your videos. Such a very utopian place to live. Good for you !
