@@sporepics "not her point" from the story side maybe. But not from the side of character design, kiddo! Honestly, that is her whole point. A poor gal in a bad situation, designed to be emphasized with. And yes, she is a victim of a mind break. But who knows, pilots are not always the episode 1. Things can change. Maybe her torture/misadventure will get longer. Maybe there is a chance to escape, and that room with the PC and the Headset is actually the key. We'll never know untill the Episode 1 drops.
@@box7403Relatable indeed, and I agree like the new main protagonist of this new series in the Glitch Production Studio that Pomni is so cute when she freaking out about getting home.
I noticed that Pomni's eyes widens when she's feeling intrigued, relieved, calm, positive feelings in general. Like that one time in the teaser where she was about to eat a sandwich
Their face would have a censor bar taped to it permanently, even when they're not speaking. All their lines are subtitled, and only play *bleep* sounds
Pomni finds out she can’t swear, decided to try every swear she can think of, finds out non work, asks how to leave. Same mindset Pomni, same mindset. If I can’t swear my anger out I’d be abstracted in minutes.
Reminds me of that fan comic where Pomni and Caine collaborated on the idea of making a "confession booth" where the performers can scream all their frustrations about their situation into the void with nobody else around being able to hear anyone inside. Pretty much the first thing Jax does is just take advantage of being able to use un-bleeped swear words for what's implied to be a few _hours._
@@IAnimateStuffIDK Nah there are people that likes the main character not bc they are the main one that is in the story sometimes they really like it bc they can relate to it
To be fair, they probably all reacted pretty similarly on their first day. Imagine being told you could never leave a game and we’re trapped for the rest of your life. On top of that, you don’t remember anything about yourself but you know that this isn’t you. You know you were someone else, but can’t remember a single thing about your past-life. You can’t even remember your own name.
First Harley and now Pomni, why do I keep getting crushes on Jester Girls who might be a little bit Insane? But Glitch did a great job on this, I can't wait for more.
This actually does inspire to think about it in a more deep psychologically rational way. You guys made me realize the disturbing amount of men falling in love with fictional insane clown females. Perhaps this might be a good research topic.
@@damired There's always been a surprising amount of people with coulrophobia. It's even more surprising that there's a growing amount of what seems like coulroPHILIA now.
Pomni’s design just looks so iconic right off the bat, looks like it could also fit the rubberhose/1930s style, I really love her red and blue color scheme! It’s been living rent free in my head since I decided to watch the pilot! Heck I really think she also fits as a platform game mascot too!
All that walking through " Exits" Strongly reminds me about Stanley Parable. There's no real exit only the paths, right path satifies the voice and makes correct story, while wrong path could lead you to anything even void, and anger the voice.
I had the exact same thought. The entire vibe of the office areas had a 1:1 replication of the Stanley parable. It looked like it was entirely made from the assets of the game itself.
@@CHURCHISAWESUMJax is a coward. Moreso than Pomni, he pretends to know what’s he doing but actually gets nothing done, and when something goes wrong he’s always the first to run away. He just hides it behind “attitude”, but Jax is still a coward. Pomni had fear many times, but she didn’t try to hide it. When the Abstracted was right in front of her, and Ragatha asked for her, Pomni was the only one who stayed and at least *tried* to help despite her fear. Pomni is brave and genuine, while Jax is a coward but instead he tries to fake how cowardly he feels. For that reason I respect and like Pomni more than Jax, and I’d say that for now (just Pilot episode) Jax is overrated.
@@badasstoad9419 They were comparing them to a TF2 player, not writing a character expose on them lmao, my whole spiel here was that a TF2 player would be on the same level as Kinger in terms of general humor and sanity, it would be hard to decipher them.
Happy to be a part of the club that loves our anxiety filled, existential crisis bearing and adorable little jester waifu. Gotta give them credit for winning us over so effectively with a lovable protagonist that you just want to hug, comfort and protect from her situation. We love you Pomni!❤️💙💛
@@myca4002TBF, I was kinda going for that and we all know a majority of her art usually has her dealing with another anxiety attack. She’s still adorable either ways❤️💙💛
6:01 Evidence Fact: Pomni does not like being touched. When Jax had the key with his hand close to her face, she flinched. The reason she has anxiety is that she’s been physically abused or assaulted in her real life before being trapped in the Digital Circus. I feel sorrowful for her and her life. No one cared until she met Ragatha, she’s the only one who cares about Pomni. She calmed, motivated, and supported Pomni at all times. She’s no longer afraid of physical touching when things happen. Thanks to Ragatha, no wonder she’s called “The Sweetest Little Optimist”. I bet they have a good relationship and dynamic love. Oh, I hope the series will tell the true story of them. Surprise all of us, Goosworx & Glitch Productions. What are your best shots to impress us?
Adding to that, I have reason to believe she may have been in a dead end job as an office drone prior to coming to the Circus. That monitor she encountered while trying to leave must’ve been her office space, or at the very least the access point she used to enter the game.
@@bluecoin3771 That could be the reason for her thought. Maybe the game gave her some motivation, bravery & good life. That is what happens when the story begins.
Truly, I cannot unhear the Bang Zoom dub take of Lycoris Recoil's Chisato Nishikigi on this poor forced lass. Lizzie Freeman really nailed that role as much as Chisato's Japanese seiyuu Chika Anzai did, and the energy given for Pomni shows that range in a different light.
Context for those who didn't know: Five years after the events of Chainsaw Man, Kobeni walked away from Demon Hunt and found a new life as a video game beta tester, until after a small accident she became trapped in a game from which she currently cannot escape. That's where Pomni was born.
Cute and yeah definitely feel for her and the anxiety she is going through. Wish I could hug her and tell her everything is going to be alright. Hold onto her mind before it starts going crazy and she will make it through. Not many protagonists I feel this deeply for but yeah The Amazing Digital Circus is certainly nothing short from an Amazing Circus in a digital like world.
I love this show it is captured in such a way that make you think about animation and life in a different perspective, this reminds of Tim Burton a lot even though it’s different which is very interesting.
Not to be that person, but all she displayed in the pilot is anxiety, and a realistic (not high) level of altruism. Which most people IRL have. I think people’s standards for what is “ideal” may be a bit low when people online simp for anything really. (Even Jax, who isn’t even as brave as Pomni.)
