The AMAZING Manchester Xmas Model Railway Exhibition 2023!

Excellent layouts but York Station was the scene stealer for me.

I totally agree Paul, interesting too how the rear of it took up 4 times the space of the detail layout! Mainly due to the clever figure 8 design built to allow trains to ‘return’ from the direction they left in!

I saw it 'in the flesh' at York earlier this year . . . . it's absolutely superb!

Wonderful displays - such skill - and superbly photographed (the use of stills very imaginative) - and good to see fiddle yards as well as work-in-progress. Thank you for sharing.

Certainly a great selection again this year! Thanks Alex yes, I’ve tried to capture the design and build of the layouts too as well as show some detail to try to help others building their own layouts with some inspiration and ideas!

Sadly could not make as it's chaos for me getting ready for the move and company setup in Halifax. Aiming to have a stand at the show next year with possibly some as yet not seen in the UK, Austrian Narrow Gauge buildings, accessories, figures and rolling stock...

very nice video, alwijs interesting to see what's going on at the train shows. Very surprising was the chinees layout, never seen such a big collection of chinees models. I don't know much about the chinees scene, I didn't even know there was even a Chinese scene,. Questions like who is the main producer there, what are chinees collectors doing there, I find very interesting? Of course, the British layouts, always steel my hart, Copper Worth & co to me is the best as this is the era I also work in. Thanks for the interesting video👍

Yes the Chinese based layout was fabulous, I’ve never seen the like before either but the amount of busy running it allowed and the sheer scale of those engines was great to see. It was set in 2001, the chap who built it had been visiting China for the steam since 1993 and this was his way of keeping it alive. Great layout!

The Gresley “Silver Jubilee” and “Coronation” streamlined trains still look modern. My dad used to say “the A4 looks like it’s doing 50 when it’s stood still”.

They certainly do! The York layout was fantastic and really gives a sense of what it would have been like back in the golden age of the 1930s!
