@@trpoihgg Don't be a dick. The Gwen Stacy story line dates back to the 1970s, so not a lot of people know the true origins of characters and their histories/relationships. Movies are bad for fucking up these canons cos of "creative vision" and other pretentious bullshit used as an excuse to re-write established fiction. I get that some things need to be modified cos you can't fit decades of detail into a 2-hr movie, but still. Movies are great, but sadly they're prone to screwing up the canon and then newcomers to the franchise think what they see on the screen is the same as the comics. it's not their fault they "don't know". It's pop culture snobs like you that give other fans a bad name. Stop being a dick. Furthermore, just cos the Gwen Stacy death "moved people to tears" doesn't mean they did not know the outcome. I knew the outcome (cos I was a kid in the 70s and was loosely familiar with the Gwen Stacy story being a Spider-Man fan), but it was still a heavy moment, cos seeing things played out in action is a lot different than reading it in comic book pages. So it's not always about not knowing, it's about having human emotions. Maybe you need some? For the third time : Stop being a dick.

@@trpoihgg in comics its little bit different gwen stacy, when she First met peter, its was a kind of narcicist and also kind of toxic, I remember one time she kiss a police in front of peter when they were dating and you know what she said? I did this to put jealous on you peter parker. But what males diferrent the gwen from TASM and comics 616 (the maij line) tmis that gwen from TASM doesn't cheat on peter with norman osborn and give him kids, the reason incomcis she goes to europe is to have the childrens there because she doesntwant peter to know it (when peter knows about this he was married with mary jane, and when she came back its when the goblin kill her so that way she doesn't tell peter the truth, and believe me when i told you that ig gwen told peter the truth the things will not be different he will left her and doesn't want to see her anymore. Me persobally I always like mary jane (from comics not from móvies, the móvies versión its bad written and its not matching with the character, the same with gwen in TASM. Because I remember a time when a friend told me that Start reading comics because TASM and he was disappointed with gwen personalitie in comics and the comic sins of past)

@@XwoooahX If it is in the comics, only that it dies very early, obviously the relationship with MJ or Felicia is even more attractive to the viewer in the future, but it is because of the exposure, for Spidey the best was always Gwen.

It is absolute canon that MJ is his one true love, and it's been that way for decades and he's had 100x the stories with MJ than Gwen. Plus she is written way better than Gwen ever was. I mean, Gwen was only around between 1965 - 1973 so, it's not fair. But I mean, Peter was married to MJ for 20 years, so you can't really compete with that being a dead girlfriend from the early 70s comics.

@@dude-0049 Peter had the opportunity to be with Gwen after her death when her clone came back and wanted to be with him. He turned her down flat saying he moved on from Gwen and his heart is with MJ. He says flat out "Gwen was my past, MJ is my future." Peter sees Gwen as a lost love, but not has his true love.

Oh I did not know that her death was from the comics if I would have known that years ago I probably would have hated this movie a little bit but it wasn't just her death it was the lack of the villains also

They've written other stuff too, and I don't think this movie is poorly written, just a bit plot heavy with a couple of underdeveloped elements, but the actual story between Peter and Gwen is very good. I think Transformers had a lot of decisions made by Michael Bay that were not the writers' ideas. I mean, you can even tell if you pay attention that Megan Fox's character has layers that the camera is dead set on distracting you from by leering at her like a perv.

I wish they hadn't made Rhino robotic. I preferred his original, non-mechanical version.

That's even worse than what I knew, holy crap. What I'd heard from...I guess the writers that did it, was that the only next logical step for Peter and Gwen was to get married, because they couldn't imagine any scenario wherein which they would break up. But the writers didn't want Peter to be a married man. ..........So they killed her. Like, to be fair, Gwen facing mortality is kind of important - it is a risk of having relationships in the position that Peter is in. I really appreciate how this movie did it. They gave Gwen agency. She knew the risks and made the choice herself - I think that insistence from her was so, so important and kind of redeemed this whole thing, or made it the best case scenario that it could be. Still wish it hadn't happened though u.u

Uncle Ben is literally the most important thing about Spider-Mans story. Without him we don't have Spider-Man. I get we've seen him die before. But give us flashbacks, or Peter having a conversation with May about how much he misses him. Instead the MCU just completely threw him away and put Tony in his place, which is just so unbelievably wrong. Not even talking about Uncle Ben and then replacing him with someone else is like if Batman never had any issues with his parents being killed. Theres some things you cannot change. Ben is his father figure, not Tony.

I am in love with the TASM series but they didn't use Electro as a Marvel plot point. He felt like a villain to me. Villains come in different forms. Max Dillon is sensitive like that in the comics and games. His intentions are based off his emotions. Plus this was Sony not Marvel at the time.

In fact, there was some time she didn’t like Spider-Man because she blamed him for her father’s death. But she cared deeply about Peter and stood up for him when his character was attacked. MJ was introduced as a hippie party girl and was elevated to Peter’s prime love interest because the writer who killed Gwen off thought she was more interesting. I disagree and so did Stan Lee, who based a lot of Gwen on his wife and intended to have Peter and Gwen remain together.
