Am I the only person that LOVED this film? It had such a beautiful love story that made it different to other superhero films...Im gutted Andrew Garfield is being replaced.
I feel the exact same way, I really LOVED this film and it was totally different from other superhero movies, which is part of what made it perfect - especially for a spidey fan. I can't even talk about the AG replacement decision, too frustrating!
He might be my favorite Spider-Man, as someone who loves and grew up with Tobey, especially in films like Hacksaw Ridge and Tick, Tick, Boom show how much of a superb actor he is. I hate how he has yet to win an Oscar.
@@jjack3186 As Stan Lee said, Peter Parker was never not cool, he was just nerdy and very scientific. Stan Lee also said that Peter was never not handsome and that he was in a majority of the comics.
@@xo4205 Good. The average "normal" person is a dumb sheep with the mental capacity of a small rodent and the emotional maturity of a teenager. I prefer to NOT be like that. Enjoy being a sheep. xo
Love how he kept saying she was violating his ground rules for literally anything she was doing because she was so naturally adorable that he couldn't help but fall for her.
Tbh Andrew’s portrayal of Spiderman is still the best for me. His humor, his relationship with Gwen, his complicated past with his parents. He’s been through so much but still manage to put everyone else needs above his own. I don’t even care about the reviews. These 2 movies are the best ones for me.
Best Spiderman for sure, best Gwen Stacy ( best love interest). Not best movie. They made too many mistakes should have started Spiderman in College in this universe. They were too old to play teens. The movie was made good by the chemistry of the two leads.
@@omid_tau Andrew is the best spiderman ,Tobey the best Peter Parker, Emma best Gwen, Kristen best MJ and Holland well he's young will see in the future
I hate people who said this was their favorite Spider-Man film but then call it trash once they saw the reviews. Personally this is my favorite Spider-Man film.
@@cynthiaking9480 you know even if the bus rider kept moving Peter would have slightly lifted the bus with his fingers and stopped it while not giving a shit bout it and being lost in Gwen
The car actually hit the heel of his foot or something similarly painful during that moment. I remember this from the DVD commentary once upon a time. The fact that Andrew just carried on with the scene has always blown my mind 💥
Was the mirror a effect then. I’ve always thought it was and It didn’t actually happen. In my mind it’s suppose to be because he’s Spider-Man and so strong it’s hits him and sparks because of him being superhuman. And How did it run over his heel if the hell is in a shoe and is on the back of the foot. Did the tire brush against his heel then?
@@joefayant6143 Play it in 0.25 speed and pause right when he’s hit. The mirror hits him on the lower arm, I’d say it’s an effect. No way they let a car go past him that close even with a prop mirror or something. Edit: So apparently they DID have an actual car go past him and the tire smacked his heel, still not convinced the mirror was real though.
what i love about marc webb's version is he made spiderman like an indie movie. the music, the dialogue... it didn't feel artificial, or about the spectacle.
It’s scenes like this that I wished the whole film was like that instead of the Sony set up cinematic universe, and the parents sup plot, and the lame villains. This is where the more authentic Mark Webb style comes to play and the film should have been 100% his film
You described it perfectly. Scenes like these seem like something you would never find in a CBM. I really love Webb’s style and the kind of direction he took Spider-Man
This scene is pure magic. The looks on their faces, the lighting, their smiles, the way they manage to convey heartbreak, joy and being in love with just a few looks…
The looks from Emma stone kill my insides she’s so gorgeous and cute and Andrew is so amazing too, loved the film because of them too even tho the film was rushed with the villains I really enjoyed just watching them 2 being together or being upset
"it's the closest I can get to still being with you". I teared up. It looked like her eyes were suddenly watery too. This was one of the best love scenes I've seen.
Some parts of the scenes were improvised and Mark Webb liked them so much he left them in, because their chemistry was too powerful and natural. Helps that they were dating too and they loved each other so much.
I'm not a type of romance loving guy,but this is one the best romantic scene I've seen.Especially that part when he is crossing the road and is watching gwen. Edit - I randomly came here after 5 years, scrolled the comments, and saw my comment with 1.5k likes. Wow.
I feel the exact same. Or when they find tiny things the other person does that they find irresistible. It just solidifies their feelings for each other. These movies weren't great but their chemistry was top notch.
Some people said scene was creepy but not for me, i sorta relate to it, when you love someone so much u just can't handle not seeing them everyday. "it's the closest i can get to still being with you"
It's the way he looks at her, that's so cute and intense at the same time, I remember watching this movie with my parents in theatre, and their scenes left me blushing the whole time, their chemistry was so natural ❤️
Phill don't agree! there are plenty of beautiful scenes between Peter and MJ in Sam Raimi's trilogy. Although these two have a very adorable relationship, saying that's this is better is an overstatement.
Emmanuel Ezekiel No it really is. All I saw in the Raimi one was just a damsel in distress. She didn’t contribute to Spider-Man at all. In TASM movies, it’s true passion.
When gwen died in the comic and movie peter lost part of his own innocence and happiness he once had. Eventhogh his life was a mess before he met gwen or mj. Gwen gave him hope and happiness as well as motivation to make the city for her and everyone. In the comics it was a bit different gwen never knew he was spider-man. In fact she died never knowing. At least in the movies she knew before she died. One thing that seperate peter from most heroes with tragic or a dark past is that he doesnt let it consume him. There have been times peter was either on the breaking point of insanity and dark intentions. Many people including fans that spider-man is always a happy go lucky superhero like superman or the flash. In reality he is this tortured young poor soul who is the butt of life's cruel jokes. He can't never get his life together and he always ends up losing people that he cares about making peter parker imo the most tragic superhero ever. Yet despite his tragic problems he doesnt always let it overwhelm him or cause him to go down a dark path. He still maintains his lovable and goofy sense of humor even in the mist of very serious moments. He still maintains his noble heroic morality and tries his best to save many lives as he can. Despite his flaws, insecurities, and mistakes peter parker is not only favorite superhero but my inspiration in life. Ive made so many mistake where i feel i cant do anything right but peter shows me it is ok the only thing u can do is learn from it and move on.
+BBmetalhead04 I felt like the relationship was more like 'I love you, but I hate you, but I love you, but I hate you' and then take in the fact that gwen said, "I break up with you, peter!"
The looks on their face, Emma's smile on looking at Andrew, the background music and how utterly Andrew is fazed and falls all over in love with Emma on looking at her right then, Emma saying "Don't tell me I look amazing, with that big brown doe eyes" right after saying she wanted to be friends. Gosh . This scene alone is a testament to how Garfield and Emma make the best love story in the Marvel series.
I don't care what people say about this movie, this movie was awesome!!! It's the only superhero movie that has showed the true love and bonding between the hero and his heroine ❤️
Arianna Pappas it's a perfect movie between fighting and losing the ones who you love I still hate Gwen for wearing those stupid clothes when she died.
This movie is sooo underrated!! I'm not usually into romance movies, but the romance in ASM is perfection. The way the shots were filmed is really good too.
damn, the way she looks at him at 3:17 says it all. You don't even need to ask her how she feels about you. I'm not dating any girl until she looks at me like that
How young are you? If you 2 aren't dating, why would she look at you with that much emotion as if you 2 have deep history? Pretty sure you gotta be dating or be a couple to get these meaningful looks.
@Lee 80s Homecoming was bad, I wont deny that. But far from home was Amazing. And Holland did his roles justice in Infinity War and Endgame too. I have a strong feeling that Holland's Spider-Man will be just brilliant in the next movie. My instincts tell me that. Just remember my comment....
No one can match the role of Spiderman other than Andrew Garfield..Tom Holland looks so kiddish nd immature..this Peter nd Gwen chemistry feels so good than Peter and mj
Honestly gwen had her great moments in the comics, when she would slap a guy for actually talking bad about peter for calling him a coward. Gwen would always defend peter and worry about him constantly. She also said to peter ive never forget and realize she was perfect for him. In one issue peter was depressed for not having money to take gwen on a reasonable date and be there for her. Gwen carressed his check and kissed him saying that she never cared about the fact he had money or was strong she liked peter for who he was. A smart, funny, and caring young man who would put his family first before himself. She even saying that being with him was the best thing that ever happened to her. That moment showed me right there that gwen truly loved peter and i did not buy that awful story called sins past bull crap for a minute. Stan had established the fact gwen was supposed to be the one for peter but fans and other writers back then didnt give ten craps. That was one pf the reasons she was killed off and felt it was unjustified. I liked the fact they did her character justice before they killed her. Making it more impacting than it was in the comics.
The Heartbeat music plays in background and Peter walks towards Gwen completely bewildered and star struck. Gosh! I love the moment and expression on Peter's face....Reminds me of how I look at my girl when I am aware that she is not looking at me.....
No doubt Andrew was the best Spidey. But also Neither of the two MJ'S can match the Essence of Gwen Stacy. The Bond between them is so pure and real. Hats off to the Cast ( Andrew and Emma ). It's definitely not everyone's cup of tea to convey several feelings in a single scene ( this video). I personally loved both TASM movies the most. Don't wanna compare other spidermans directly, but Andrew is Definitely The BEST ❤️.
I love coming back to this scene! So adorable and natural to me when they are just laughing. Makes the ending so tragic because there was actually something precious to lose.
I love how this scene is acted, directed, edited... Marc Webb is the guy who directed 500 Days and it shows here. Peter + Gwen was the strongest part of this movie
Yeah, sure, "friends"... she's undressing him with her eyes right now. "We gotta establish some ground rules." So, no sex until AFTER their not-a-date? Oh, Peter, you're a horrible liar.
It really is a shame how much other elements of this film were botched. Spider man's love life is a huge part of his story and no film has conveyed real chemistry between the actors like this one. It's so real and powerful.
This. This is why I freaking love the amazing Spider-Man movies. I know Spider-Man is about so much more than romance but goddamn, these two had some amazing chemistry and Garfield is underrated. Such a shame we didn’t get a trilogy
O my god i'm so freaking addicted to Andrew Garfield and Emma stone after realizing there a real couple irl I just became more addicted wanted to see them together addicted searched so many videos with them together I hate but enjoy getting addicted to other peoples personal life's even in the movies.. Watched this movie like 20 times.. and the first one even more.. death scene made me cry every time movie would have been so much better without the death but... it did leave a good message even as a super hero u cant save everyone.. even the ones you love more than anything.
Their acting is actually so underrated. Idk if it's because they're dating at the time or what, but omg my heartttt It was especially the scene at @3:26 tho. It was like he knows he shouldn't be following her, but he's kind of begging her to let him. Just the way he said it and his facial expression, ughhh. It's so heartbreaking that's how their relationship has to be, and yet, he still lost her in the end :((
Best love story! The chemistry of Gwen n Peter was so loving, so touching.. I love all the moments between these two.. I smiled, laughed and cried along.
This is exactly how it feels. When you see your person after a long time, whether than person be someone platonic or romantic. You just want to drink in the sight of them.
The story of Peter and Gwen being the perfect couple but could never be together because her death was inevitable is so great. Even with all those powers he couldnt save her. That was such a wise lesson...
I loved a lot of Andrews other works, the imaginarium of doctor parnassus, the social network, and if course his new addition tick tick boom amongst others, but quite honestly never got around to seeing them . Glad I'm doing so now
This video is like my comfort place... Like I come back to this video every now and then, just to see this love knowing that they'll have to be apart. I mean we can all feel Andrew, he's living each and every moment in the scene, for him isn't about whom she's with or literally any thing other thing, for him it's about that fraction of second he is getting to spend with her and how happy and joyous it makes him...
