The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Deleted Scene: "With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility"

ALL RIGHTS BELONGS TO SONY
It could be the best scene in the entire movie, but.. SONY, please.
That's pretty dumb that Richard Parker is alive cause he had no chance to survive at all, but anyway, great acting by Andrew Garfield makes this scene so strong.
Remember: With great power comes great responsibility.

we won't. every deleted TASM2 scene would have quickly lead into a trilogy. 3 hours in a cinema isn't a lot. The Batman is almost 3 hours, No Way Home was 2 hours and 30 mins...it's like a student omitting words from his research that could have made the dissertation an 11/10.

@MisterMicrowaves

I originally understood why they removed it. It was because in the beginning of the movie, Richard died in the plane crash. Then I thought about it. Why couldn’t they have just removed the plane crash sequence? It wasn’t even good. That way, they could’ve put this scene in the movie and it would still make sense.

If you think about all three of the spidermen and their stories, Andrew was literally treated like the middle child. He lost uncle Ben, his parents, his girl, his best friend, couldn’t even get this scene to be fully added to the movie, and had it not been for NWH he probably would’ve never been seen as Spider-Man again. Ffs, he doesn’t even have a third movie like the other’s do😭

WTF!? Why on EARTH would they cut this scene out of the film!? What was Sony THINKING!? This was brilliantly done and I love how Peter's father is the one who says the famous line this time instead of his uncle. The way he delivers the line is also very nicely done! In addition, it is also a very powerful moment in the film to see Peter actually reunited with his father. They should have kept this scene in the final cut of the movie.

When you think about how STUFFED Amazing Spiderman 2 was, multiple villains who each have their own things going on, set for future movies, Gwen and Peter's relationship, Peter dealing with grief and his future and his guilt, etc. I think that something as big as THIS deserved it's own subplot in another movie where it had more space and time to get proper focus. My guess is that's what the film makers thought too and wanted to save it for a future movie. It's just unfortunate that the 3rd movie never came.

I feel like they should have only kept this scene in the movie if it turned out that his father being alive was just Peter's imagination coming to terms with Gwen's death. Imagine how effective it would have been if after the "Great power..." line, his dad just faded away, leaving Peter alone on the bench. It would have been a great insight into his mind and how he coped with her death, rather than him just watching that cheesy speech and suddenly wanting to be Spider-Man again.

Would you consider yourself to be a good person? How many lies have you told, and what do you call someone who lies? Have you ever stolen something, and what do you call someone who steals? Have you ever taken God’s name in vain (very serious; in Old Testament times, the Jews wouldn’t even say the name of God for fear of blasphemy) - even ‘OMG’? One more: Jesus said whoever looks at a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery in his heart; have you ever looked with lust? Well I’m not judging you - but if you’ve done these things then you’re a liar, thief, blasphemer and adulterer-at-heart; that’s how seriously God takes sin. He is Holy (perfectly good/righteous and separate from sin) which means that He is perfect in justice; that means that just like a just judge does sentence criminals to pay for the wrong they caused, do does God sentence the payment of all sins - and if He were to judge you by the moral law (we’ve already looked at 4 commandments) would you be innocent or guilty? Heaven or Hell? The answer is hell - the wrath of God upon you for your sin And the just God will punish ALL sin. Is that concerning? But fortunately, God’s will is not that you perish. He wants all men everywhere to be saved. So do you know what He did for us guilty sinners? In self-giving mercy, He sent His Son Jesus Christ. He lived the perfect life that we should have lived - tempted at all points and yet He NEVER sinned. Through His life, being in very nature God, He revealed God to men; but we in our hatred condemned Him to death. On that cross as Jesus suffered, He took on the sin of the world and was judged in our place; receiving God’s wrath. You and I broke God’s law, but Jesus paid the fine. God can justly forgive us. On that cross He died, then He was buried, but 3 days later He was raised from the dead - conquering death and Hell and ushering in The Kingdom of God. He then ascended to the right hand of God the Father (where He came from) now Lord of the living and the dead. God has fixed a date when He will judge the world in righteousness. What you need to do is repent (In humility, acknowledge your sin before God and turn to a relationship with Him) and trust ALONE in Jesus Christ and His work on the cross; and God will grant you the gift of the Holy Spirit. Then be baptised. Jesus' perfect righteousness will be accredited to you and you can stand in a relationship with the God of the Universe, a Father. If you repent and believe the gospel. ROMANS 10:9 - If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved

This scene is emblematic of Asm2's writing as a whole. A totally bizzarre and out of nowhere scene that was never alluded to anywhere and adds nothing to the plot, but is so well acted that it tricks you into thinking its good for a second.

The biggest flaw of this scene is that it’s dependent of the sequel, the sequel which we never got sadly

His dad actually displayed great responsibility. Disappearing to keep his son safe just like how Peter NEEDED to disappear from Gwen’s life to keep her safe.

Apparently the music is from LOTR, so of course it's amazing. Howard Shore is a good composer.

Imagine having this scene when he says "with great power comes great responsibility" right before Gwen's speech at the end of the movie. Andrew had such great potential if it wasn't for sony. I truly hope marvel does justice to his character at least one time and have him in No Way Home. He absolutely nailed this scene and also gwen's death. Update: Watched No Way Home and was in tears to see Andrew’s character getting the love he deserves. The Amazing Spider-man 3 is trending on twitter today :’)
