paper straws are victim blaming, what we need is commercial fishing and dumping reforms, oversight WITH TEETH, and to stop pretending that the crooks holding offices are legitimate just because of decorum blindness.
@@blatdotat people who aren't in control of exactly how massively fucked the oceans are. Starbucks customers. Take your pick. If they're not getting the payouts to pull the teeth out of oversight organizations, etc, then they're the victim of those that are.
@@blatdotat I don't think victim blaming is the right word, but I see TerriblePeril's point. I live in an EU country with functioning trash disposal. In my country it's not socially acceptable to throw trash on the beach. In short, I live in a country that could handle plastic straws. So it feels like being unjustly "punished" for something that someone else is doing, by being forced to use an inferior product. Likewise, we're paying an excessive tax on plastic bags, likely for little reason in our case. Instead of victim blaming, perhaps the term should be self flagellation.
@@Gameboygenius I can get behind a change in language, I just use "victim blaming" because it piques the interest and perks the ears and it's largely accurate. The vast majority of the Earth's population is victimized by the practices and policies that govern and guide commercial fishing and dumping, for the extreme benefit of a very select few, and the moderate benefit of far too many (many of whom I would also classify as victims of this system as they would rather do some other thing than partake in damaging commercial fishing but the rest of the jobs are gone and they have kids to feed).
@@audiotactix since making that comment I read an article about the samples used on PB and it mentioned the cuíca. I had always been told it was a straw, so I guess I was wrong 🤷♂️ tbh I liked the idea of it being a straw lol

@@zackcolbourne6921 I have to say ... the Digitakt probably comes closest to a good interface. But I haven't owned too many samplers tbh (would like to try the new SP-404 one day). It's hard to say. I hate Ableton's Simpler, Sampler as well. A good interface should be very very fast and intuitive + exploring 10 Happy Accidents per minute at least to see what fits. So immediacy + happy accident machine and perfect time stretching capabilities (Paul Stretch quality) If I knew exactly how it'd look like, I'd already have made one!
@@microfx the interface might be super weird but I really like using Iris 2 for creating instruments from samples. It's hardly straightforward though, if you hate samplr you'd probably hate it 😅. But it gives much more control than samplr. More traditionally I find Reason's NN-XT really intuitive for basic multisampling but I also grew up with it. I'm actually pretty tempted by this thing, never thought about a hardware sampler that's also a tracker.
Ben is most definitely a Genius-Artist/Muscian (Hell, w/ his vast range of interests/skills/& knowledge...he might even qualify as true 21st Century-Polymath!!). But while V.T. is surely a super cool dood, & definitely punches far above average when it comes to music,creativity, & intelligence...I'd still have to say that we can't just be throwing around the G. word all "willy-nilly"...or it ceases to hold meaning, & he's not quite yet on the level of people like Ben/Hainbach/Look Mum No Computer/+ a few others that are slipping my mind presently/& surely several others here on YT that I've sadly as yet failed to come across (no doubt like everything else...many of the greatest creative geniuses on here likely are posting videos that only a very lucky few dozens of people may ever even get to witness!!)
I am currently on watch for something like this. My pocket operators are fine and dandy but I look for something with a bit more flexibility. Would you say it’s worth to wait for whatever you show here? Or should I go for already existing hardware? We can ignore budget for the answer.

I just was inspired while washing a glass bowl to sample my wet thumb dragged across the wet soapy glass surface...squeeky acid line that sounds like robots having very kinky relations. I swear it is so crazy. I will post a link in a bit so yall can have a laugh or use it in something.😂
