Amazing video!!!!! Brian, this has been the most helpful video for our family that you have made! You mentioned the ability to see recipes and then add them to a cart. I did some quick research and the Tasty app pairs with walmart groceries. If you have Walmart grocery delivery, that means recipe prep is sooooo easy! This will save our family so much time. This was such a small detail, but so great!!! Keep up the amazing content :)

The Best out there on this and the show 10. I still have a bit of question on transferring files out from video and camera. But basically, use Amazon Photos with the same account as is on your Echo Show and you'll get things moving between the Show and phone/PC. I like these that much I have got three One in each of my rooms They are the ideal size if you have a stick up camera or a Amazon doorbell Also you can link your phone to it And if your mobile goes off you can answer it on them Without having to remember where you left your mobile And one of the other reasons that it does lot of other cool things as well
I like the echo show 10 also but unfortunately I didn't buy it because it wont work with my Amazon cameras but the echo show 8 and echo show 5 will work with my camera's, I wish they had a fix for that.
Thanks Brian. Great insight . One quick question, I’m thinking of connecting this product to ring stick cam . Hope this connects and more importantly, once connected, can I keep the eco show live on all night , to keep an eye on my baby. Or will it shut down after sometime ? Can this products be a good replacement for a baby monitor. Thanks mate
You can connect it. As for will it turn off? Well...yeah it will. I don't know the exact time it will turn off, and I don't think I'd say that it can be a full replacement for a baby monitor. I just don't know that I'd trust it to be 100% reliable. I'd probably do something like have a backup basic monitor and then use the camera to check in.
There's no wrong answer. It's just Google vs Amazon there. I like Nest for accuracy and daily life + sleep monitoring I like Alexa for automation, and the speaker is better.
@@AutomateYourLife please walk me through that process on Show 10 i can't find it anywhere in the Alexa routine to use it as a trigger once it detects a person. i knew it detects someone who walks within it's range because it starts showing the home screen from idle.
Yet another great review, Brian. I have a couple of 5's, a new 10, and a 1st edition 8 here. I didn't want to spend more during Prime day, but will likely be watching for the next round of discounts for the new Echo 8. Even though the Echo 8 has Sidewalk capability, it doesn't have LoRa like the Echo Show 10 and a couple of the Ring devices have...at least that's what I've read. Because of YoLink, I don't need additional LoRa capability, but I'm curious about what Amazon intends to do with it. Thanks again!!!
Should I get echo show 8 1st gen or show 8 2nd gen if I barely use camera? Mainly for music, RU-vid and stuff like asking alexa what's the capital of etc
Brian,as always another great vid',can you help me with the viewing of up to 4 cameras on Echo show 8?I have asked this on .FB group pages and people say it works for them,but no such luck for me...btw i have 4 Wyze cams and i am from Canada if that makes a difference...cheers!
Thank so much. You video is great you've explains so much about Echo 8. My son gave me Echo 8 for Christmas (still in the box) Im sorry for such a long question its a bit complicated for me to understand Echo. Akexa etc but I have 2 doors each hardwired with old style doorbells that were installed when the home was built 50 years ago and both doorbells ring from one doorbell Chime box that sits high up on a wall. It only rings (no camera/no video to outside) I live on a corner lot therefore have 2 outter doors and ppl come ringing both doorbells or pound loudly either doors. It be nice to view from my new Echo Show 8 and if I remove old doorbells replaced with Ring hardwire doorbells. Idk if they work or not? My local electronics store has on sale "Ring" doorbells hardwire $59. Since I need qty 2 and I know how to remove and replace my old doorbells hardwired with 2 small wires but if I purchase 2 new "Ring" doorbells/camera/video will they even work and operate on a home that was hardwired 50 yrs ago to the homes electrical wired old doorbells on two doors but only uses one chime box for each doorbell. "Ring" $59 each or "Ring and "Chime" @ $79 ea. I think the "Chime" plugs into an 'AC outlet inside my house? So may not need the $79 ones ? My thought is to purchase 2 "Ring doorbell/camera 'hardwire' type, one for each door. But what I dont understand is since both doors current doorbells are hardwired to the old doorbell chime box up on the wall will it interupt disrupt or not ring at all anymore if I install Ring hardwire doorbells and use Echo Show 8 and cell phone notifications. Perhaps 'Ring doorbells may not work at all ? Should I buy Ring at all ? Best Buy Qyestions and Answers state "Ring doorbell hardwire" works with Echo Show 8
In some cases, Ring Doorbells can be both wired and use batteries. That would mean that no matter what, it could work in your home. Also, I can't tell you for SURE that it'll work but it should be designed to work this way. For you Marilyn, it might make sense to see if you can find a friend to have a look with you...but it should be fine. :)
6:05 what is that output jack on the right next to the power jack(left) called? my PC couldn't connect via bluetooth to the ES8(2nd gen) and use it as an external speaker but my PC can connect to airpods, smart TV, so i'm trying to see if i can connect a wire(cable) from the ES8 my my PC.
When you go into the settings for the home screen, those are your options. I feel like there are a couple options to change where the clock sits...but that's it.

My sister and I both have Echo Show 8. We got them to be able to video call. We find that the picture constantly freezes and the sound is delayed. Is this the fault of the device or internet connection or something else? Help!
Probably just the internet connection on one side of it. That sounds like those kinds of issues. Maybe each of you try calling someone else, or turning off the video and seeing if things stay reliable?
I tried connecting to my Show 8 2nd Gen for a video call via the Alexa app on my Samsung Note 8 using LTE. On the Show 8 it shows someone is connected but on the cell it does not connect. Does anyone know if the home router needs port forwarding opened.?
If I have this wrong let me do Amazon plan to bring out a wire free Echo show one that has a battery like a mobile phone or tablet with out the hassle of using mains power I know we've got phones and tablets but it could be a better solution to use them free from mains power or a windup system like some radios have of course there's limitations with that but it could be a future solution to do a battery version if there isn't something already available or course it is possible I guess to turn a old mobile into a Echo that uses the app and a tablet but with updates some of these are more likely to freeze up or unable to take the process of further updates or upgrades beyond their own system firmware? Just one question more in the future with windows 12 and Amazon android having a closer link I wonder will Echo Show do windows to?
I think they could have saved us some more $$$ by removing the micro USB as well as the 3.5mm jack. Apparently to use the USB for its intended purpose you need an adapter (Micro USB to RJ45 Wired Connection). Does anyone here use the micro USB port?
I'm surprised that none of the reviews are talking about how horribly slow this device is. I can't believe that Echo product line's QA allowed to release this product to the market. It is so slow that it gets you frustrated in no time. To get a taste of what I'm taking about, try Drop in feature or make calls.
The whole echo ecosystem has been mostly screwed all this year. Voice response has really dropped and when it responds it wants to either blabber about bluetooth or make a phone call I never asked for. As of this week with the latest app screw up (or update if you prefer) sleep timers no longer work at all. Ready to throw it all out.
You just seem to be having a lot of trouble David. Not sure what's going on for you! Maybe try switching the language to English US for me on a specific Echo device and see if that starts to help. If you've done your voice profile, redo it too k?
So, what I've learned is... you are made of poop and smell badly, prob like the poop you're made of? HAHAHAH I hope your kid actually said that bc it's cute!! I was fully expecting the "my dad likes to eat" to end with "poop" but ah we can't have them all :P I need to win the giveaway so I can try this out! On a side note, isn't it a bit ironic how we all want a 60 or 70-inch tv but then we use a 5 or 6-inch device or tablet-sized screen to actually watch and do most things? I use my phone about 90 percent of the day for youtube and all of that stuff... sometimes I pull out my laptop like right now, and I likely won't turn my tv on until I am getting ready for bed and want to relax!

I had an interest in them, but when I heard they show things on the screen you don't want to see stopped my purchase. They better stop doing things like this... They will lose me as a Customer.
Hey K - So I can get it to almost zero changes on screen from exactly what I want. It's close now....they've given us a lot of options for adjusting that.
