I bought gold when the government after printing money like crazy during the pandemic and sold basically right before the spike in price, I missed out on 800$ :( HOLD YOUR GOLD is the moral of the story, 5 years is a good number to hold it for if you can.
Years ago, I had a system where I paid cash and the feeling of being connected to the money and the transaction that you're paying for helped me be much wiser about spending and more appreciative of the value of the money. This video is a great reminder.❤
Yeah as long as you keep your receipts, have a written agreement a handshake and cash is great, feels more real and there is more accountability. There isn't a lot of that with credit.
I only make one payment per month that is not cash. The automatic payment from my account for the automobile insurance. Everything and I mean everything else is paid by cash only. No credit card, no debit card and no check. Cash only.
Someone still has to pay the IRS their fair share. A donation to a legal charity avoids that. Help them set up a legal charity to protect them. But the core message is super valid. Community first
Cash isn't bad, I've been getting it every time I mow my parent's yard (which I've only started doing recently). I don't mind my cash back credit card either. I think that paying any big box keeps people afloat (within the system, not directly but indirectly). A job at such a place isn't ideal but a lot of people aren't ready for entrepreneurship or haven't taken steps like myself (I haven't taken tangible steps). I hope to hear about progress in the future with you and your activities.

You are absolutely correct. It's completely logical. But the system has already made progress in changing payment methods. We may still be able to make cash payments for another 5 years, 7 hopefully. I totally agree with all you've said. That good feeling you discussed when giving a cash payment is greatly magnified when, instead, a barter exchange occurs. With barter transactions, both parties feel like they came out ahead ... got the better deal. When we hand over cash, there is a sense of loss and often, the feeling that we paid too much. Although a bit difficult to arrange sometimes, barter is the most rewarding and magical way to exchange goods and services.
I agree with you that shopping locally is great, the problem is most of the local venders are expensive. I have always preferred the trading system, this way nothing is truly wasted but rather given new life. In the interest of something like neighbors it's not like it was back in the day, now these days you have no idea who has a hit on your head, this is the United States after all. I would like to team up with a neighbor or 2 and make a plan for us to live better lives by growing and starting farms, problem still remains you have no idea who will stiff you in the end. This isn't coming from nowhere, when I was younger, we had a chicken farm with one of my father's friends, not realizing we were doing all of the work while he was working on stealing money from us.
I've started using cash a lot more now that more stores are charging a 3% "convenience fee" for using a credit card. It really does help you feel the magnitude of what you are spending. I'll think nothing of a $200 credit card charge, but handing over a wad of 20s is different. Just think of how only a few corporations get a 2-3% cut of the majority of retail transactions of the entire US economy.

Cash only = tax avoidance HVAC, paving, tree trimming, landscapers, excavation LLCs love cash payments to avoid reporting income to avoid taxation. Meanwhile, if your income is from W2, you cannot avoid taxation on income. So, form an LLC and collect cash payments and get big to quit your W2 job.

Watch out for road pirate police . Civil asset forfeiture is rampant . They will take your money , no charges , and then you have to go to court and prove your MONEY IS INNOCENT 😂 My friend went to buy a car in cash got pulled over for expired sticker and the cops took his 17 grand …. Cost 10 grand for a lawyer to get it back 3 years later.

If you paid cash to someone who ended up damaging your property, what recourse do you think you have? If you call the police, they will say it's a civil matter, seek help from the court. When you go to court, the respondent can lie without any accountability. If you win a civil case, you will have to find where this person holds their money...but you paid in cash so, you have no idea where they bank. I love your channel and what you're doing, but eventually you will be ripped off and you'll see the benefits of a paper trail. NY legal system will not protect you and will likely chastise you for trying to avoid taxes.
She right, cash is pure and beautiful. But there is a digital way and have a peer to peer transaction. Its called Bitcoin. No middle man unstoppable transactions anywhere at the speed of light. Cash is AMAZING but only for transactions. Inflation will kill any attempt at saving in cash. Luckily Bitcoin fixes that too (only Bitcoin nothing else). I agree with everything you just said, but with a few exceptions, due to the current economic climate of inflation, slowly but surely the USD, fiat currency, sophisticated toilet paper AKA currency became its not money is losing its value, main reason is due to government spending which causes tremendous amounts of inflation, so this fiat currency is on its way out or some may say it's already out, so the best way to hedge against inflation is BITCOIN, Self custody GOLD , SILVER, and Commodities in general, please do your own research to form your own conclusion.
It's nice to do this where you can, but unless you want to live in some kind of early 19th-century way, like the Amish, for instance, it's quite impractical as a general rule. For that matter, borrowing and credit makes it possible for people to make large purchases that it's very difficult to do otherwise--like buying cars or houses. WE also deend on a (pretty amazing) worldwide distribution network that makes goods available to us that we would NEVER have otherwise. There is certainly a lot of bad stuff that happens within this system that desperately needs correction, but it's not evil always and everywhere.
