Freeing the mind of all support one should not allow any thought to arise. Then O gazelle-eyed Goddess, the state of Bhairava will be attained when the (individual) self has merged in the Absolute Self.
Vijñāna Bhairava Tantra - 108
Introduction - The Sphere of Reality
Reality in its simplest form can be seen as a sphere or as an egg. This spherical model can be conceptually divided into two halves: the upper hemisphere and the lower hemisphere. The upper hemisphere is the most subtle. It contains the consciousness, the being, the Supersoul. And the lower hemisphere is the most visible - the physical body, along with prana. The two hemispheres are interconnected by a plane, which is the mind.
What is Mind
What is mind? It is a complex and multifaceted concept that has been the subject of study and debate among philosophers, scientists, and spiritual thinkers for centuries. One way to understand the mind is to consider it a part which has been given to you. It is not yours. The mind is an accumulation, borrowed from various sources - from the parents, from the neighbors, from the teachers, from the society, from the social media, from the libraries. Its hunger is insatiable, continuously absorbing all kinds of information, even contradictory ones, which may lead to tensions and internal conflicts. For instance, if one is born into a Christian family, they might believe from childhood that the Earth is 6000 years old as stated in the Bible. However, upon learning in school that the Earth is actually 4.5 billion years old, both pieces of information are stored in the mind, causing conflict and anxiety and inner turmoil. And it is impossible for one to decide which way to go; one is pulled apart in all directions. If somehow he can maintain his balance, this is normal insanity. Insanity is there, but it is just the same as everybody else’s.
Sane and Insane
Carl Gustav Jung, the father of analytical psychology remarks, “show me a sane man and I will cure him for you”. Whenever somebody goes beyond the boundary of normal humanity, he is considered insane. If an individual manages to contain their inner turmoil without causing societal disruption or distress to others, they are deemed sane.
In contrast, Eastern psychology asserts that only a yogi can be considered truly sane. Insanity, whether expressed or unexpressed, is still insanity. How, then, does the mind of a yogi operate?

I love videos like this. I’m at 15 months SR. I practice yoga, meditation, and pranayama daily. Once you begin on this path you can never turn back. Nothing in the world satisfies you the same. Pleasures seem cheap and temporary and leave you feeling hollow. There’s nothing like the bliss of the soul it’s pure ecstasy:)

@@mu.108Yes that’s what the “SR” stands for in my comment. For meditation with eyes closed I focus only on the third eye and let my thoughts gradually disappear. I then try to stay in the space of pure awareness no thoughts. That’s where the magic happens.

Okay for instance I've been on a streak just a couple hours ago before I relepsed it was a 1 day and 8 hour streak but I relapsed a couple hours ago, I wasn't like. Disappointed and feel guilty , ofc I do if you know what I mean, but I didn't let it get to my head and feel down, like right now I'm cooling, I told my self it's time to be serious again, I feel happy right now, I made all my decisions and I dealt with the outcome, anyways....since I relapsed, did I lose all my Energy? I only jacked off twice, one without porn, and one with, did I close my third eye? Will I no longer be able to manifest? Of course I'm not at my peak but did I lose everything in my Semen? Or do I still have Energy left and it's all in my head.

The advantage of be here now as Ram Dass put it is that is the only place you can see what is. When in thought your attention is captured by thought by some measure which leaves you less present to see what is in real time or the moment, dealers choice. Either way if you can discern yourself from your thought and emotion you already know whayIm talking about.

Now, it would be a big mistake to conclude that anyone who seems to react ordinarily are ordinary. Especially in the case of devotees, they may neglect any yogic perfection on purpose because that will only take one to the Brahman realisation but they may be already enjoying the company of the Supreme Absolute God which no Yogi can attain by any means. The example is that of Maharaja Ambarisha who did not possess any yogic abilities yet his devotion gave a perfected Yogi, Rudravatar Durvasa Muni a run for his very life. The Bhagavad Gita CH 15 verses 16 to 20 clearly explains this very thing IF one does not try to state those verses as incomplete etc to bring in a monistic conclusion instead from somewhere else.
@sidhantsharma9961
@sidhantsharma9961 19 дней назад
Now, it would be a big mistake to conclude that a Bhakta is an ordinary person. Especially in the case of genuine devotees. Most devotees have a concentrated mind as their object of concentration is their personal deity. Look at the life of Sri Ramakrishna for example. The path of a Yogi is different, and should not be compared with that of a Bhakta.
@arjunkrishnadas
@arjunkrishnadas 18 дней назад
@@sidhantsharma9961 Their paths are leading to different aspects of the same absolute truth. The Bhakta in particular would realise The Supreme Absolute God himself while a Yogi will at the most realise his true identity of Brahman. Why can't they be compared? And Maharaja Ambarisha is a Gem among devotees and there is no comparison with anyone. The cases of others may as well be dismissed as hallucinations but not that of Shri Ambarisha from the Puranas.
@sidhantsharma9961
@sidhantsharma9961 18 дней назад
@@arjunkrishnadas They can't be compared because the Yogi doesn't want what the Bhakta wants and vice versa/ Hence, there's a bias. A Yogi can be an Atheist as well, as defined in the Yog sutras. Shri Ambarisha might be genuine but I would rather believe a figure like Sri Ramakrishna who was a living Avatar of this era. Who knows if Shri Ambarisha really existed or not. Ramakrishna's case was definitely not hallucinatory as he was able to make others feel what he felt through touch (Shakti pat). And there's a lot of documented evidence for it. And the end of the day, it all boils down to the temperament of the person. A modern intellectual would likely follow Advaita/yug sutras/buddhism as opposed to faith based philosophies.
@arjunkrishnadas
@arjunkrishnadas 18 дней назад
@@sidhantsharma9961 OH. You believe Yog sutras by Patanjali but doubt the world of Shri Vedavyasa. That is not very logical. A Yogi cannot be an atheist because then there is no Yoga to the Supreme. The various Yogis can be compared and can be understood to be hierarchical based on where they stand. This can be seen in the Bhagavad Gita where the verse 'Manushyanam sahasreshu kachin yatati siddhaye..' and 'Yoginam api sarvesham..' etc does exactly that. The Shakti pat instances are tales too. So if they are documented, they won't become evidence. I agree with the thing with modern minds though. But then again, if they can get themselves to 'believe' in a thing like Brahman, then it is not difficult to be a devotee either.
@sidhantsharma9961
@sidhantsharma9961 18 дней назад
@@arjunkrishnadas Your bias is very heavy. If I were to guess, Iskon? I don't believe anyone’s word as such, I like to experiment and experience. Yog sutras have been pretty close to what I’ve experienced so far. Btw, Ved vyasa has written a commentary on Yog sutras called Yogabhashya, you should check it out. And you don't need to experience Brahman, you are it. Tat Tvam Asi. Anything you can experience is not Brahman. Anyhow, this is my last reply. I don't want to argue whether the Shakti path is true or not. Good day.

Using the term "no mind" is inappropriate, because actual no mind happens in either deep sleep or death. A more appropriate term here would be "still mind" with no thoughts.

@sidhantsharma9961 2 месяца назад

@soumyasar31
@soumyasar31 2 месяца назад
@@sidhantsharma9961 if you go by the definition of samadhi as given by patanjali, in samadhi the mind of observer becomes one with the observed. This never says there's no mind, in reality there's nothing as no mind, no mind is void, non existing.
@sidhantsharma9961
@sidhantsharma9961 2 месяца назад
@@soumyasar31 The mind is only there when there is an observer and an observed. When it’s dual. In Samadhi, it’s one, non-dual. Can you point to a mind when you’re in Samadhi? In Samadhi there just is. In Samadhi, the self is self luminated, there’s awareness and it’s aware. And that’s not the mind, as there’s no observed, or an object. Deep sleep is more like an unconscious state of no-mind. I would say, rely more on your experience than texts.
@soumyasar31
@soumyasar31 2 месяца назад
@@sidhantsharma9961 I'm going by text because there are multiple kinds of samadhis, when you say there's no object only self, you're referring to nirvikalpa samadhi. But what about savikalpa samadhi, where your object is not the atman? Mind has to be there to perceive it, a single pointed mind, but definitely not no mind. In my experience if you exist and you are aware about it, its because you have a functioning mind. You cannot exist if your mind cease to exist, example death.
@sidhantsharma9961
@sidhantsharma9961 2 месяца назад
@@soumyasar31 Yup, you’re right. I’m referring to Nirvikalpa Samadhi going by your definition of Samadhi. “The mind of the observer becomes one with the observed”. If the observer and the observed become one, what is there to perceive? It’s non-dual. If there is perception, then it’s dual, there is a perceiver and an object of perception, but that cannot be the case in your definition of Samadhi. Again, don’t go into semantics and instead move toward realizing your mind’s knowledge. The spiritual ego is sly, perceive it and move forward.
