My dad Ian Robson is an Anglo Indian and worked on the Indian railways on the steam locomotive. He is 81 years old and I am his daughter who is writing this.

I miss my Anglo friends as most of them migrated to Australia. Today when I ride through main road , the memories of mid 60s flash through my mind. What bygone days. Will never come back.

Truly Truly a very nostalgic video -- thanks so much for putting this together ; shared today by my close friend from UK , I have taken down the phone numbers and names of the brothers & sisters presented in this video - thank you. My friendship with the Anglo Indian Community hails from ST BEDE's Anglo Indian High School , passed out in 1983 ; and playing keyboards for AIRWAVES ( Winston Feegrade) who now is in Dubai. So many parties , weddings and Annual Dances @ the Railway Institute and Railway club --- Nostalgic and even brings a tear to my eye. My Wife unexpectedly passed away in 2021 May during the Pandemic after she risked her life to save me; now I am alone a widower and need to connect again with the taste's and regularize home cooked food to me place; I stay at Adyar. Thanks again to you all . Love & God Bless Stephen

Finally a good documentation of the Anglo Indian community of Madras. They were such a vibrant, joyful, stylish community, highly skilled and having strong footholds in select fields like music, teaching, nursing, front office, secretarial, clergy, sport etc. They were well dressed in western style with features to match. Then within just a span of about ten or so years they all went on mass migration and suddenly this very visible community became a rarity. I really miss the Anglo Indians of Madras. But thanks to this video, I realise that we still have them in pockets and do wish that they continue to make India their home.

I had lived most of my life in Madras being an Anglo I always felt I did not have an identity. This video will creat a sense of awareness about such a unique community especially to the stereo types. Such lovely memories after seeing this documentary. A true feeling of Nostalgia.

Time has changed a lot, but memories remain fresh giving delight whenever we recollect them. Anglo-Indian culture is a symbol of confluence between two great nations and their people. Indian govt should take steps so that this unique community and its culture grow and prosper.

Ha ha first stop bringing some philosophical gibberish into dancing which is nothing but an insignificant activity to cure people's boredom. The physical body is interested only in survival and reproduction and humans play the worst role on the planet. Supposedly you need a lesson or two in science and medicine before talking about autistic children. You don't even know the history of AI cusine but seem to be giving sermons about balance, coconut rice was nothing but a cheap copy of a Kerala malabar dish, ball curry is Another kofta curry mughalai dish copied with slight variations added.

Thank the force I chose to write. Hmm. You all know offlate I'm not expressive in social media. What brought me again.. two Noble souls.. Harry and Dom ... Inspite of all pandemic... Both clocked.. I have to thank Harry for bringing back few of old habits..ie reading and Dom for keeping me in good spirits. I can see the great efforts of Harry MacLure and his team.. in documenting their heritage... Recent one stands proof that no pandemic or whatever can stop him from covering. Hats off to Harry .. I really loved the perambur episode. Do keep going . My wishes.

Good stuff! Very interesting. My father came from this place and was an apprentice in the railways in the 1950's. My parents were married in Lourdes church in 1960. Also curious to know about a community of Jamaicans who lived here
