I love my letter carrier. He delivers in cold, snow, sleet, heat, etc. and is always courteous and helpful. He is a hero to me. Stop the stereotyping and unreal expectations!
Whether you sit in an office, fly a plane, deliver mail, there is a reasonable degree of professionalism you are expected to accomplish your tasks with. Something tells me this man is being vtaped because of past behavior and/or complaints. Whereas you wl sound like a cop that got busted slapping a pregnant woman on his body cam. He is being payed by U.S. taxpayers, us. The company again pays for the safe and timely delivery of that mail by the USPS. This isn't hard or complicated.
@@johnsandefur2724 Wrong, the usps does not get paid by taxes. It is completely funded by its product (postage), absolutely zero taxpayers dollars. And the safe delivery is dependent on packaging. If packaged properly not a single item would have been damaged by anything he did. Trust me I know, I ship thousands of glass items every month and I have only had 3 items returned damaged, in the last 4 years. 1 of those items were admittedly broken after the item was opened and getting removed from packaging from the purchaser. Bubble wrap and packing peanuts, and pieces of cardboard to fill empty gaps in boxes to maintain the integrity of the box itself will save your package. Package it right and you don't need to worry about what happens during transit... oh yeah and use tape actually meant for cardboard boxes, not all tape will remain stuck to it, pay a little extra for the proper tape, and stuff to package it properly and sleep easy.
If you notice the guy was NOT wearing a letter carrier uniform and it was SUMMERTIME. He is a 90 temporary worker that the PO hires to fill in for regular letters during the summer when they all take vacations.
Not alway true. I'm a rural carrier and we aren't required to wear a uniform as the post office refuses to give us a uniform allowance like the city carriers get. So our union said "no money, then you can't make us buy our own uniform."
@@MailmanWilly79 ain't that the truth. No Uniform allowance and no vehicle if the route is over 50 miles. "Use/Buy your own POV b/c that's how it always was ... also, drink bleach to fight off colds, cause that's how it always was" ... last part's not true, but makes as much sense
@@1islander52 Penalty pay is anything over 10 in a day. Nothing to do with weekly hours. And yes, busy shops do work that much especially with Amazon Sundays. Sometimes making 7 day workweeks.
As a USPS carrier (rural) this video makes me sick. First, this guy didn't curb his wheels or lock his truck. He's blocking a handicapped space. The way he treats the parcels is just unbelievable. Then as he leaves you can tell HE LEFT THE TRUCK RUNNING THE WHOLE TIME! For those of you who don't know, turning your truck off and setting the parking brake are drilled into our heads from day one. This guy is a clown and if he hasn't been, he should be shown the door, permanently! Unfortunately the public will see this and think he is what all carriers are like, which obviously isn't the case.
As a letter carrier, I disagree. Those parcels are fine. Tosses like that won’t damage the parcels. And if the contents inside are damaged from gentle tosses like that, then it’s ok whoever did the packaging. Plus, since we are all letter carriers here, we know that those parcels will get tossed hard and far later on. I do agree that he shouldn’t have blocked the handicap parking space and that he should have locked his LLV since it looks like his line of sight was to his LLV was obstructed.
he's a rural carrier....they have their own contract/set of rules. regular city carriers get paid by the hour. rural's get paid by number of stops and piece count on what they deliver. he probably got "screwed" with his last inspection. i have heard stories that when they get inspected, they businesses dont have so many packages, our offices seem to "mysteriously" have less mail.
if they are laughing its not that serious. Me, as a costumer...when a thing is wrong...I WARN first, not tape it and destroy's somebody life. The same way when I do something wrong...i like to be warned...be careful, that's fragile...top load only...etc... Unless this client was the reason he was angry, the way they were in a stupid mocking way giggling and making fun of somebody who is actually working...(good or bad, it's work).
If I got paid the salary that the USPS gives these people I'd probably throw more than boxes. My husband delivers mail, they have him walking from 8am until 7pm continuously, no lunch breaks, no health insurance, as a carrier assistant sometimes they don't call you in for work for an entire week or you're working Mon through Sat w/ only 1 day off, falling down steps slipping on ice etc. all for a measly $15/hour, hardly pays our mortgage and we're on food stamps, no doc visits they won't give him health insurance so we can't get sick & meds cost in the hundreds, the postal trucks have no air conditioning either.....these people are overworked and underpaid.
+Anglynn74 Tell him to quit, and start being an Elvis Tribute Artist.... good money, nice traveling 1st class.... it's much better. What's his size? I'll send him my autograph....
The USPS is a government operation but it is NOT funded by tax money, if you don’t buy stamps you don’t fund the post office no matter how many taxes you pay.
I'm a rural carrier and I agree 100%. It's embarrassing, he needs to be called out on it. It makes those of us that do the best we can while out on our routes-- work harder to salvage our pride, to offset bad apples that ruin our reputation as a whole. Send him to EAP that's what it's for
This guy has to rearrange his load to be delivered still just to get this amount of parcels in his truck. He’s got supervisors on his butt to not go into overtime. There’s a postmaster general who is screwing over the entire P.O. by cutting overtime, employees and sorting machines. Of course he’s pissed off. The company should have called for a special pickup. And then you’ve got a couple of a##holes who think it’s funny to record him. Maybe you should be giving the mail carrier a hand instead.
He's actually not doing anything wrong. Parcels get tossed all the time on the workroom floor and during processing. Rarely does this cause them damage. All the damage I've sen is from careless packaging by the customer or when too many parcels are stacked on top of each other during transportation. If anything, he's saving time and being more efficient... but these people filming who sit on their asses all day wouldn't know anything about that.
here's what he's thinking as he tosses each box.."mother fuckers videoing me and got all these goddamn boxes, let's see how they like this shit, here take this you fucking box"...lmao
I worked for USPS for more than 10 years...never handled customer's packages like that. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!! I assume that after catching this guy on video, that you went to the Post Office and spoke directly with the Postmaster. He should have lost his job on the spot! (And the lady laughing/commenting in the video should be reprimanded too!) Your company will have to deal with the damage your packages suffer, and who is to say they are handled any better later while being unloaded.
your shit gets thrown around no matter who you ship with, besides he doesn't seem too angry..just in a hurry. Just be glad your saving all that cash using USPS.
it doesn't matter if you're rural or city. you've gotta respect your customers and respect your job. its too damn hard to find a job these days to be TRYING to lose one. im a city carrier and this just makes everyone lump us all into one stereotype. this clown is embarrassing.
You would probably quit in a week. The job is hard as fuck and not a single thing about it is enjoyable. No AC, Strict deadlines. It's easy to talk like it's soo great till you actually work the job. For background, Before the USPS I worked on a farm, 12+ hours a day 6 days a week 10 bucks an hour and that was a FAR more enjoyable job than my current job as a CCA.
I am a carrier and this guy is making more work for himself - with all the parcels and mail we carry you have to be neat and organized or your screwed, and this guy isn't wearing a regular carrier uniform so he is a CCA and possibly the bosses put him into service without proper training. If you see this you should call in a complaint sometimes that's the only way to get this fixed
I hope this man isn't married because his wife probably gets abused just like those boxes. He looks like someone you would see on the news when a worker goes postal.
@@jimmypatterson3998/KissHope: IRL, workplace violence incidents involve clerks/mail handlers, stuck in an environment of never ending micromanagement. Carriers, unless they're assigned to case/process 2 routes, are expected to leave the station within 60-90 mins after beginning their tour.
USPS has a fund to pay for retirement pension for the next 75 years of carriers -- mandated by congress. hence the rumors of being in "bad shape." they're making money now after having paid most of it off.
I do feel for him. Worked with royal mail and you get given packages, and then you have tp pre sort them which can take up to 40 minutes. But he shouldn't be throwing shit in his van like that.
This guy is probably a newby under probation. The lack of uniform tells me that! After this.....he should, most likely be fired immediately! New hires don't get uniforms until they pass their 90 day probation! He really sucks! BTW....I'm a retired carrier, and this totally outrageous!
Well, he would Probably only get fired if he blew up the truck in more ways than one. As a Rural Carrier I can tell you just throwing that many packages in there makes it nearly impossible to find the ones you are trying to deliver down the road. It is much better to at least be somewhat organized otherwise you waste time search for the ones for you next deliver because they are under the ones you just picked up. :/
The guy is just a bad carrier. Tax money doesn't fund the USPS. The reason why they are hurting for money is the fact that Congress requires them to fund retirement for 75 years in advance. They are actually posting profits if they didn't have to fund retirement so far out in advance,
I am a CCA (City Carrier Assistant) and Yes that behavior is quite counter-productive due to the limited room in those vehicles when it comes to parcels. however if you are worried about him breaking your shipments i only wish you could see how it goes inside the post offices when the clerks are sorting those out. LOL they nail 3X3 foot bins from 70-100 feet away!!!!!
I did. After 12 years of working for USPS with a very good work record, I left for better work. If you treat other's goods like that, someday karma will catch up with you. And I am very aware that distribution clerks/mail handlers throw packages in the shop when sorting them, but you are in the public eye. Good luck with your job. You must have a lot of satisfied customers.
Here's my take on it: He goes out in the morning with that vehicle smaller than a mini-van FULL of mail & boxes SORTED to DELIVER. Now he has to re-arrange & make room for your special outgoing boxes, messing up his sorted deliveries. So with the time you sit on your ass, video him, make smart-ass comments, and then upload the video to youtube, why don't you just TAKE YOUR DAMN BOXES TO THE POST OFFICE? It's probably less than one mile away.
Not all carriers wear uniforms. I wear blue jeans and a PENN STATE hoody or something like that in the fall and winter and board shorts and a t-shirt during the spring and summer
@@larrypresley1: Rural carriers are not required/reimbursed to wear postal uniforms. Same goes for new hire city carrier associates. However, both are expected to maintain clean/presentable work wear while on duty.
They should discipline his behind! !..... I've work for the post office for 30 years...that is unacceptable!!...if I saw fellow worker doing that kind of service. ..I would stop him in his tracks and reprimand him!!
meanwhile he's probably getting overtime after 8 hours/double time after 10... plus working 6 days a week. stressed obviously, getting undeserved criticism. he may be new. but one thing is certain... he's probably making 70k+ a year with govt benefits and little to no supervision. this is a subconscious show of how oppressed you feel at your job and how unhappy you are in life. oh, and your pay, your healthcare bills, your retirement fund deposits, and corporate goons breathing down your neck.
he probably got a cut and that means less money for more time on the street. this is not an excuse for bad behavior. just an insight. if a city carrier had to lose time by loading all those packages, we get paid for it. rurals dont. they can work 10 hours and not get paid for it.
We still fund USPS but not directly. The Postmaster General appears on C-SPAN before who? OUR GOVERNMENT. Turn to C-SPAN, instead of MSLSD for the facts!!!
If somebody threw your package 📦 into vehicle instead of plscing it down like a normal person, I would not be laughing. I would ask for those packages back and pick a new courier. I think this guy is tired of his job!
only rural carriers don't wear uniforms. all city carriers even temps have to wear uniforms he is more likely a rural carrier. at least at my station, but still he is giving the post office a very bad rep.not all are like that. just make room for that when you get your load ready to deliver, and wa-la neat and organized with out the need the toss throw or disrespect customers packages.
Absolutely right! This is why the USPS needs to be much more careful during the hiring process. This looks to be done about the time of the "TE invasion", where any slug could get a part time job with the USPS; entrusted with the sanctity of the mail. We are well compensated for what we do, and have a SOP to adhere to. Running late? Call by a certain time to notify your supervisor. Picking up massive amounts of mail is a viable excuse for running over your time, and DUH it's a GOOD thing not bad
temps don't have uniform allowance til 90 working days or 120 calendar days. they're expensive as hell and you can't buy them with your own money. until that probationary period, USPS technically can't tell a carrier what to wear and what not to wear. chances are they're either 1) not in the union, so they can't get hand-me-downs or donations or 2) in the union but too lazy to ask a friend or drive to a unionized post office.
Lol its funny if you guys think packages get nicely placed until it gets delivered to your house..if it doesn't have the label ""fragile" on it, most likely it will get thrown some where throughout the delivery process.
From doing seasonal work at two post offices years ago, I learned to very securely wrap anything I send, using plenty of protection (bubble wrap, newspaper, etc.). Boxes do get tossed around a lot during the sorting process, then you might get a driver like this as well.
postal workers are just mad cause they know times are changing and we dont use the mail as much anymore... they had a gravy high paying job with benefits and times are changing and we dont need half the workers they have... and theres so many ppl willing to fill there shoes they know there job is at risk
That's a lie. I made GREAT money. Busted my ass for these non-appreciated jerks of supervisors. Retired last year. Thank God i don't have to do it anymore.
Wow! He has a job. It is to deliver mail/packages and to collect the outgoing mail. If they take the boxes directly to the PO, this fool wouldn't have a job. Respectfully, he needs to know who exactly he works for: the guy who is putting postage on packages that he has to pickup...the guy who is video taping his childish behavior.
I know this is literally 8 years late but like… the postal service is a public service??? He will never be out of a job unless mail literally gets outlawed or something lmfao there will always be mail. It makes no difference to him personally if he has to make that pickup or not
I sometimes have the idea that someday when there is no delivery for the entire property, which is apartments, that the mail is kept at the post office to be delivered when more mail is to be delivered yo the property. I find that quite possible
Don't get me wrong, it's not right to just throw packages in there like that but I probably feel that dudes pain. It's a pain doing these package pick ups sometimes when there are like 30 packages. Especially if it's at the beginning of the route and even so if it's a long route. To keep things organized when there is so much already in the truck and now there's like 30 more packages you have to put in and don't want to mix it cause you'll think it's a package you need to deliver. I can't explain it but yall also just don't understand how frustrating it is.
+TheFuzzyPenguin He is either a CCA(temp City Letter Carrier) aka City Carrier Assistant or he is a Rural Carrier or RCA aka Rural Carrier Assistant. CCA's get a clothing allowance to purchase postal uniforms after they pass their 90 day probation. Rural Carrier's unfortunately don't get a clothing allowance therefore don't have any postal uniforms to wear for whatever reason and it's always driven me nuts bc some of them dress like slobs and I'm ashamed to see them delivering for us and representing the USPS as a whole. I do agree that he shouldn't be throwing the packages like this at all. He did look very angry the way he was throwing some of those. Everyone, please keep in mind that packages shipped with any company move on conveyor belts in some facilities and tumble down the belts (going up or down a slope) if they're top heavy the way they started on the belts. Other VERY heavy packages possibly will end up on top of them so just be sure to pack your items well no matter which company you ship through.
First of all, tell that parade float that walked into the shot to keep himself off camera. He's a corpulent, sweaty embarrassment. Secondly, do you have nothing better to do than film people working? I sure hope no one ever records you burning their fries
"camailman usps": I wish there were more like you! Thanks for your belief in customer service. Maybe some big delivery dependent company, like Amazon, Ebay, etc., will see how jerks like this guy hurt their bottom line and start doing something about it.
I whip this box to the front I whip this box to the front! Seriously though, I would have asked why he threw my stuff when he brought the cart back in.
Not fedex... Fedex are partners with USPS... They don't suck as much as USPS but also suck... . The only company that does the job is UPS. I'm not saying they are perfect, but they are the best. . Over many many years and 1000s of orders online I had just a few problems with UPS. Every second delivery with USPS is a pain in a sas. Fedex every 5th...
Vasja Pupkin Ahahaha All bark no bite. Shocker :P You're not even a good troll haha. How does it feel to be this shitty at everything you do? #failureatlife
There are far too many lazy and incompetent people working for USPS, both temporary and permanent. My (permanent) mail carrier won't even deliver packages to me, he just leaves a "sorry we missed you" form without even coming to the door and expects me to do his job and go pick it up. What a dick.
I work as a carrier myself and it actually more work if we left you a notice instead of the parcel. I'll explain to you why: 1) when leaving a notice we first must have the parcel to write down the article number on the notice (package), date, time for pickup, address, name, type package, etc 2) we must have the package in hand to scan attempted, and write NL (notice left), date attempted on parcel and bring it back to post office. We may need to bring it back out again if customer request redelivery. If we just drop of the package we can just scan deliver and skip all the other steps which actually save us time which we don't have but some rather leave notice because they don't want to be held responsible or get harrass about lost package from customer or supervisor. I have customer who are home several occasion because I can see them from outside, but when I knock on the door and yell "post office, package delivery" and they still wouldn't answer, so I just left them a notice instead ... Haha
do you have a dog? I had an angry mail lady who threw away many packages or she scanned them but delivered them to another person. She's gone now but I still lost hundreds of dollars.
You might live in a neighborhood where multiple packages are reported stolen, which are usually nicer neighborhoods because they usually order expensive stuff. Or does a dog that poses a threat. I once lived in a neighborhood where a carrier was attacked by a dog and all mailboxes on the street had to go curbside and no packages were delivered because the dog owner wouldn't get rid of the dog and it was constantly getting off its chain so the carrier wasn't allowed to get out of the vehicle. It might not be laziness or anything that is your fault it might just be the circumstances in the area causing the non delivery.
@@tcollier5460 Thanks for your insightful comment. I left my original comment 8 years ago and since then the mail carrier on my route has changed and packages now arrive on my front porch without issue. I guess my old carrier didn't take pride in his job like you do. Thank you for your dedicated service.
That is on private commercial property, which if a business wants delivery to front desk instead of a mailbox, they have to agree to allow postal parking up front without the carrier having to back up (because they can't see behind them). If this agreement is not made the business does not get delivery to front desk. So his parking is actually allowed by the business he is at.
