I’ve always known vibrating controllers could do this I think our phones should be able to do this but I absolutely loved the hd rumble letting you feel the music
I hate you Not because of anything personal but because the ending was sad enough and already made me cry but now that I know thus I keep listening to the lyrics and start crying more
@@gursharnsingh8191 yes but it’s atleast the last nice thing the final boss did was to give you Akira back in some form even if it’s not the original i thing she still has the spirit of the original
The fact that when you load your save after finishing the game, it's the protag. that talks is genius. Also that this song feels like its Akira/Max that's talking to protag., is great.
I totally lost my mind when it clicked in my head that the protag was the one speaking when I loaded the file back up. Totally threw me off since they barely said anything for the majority of the game hahah
I was cool but draw attention to a thing that it really feels off. Both Akira have voices in game. So.... Why you recieve the silent protagonist trament? Yes the epilogue moment was cool but it could be cooler to listen to you character reactions to other things and not only see him "emoting". Like when Akira is stabed. Or Akira being stabed. Or that other time you have to decide if stab Akira. Holly shit they love to stab her
@@leonardobianucci6218 You're meant to give the dialogue yourself for those moments, in your head. The protag is you: his/her narrative after the credits is fairly impartial, is why they allowed it in
@@tribacioustee2846 dude.... No. The dialogue options ar thing like... - Ok. Fine And - ... Sure? The only real choice is the last one. And Even if this was the case you can have the voice lines for the options. The only place when we can undestarnd no having the options recorded is in the clue-select parts but Even then is ridiculuos not having then... In a Va contrat that 120 lines will not make an economic impact anywhere in the production
The credits are amazing. No only is a surprise when the joycons start "dancing" to the beat of this song but i don't see people talking about how the credits use the photos that u have in you in game album for the credits. That was like... Too much. The epilogue save me of crying because is the ending was that i was to be destroyed
Sad that the camera cant hold more photos but this was a nice touch during the credits as I took wholesome photos of all my co-workers at NEURON. The story may have left alot to be desired, but the characters and their wholesome interactions are where alot of the game's heart lies and it was a very pleasant surprise during the credits
@@boomahwolf1218 my only problem with the story itself is that they don't Say that much. Even after ending the game if i don't read the entry of Noah i Will still don't know what was the idea or how Joseph believe that will sabe humanity. The bits when you have to read diaries entry doesnt help either.
I think the ending and credits were perfectly in line with the anime style (or rather, Tokusatsu style) the game took inspiration from. This game was only season 1 you guys, and the second one will be even crazier I'm sure.
The first season was just about saving the Ark. There's still a whole planet out there to be reclaimed from the chimeric scourge and their unseen, Lovecraftian masters! People say that humans looking up at a god is like ants looking up at a human. But they seem to forget that if a human stupidly sticks his fist in an anthill, the ants will swarm up his arm and *kill him.* Bring it on!

These two are easy my two favorite soundtracks for a game ever. Edit: there’s a spoiler under this for three houses Edge of Dawn is the best villain song in gaming history imo. I think it beats Still Alive, if by a small margin.
@@SuperGamer-pn4fi Awful convenient that Akira was cloned a bazillion times, isn't it? At least one of the clones survived, and they implanted it with the original's memories, which got stuck inside Akira's Type R Bowgun Legion. The only memories the clone is missing are anything that happened in the ARI facility...so they don't know they're a clone. Potential character development for a sequel...?
*Maximillian sacrifices himself* Me: Sad *Akria Dies* Me: Really Sad *Akira confirmed for Smash* Me: Pure Hype *Finds out they are only spirits* Me: *Cries in Lappy*
@@newbarkgal19 I've heard the gameplay didn't click with everyone, along with the story. I never heard anyone complains about the soundtrack except one friend
Akira is my fav character after all he went through, always being there for you, he just suffered so much on the game! Got stabbed 2 times first by Jena for trying to save you and then by his clones he was victim of Yoseph experiments, tried to get over his father death got moments of existencial crisis and madness but remained loyal to you, and then he just goes and dies at the end damn I was sad there
chipi 4 Imagine their sibling who had to presence those events as well as kill their only family left, wether by their hand or by their Legion disobeying them.
@@SonicBlast4444 The Legions in that scene are symbolic of the will of their original owners as they either support your conviction or take the burden in your stead.
Whats hurts even more than this song is that *spoiler alert* If you pick I can't at the end akira's legion pops out of your legatus and finishes her/him itself And if you pick alright your dad's legion pops out and helps you It just hurts And with the arrow legion its like it doesn't want to see its old master in pain so it does it itself to save her from it because it really cares about them Its just an emotional punch in the face
@@cyberdude4 It certainly feels that way. There's even the Dark Hero Male and Female versions with different compositions that play depending on when you FIGHT YOUR RIVAL in the usual Character Action/Platinum fashion.
This is amazing i could gush about it for hours but when you say '....i cant' to akira it just so sad and this game is literally out here making me cry like a god damn baby the music amazing the combat amazing the story amazing apart from 1 or 2 little things and when your controller starts dancing to the music and it shows all your pictures from your gallery in the credits and jena when you go super saiyan AHHH its just to much honestly i know how good three houses was but this honestly is my GOTY
@@davidfisher9252 Huh, odd. I wonder why our were different. I just assumed that it was always the Arrow Legion. Although, when I chose the other option on a repeat file, I got a cutscene with the Axe legion. Maybe it's randomised? I'm not sure.
The last choice changes the Legion used. Accepting to kill Noah and Akira will have the Axe Legion appear and kill them both with the protag screaming in acceptance and power. Hesitating to kill Noah and Akira will have the Arrow Legion do it for you while the protag cries in agony as he/she’s not ready to see his sibling die.
@@crysalistwo189 A lot of people Speculate that Akira him/herself called out the Arrow Legion since it used to be His/ Hers basically making the hard choice for the protag.
WTF WAS IGN TALKING ABOUT? This games story is archetypal for sure, but it ain't predictable by a long shot. And the soundtrack when the game decides an awesome theme is called for is phenomenal. also, advice for anyone who could use it. MAKE ABSOLUTE SURE YOU INVEST IN YOUR BEAST AND SWORD LEGIONS. Sword has DPS off the charts cause it has a 20% attack buff in addition to its 5% and 10% attack boosts, it has those same buffs for defense and as a result it is one of the most offensive and defensive legions. it's also a really fast attacker. (multiple of each of those btw) and some enemies can only be effectively fought with the beast legion such as camouflaged chimeras or burrowing chimeras that are making the other ones invincible (yes that fucking happens and it's really stupid until you figure it out as the game won't tell you).
tbh I neglected the Beast legion the entire game and don't regret it. It's probably the least useful one in the game imo. Other than the final boss where it's kinda needed.
@@TheLonelyGoomba Nah. The Beast Legion is one of the best Legions for end-to postgame. Especially it's Howl ability, that shit can be a lifesaver. Although he is kinda hard to control at first, for some reason always running in circles instead of charging the enemy like the other Legions. I guess you could say it fits it's theme of well, being a beast.
In what world is Astral Chain's story not predictable? I mean, I liked it, but I (and I'm sure many others) predicted most majors events with ease It's even more predictable when you played a platinum game before (Spoilers below just in case) You're telling me, that seeing Yoseph in the very beginning didn't already tell you he was the bad guy? His attitude and demeanor along with the fact he was a commander? (In gaming or anime it's rarely if ever good commanders/boss, they all turn out bad) That Max was gonna die/go missing? the fact that your player was more special then your sibling was going to cause some jealousy? You definitely cannot tell me having the Legion Fusion wasn't predictable. It was badass, but predictable, almost every PGame has some type of mode you can use or unlock I think the only real surprise is MAYBE the Siblings clones, and that's purely if you didn't think too much on them being in the tube after their near death
I finished chapter 11 today (PT Standard) and the final boss fight was the most epic final boss fight I've had in a long time, holy shit... And that was amazing! The characters were meh but I liked the story more than I should be and the gameplay was fantastic. Now I want to play the other good PlatinumGames games (I've only played Star Fox Zero, NieR: Automata and Astral Chain so far) and the spiritual predecessor of the PlatinumGames games (DMC, Okami, Viewfull Joe 1 & 2, P.N.03...). I'm not sure this, Fire Emblem Three Houses or Link's Awakening is my GOTY. Now, time for the post game!
I think the characters only feel meh because we don't get too much time with them. The best characters I'd say are Hal, Marie, and of course Akira. Marie is the mascot character and was designed to be fun and endearing. Hal and Akira are present with you through a majority of the game, so you get to know them fairly well. I think a lot of the characters have a ton of potential and given more time with them I'm certain I'll love them. I really hope we get a sequel for this game that's a bit longer and allows us to get to know the characters more. For example, I thought Kyle was an incredibly fun character. Great design, humorous dialogue, but we only really spend one file with him. He left an impression and I'd really like to know more. Here's hoping for a sequel that allows the protagonist to leave the Ark and put a full stop to the pandemic.
@@lolo-TM No, I like the setting. It's just the pacing and potential for so many characters were put to waste. You never see Alicia or Jinn towards the end, Kyle was only relevant for a chapter, etc. It felt so weird.
