Just installed this on my 2011 6.7 3"lift, 35" tires, and everything went well until we got to the passenger side of the install. First if your running stock 17" rims the bolt has to go in from the top, else you will never get the wheel on. Then your gonna have to grind a lot of material off the front of that bolt to clear the rim, but it works. It drives and feels like a totally different truck. My only gripe is I feel like when turning a tight left it doesnt travel as far. I dont know why I dont see anything binding.
Replace the trac bar, drag link, entire tie rod including both ends, replace the gear box, and all the ball joints both sides. .... thats what fixed mine. I bought all moog, except the gear box.
Matt Garrett absolutely worth it in my option! Much tighter than the 3rd gen steering. I’m interested to see how much better it gets when I put the new stabilizer on! Video coming soon.
Hey quick question about measuring the drag link for the kit. Did you measure it with the old linkage on there? Also does this kit allow you to run 16 inch rims or do they have to be bigger to clear the passenger side heim joints and bolt
Sam Preh you want to measure the drag link with the old one in place. From the middle of the pitman arm bolt to the middle of the bolt on the passenger side knuckle. And you can clear it with 16s shouldn’t be a problem.
I know this is an old video but how did you sling your steering? Did you take it to a shop and they did it or what? And lp24v doesn’t sell theses anymore does he?
On my baja bug I went to spherical joint and was able to get a a tapered to straight threads and did not have to drill out the tapered hole. not sure if available for your particular taper
Rumpelstillskin not really lol. It’s way more common than you think and has never had a problem with the knuckles cracking or breaking. This steering is meant for off road abuse lol.
Gary Cantrell yeah we have a lot of pot holes here, the roads are terrible. But even without a steering stabilizer it now drives 100% better even better than it did with the 3rd gen steering and stabilizer.
How well is the joints holding up in the weather? I wouldn’t think that kind of set up would be very good for a daily driver? I’m looking for a good steering box for my 01 dodge so I don’t have to work so hard driving the damn thing. 😩
Ik this video is old but what rims are these I’ve been searching for the best looking rim for my second gen and these look the best on this truck so if you can try and get back that would be amazing
Kenny Lemmonds I already had the track bar done from dodgeoffroad, which you can see in an earlier video on the channel. And the end links are coming soon! Stay tuned. 🤙🏻
NeverSatisfied24v awesome man. What’s the lift on your truck? Or this one. I dig your channel and both yours and Preston’s Cummins I am a little over a year build on mine but am thinking a leveling kit and one of these (track bar/bracket, end links and cross over steering) do you guys tow? I do and that’s why my truck is used for long distance towing so you like this application for that?
Kenny Lemmonds 7” lift on this truck. And yes we both do and haven’t had any problems so far. I noticed it was easier to haul the trailer with the new steering. I would do a leveling kit or new bigger springs if you tow a lot and also rear trac bars, to prevent axle wrap.
Vinny F from stock to 20+” the tie rod measurement will always be the same. You just measure from the center of the knuckle bolt to the center of the pitman bolt. He has a drawing on the website so you know exactly where to measure.
mmmontague the website is in the description www.bryansautorebuilders.com/collections/94-02-dodge-ram/products/94-02-dodge-ram-front-end-rebuild I would recommend this front end rebuilt kit. Don’t forget to use promo code: Neversatisfied24v for 10% off! 👊🏻
Hey saw your video on cross over steering . Awsome upgrade! I measured my drag link and it shows 40.25 ? Does this sound about right? Before I purchase this kit it’s important for me to know since I’m in Canada thanks .
@@NeverSatisfied24v hey just did the cross over steering love it so far! Was wondering are u running a dual steering stabilizer on ur truck ? Or none at all ? Is it hard on it . Or just adding a red head steering box
Justin it’s tighter and drives way better. Night and day. Yeah the T style is junk. I’ve had it on for 8 months now and still don’t have a stabilizer shock and don’t need one.
@5:15 you said you bent up tie rod and drag link so that it’s not hitting. How did you bend it and how much? Is that something that is needed to be done? Great vids by the way.
Brian5150 the tie rod is on heims so as you can see in the videos you can bend it up or down before you tighten the heims up. Mine was bent wrong because his machine was messaged up but was fixed. So it wasn’t supposed to hit and I got a new one and it’s not even close to hitting the end links now. It was a flaw that was fixed. Anything was heims can be adjusted because the heims are threaded in.
I just ordered now - Nov. 4 - and talked to the guy before I ordered online. He said it would take about 45 days. He also said he has a hard time getting heim joints and that is really slowing things down. Not sure who I talked to, Logan, maybe. Anyways, he took the time to talk to me and answer my questions and told me to call him about anything. Seems like a stand-up dude. Good luck
I really like this setup it seems the same as DOR and Thurens. I like to read what other people have to say on the forums. But I cant find anything about this guy who makes this other than your video and his website.
Vinny F he’s been building this stuff for a couple years now. Multiple people run it and have ordered using my code and I’ve heard nothing but good about it. I haven’t had any problems with it. I would highly recommend it. Same exact as DOR jusy half the price. Same material and heims. I have a DOR trac bar and it’s the same size 1.5 DOM tubing.
@@NeverSatisfied24v I went on his website and emailed him with some questions. I just want to be sure of some things before I start drilling holes and then become married to it. You running a steering stabilizer?
Vinny F it might take awhile to get back to you as he gets a lot of emails and direct messages. Maybe I can help with the questions. And no there really is no need even with the 37s and 26x14 wheels I run now. Drives straight as an arrow and I haven’t even gotten an alignment yet lol.
Vinny F yeah we have a ton of pot holes here and the roads are crap but trust me you won’t need it lol I run 37s like I said. I was thinking about install ones but there’s really no need.
