The successful "Kung Fu Panda" series, which began back in 2008, has another instalment: in part 4, Panda Po has to make friends with a new career prospect. Master Shifu has set higher tasks for Po: He is no longer to be a dragon warrior, but is to become the spiritual leader of the entire valley. Po is not at all enthusiastic about this at first, as he is popular with the people as a dragon warrior and doesn't really know what the new task requires of him. Moreover, Po is supposed to choose a successor himself, and Master Shifu is confident that Po will recognise his successor when he sees him. Once again, the series is about charismatic rule, which is now particularly spiritually charged. The people in the valley and the audience in the theatre are to be seduced once again. Once again, the silly film series proves to be a mirror of society. More on this from Wolfgang M. Schmitt in the film analysis!
