I remember him so well in 1985 when we were both protégés of Nick at the academy and he was a few years younger than me but he had a MASSIVE desire to be acknowledged and known. He wanted to be like a rock star or celebrity and tennis was his way even if he didn’t know exactly yet how to actually become that great legend that he eventually became. I’m extremely proud of him and now that I have returned to pro tennis at age 58, I’d really like to play a match with him. Seems like old times but the only constant is the present moment. Go Andre. @@BugsySiegel-l3k precision is hitting precisely to a desired spot that ideally should be about the size and width of a soccer ball (maximum) and to be consistent is totally different. You just have to be able to get the ball in but not always a precise target area. A good player if not rushed or pushed hard can hit a thousand balls back into the court but only a master can hit those targets with accuracy AND consistency 🎾
Agassi the greatest player of all time. And a great human being - honest, smart, thoughtful, witty and generous. He won everything in an era with 20 times bigger competition than the Big 3 era. And yes he won all four Grand Slam tournament, the ATP Finals championship, the Olympic gold single and the Davis Cup. Nobody can repeat that. Plus he had a tons of finals, semifinal and quarterfinal in the biggest tournaments.
Missed hearing his thoughts on life, and the his incredible insight into life. Of course he had an amazing tennis career but what's flown under the radar is his post-tennis career trying to uplift kids from poverty and give them opportunities they otherwise wouldn't have through his foundation. This and his budding pickleball career. Go Andre!
I would say mentally Andre was stronger than Federer- he never squandered match point on 40-15, at Wimbledon or on AO, it's crucial when winning matches.
There are many who overrate Agassi. He is nowhere near the big 3. In the open era alone he is behind big 3, Sampras, Borg & even behind Lendl, Connors & Mcenroe. Yeah he is the only man to win career super slam but he never dominate the sports & lacks consistency when compared to other legends of the game.

This man is responsible for my love of tennis. I since moved on to Rafa, now I gotta fan girl over someone else. Maybe Carlos or sinner. Verdict is still out.
