Accidently said best to worst in the intro instead of worst to best. multiple people proofread this video this video multiple times and we missed something in the first 5 seconds xDDDDDDD LMAO. this is our first shot at content like this so please do forgive
I just came back to the game after taking a break for over a year. This was exactly the kind of video I needed to quickly load up on all legend info again. Ty for the vid
LOVE the music choices for this video. Music was the perfect volume so you could hear it, but the talking was a lot more dominant. Great video as always ❤
i one trick ash and shes been played a lot more, I dont wanna share her and I have been outpicked a lot, so I hope maybe people will stop playing her again and continue to think shes a trash character lol
A lot of people (who don’t play Rev) don’t even realize that Rev has the highlight ability; plenty of people think his passive is the superior climb and crouch. Why Rev needs temp wall scans is a mystery, and makes him a 1v1 machine.
As a devote Watty, nice to see a pro ranking Wattson so highly. Most Tier List vids rank her low. With a good team she can guarantee a win late game.... with a noob team her abilities are ignored.... cos the prevailing tactic of noobs is to run around like headless chickens chasing anything that moves. Then they spam revive button like your there to wet nurse them. Wattson is a team player. Alone she is a bit of a pudding.
Ngl that's something I noticed about all the top ranked characters - their team value. On their own their kids are alright, but when taking into account he team value it makes the character soooo much better.
The effort put into this video is nuts, so thorough and amazing editing showing off exact examples of scenarios to further show and insinuate the given reasons. FANTASTIC VIDEO 😀
As a support main in every game I could never really find a character in apex that fit my play style until conduit came out ! Ever since I got the first chance to play as her I have loved it and she has been my main since
YOU ARE SO GOATED I LOVE YOUUUU!!! Best tier list o have ever watched! Super analytical of the legends and much more in depth than your average RU-vidrs power ranking. Thank you his Wattson you are the goat!❤️❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥🐐🐐🐐
"Gibby has the best passive, best tactical, and best ult in the game, which nets him a solid spot in the F tier." I died. Playing Gibby, of course. His fall from grace felt like a wild result of the shift in meta. I was so sure he'd just be the king forever. XD
That is counterproductive at best disingenuous at worst. Gibraltar has the best everything in the game and is second worst character in the game? That makes no sense whatsoever.
@@deadwalke9588well he is fat has no movement abilites so if he gets caught out he is dead and he isn’t that aggressive as his bubble is stationary so you can’t go that well with a aggressive team as others can and there is a better Rez legend who can provide just as much protection while being able to fit in any team comp and while they are also big they have ways to get out and can defend them selves better It’s like the a perfect wall with weapons and all but it is a Great Wall it has a death start like weakness and gets outclassed in his own areas despite having great abilities
One thing you forgot to mention about Crypto is his ability to retrieve banners and use respawn beacons to revive his teammates with the drone. During solo queue ranked environments, that passive ability is amazing when you have randoms that want to hot drop every match.
Bro that video was absolutely amazing, such a good detailed description of each legend and weighing their pros and cons. Very informative and blunt. I would recommend this to every new player.
I think your bias saying crypto is boring is what kinda of got me. He's the best he's ever been. With seeing squads on banners, his perks, and placing my drone to cover the whole teams back while we can focus one squad
I like playing with crypto, good positioning is guaranteed but how many times I solo jumped with somebody push for a hot jump, no strategy whatsoever. For these people that kind of character is very much annoying.
@AmiriHipHop but he's not bad, that's the problem at his worst he has always at least been close to the other actual scan legends but after the nerfs to the legends
this might be the best use of his drone i’ve never heard be pointed out until now , a sort of protection against a 3rd party coming from behind in a spot to emp them🤔
Awesome video! As a Rampart main I will say she’s hard to learn but very underrated. Along with shooting evacs, Sheila is perfect for playing aggressive and melting people hiding behind doors too
I appreciate the in-depth tier list and how well thought out and explained your thoughts were. I also felt your placements made more sense than many other tier lists I’ve seen.
Agreed, but keep in mind that his kit has a high skill floor. Due to his hitbox size you have to be very careful and deliberate with ability usage and positioning. But once you learn that, he's absolutely amazing.
@@iownstaticz8687 I disagree. Like HisWattson stated - we shouldn't measure them by how good they are while everything is going well, but by how good they are when everything is going to hell. Not by their best standards, but by their lowest.
@@Papa-Truck-Kunexactly. If you accidentally place Newcastle's ult near a door that ur teammates are trying to get out of, it can become game over if enemies are chasing (not like that's a common thing lol).
@@iownstaticz8687 Right and by this logic, Wattson would be far lower than the vast majority of this cast while Seer, Vantage, Cyrpto, Newcastle and Gibraltar would be higher as a result.
Such a good video! Watched this during my driving shift, I’d love to see more of these. Watched from start to finish. I bet everyone loves your insights just as much as me
Vantage really only needs a few tweaks to make her stronger, most notably with her ultimate. The laser being visible to enemies is one of the largest drawbacks to her kit, second only to her hitbox size for a non-fortified character. The scan the sniper applies to a hit enemy also does not go through walls, though it is visible if the target retreats into smoke. Take away the laser and let the scan go through cover, all the sudden her ultimate is in a really good place.
They'd also have to delete the red laser on Rampart's ult to be fair, but it's not like it would matter since her ult is insanely loud and recognizable.
@@SterlingArthur They should take away the lasers on all ults, it's just stupid. Remove 1 of the tactical upgrade passives, and add in a choice to make her passive mark last longer, and visible through solid objects. I'd also buff her tactical, to allow her to grab onto downed teammates, and use her tactical to get them out of danger. Essentially holding onto them, as she activates her tactical jump.
I really appreciate how unbiased your input is because the general public would think so many of these legends are better than they really are based on how often they are played by high level pro's and streamers. That said, also goes to show that outside of the 1%, you can really just play whoever and still have fun and perform well
i played on realease till season 9. Just installed the game yesterday and this video was perfect. not only a good list about the Legends, even with very helpful tips. beautiful.
@@drewblake6304 by the way wattson is talking he made the part ab fuse a week or two before people caught on the evac ult bug and therefore predicted the upcoming meta lol
I knew about 80% of this, but still entertaining video. Watched it all. I don't have time to watch your streams, but RU-vid videos are much more digestible and are entertaining.
Ash would be so much better if her abilities weren’t so inconsistent. Her ult never feels like it’s where you’re aiming it. & her snare has to be pretty much aimed at an enemies feet for it to work. It should work like Maggie’s drill but it’s not even close to that.
I am an ash main and I like this video. I won’t disagree that she is a low tier but when I play her I feel like I get to focus more on learning how to use weapons and my movements. Great video
As a Maggie main, all of those reasons are so true. I’ve tried to figure it out but it’s a bit hard to test the consistency of the drill because the training ground is made a lot “better” then the older maps. If they made the drill more consistent she would be so much better. Also I find the scans very useful. It’s good at giving you intel on the immediate actions of the player you just shot. A lot of the times I can shoot someone and if they are on height I can tell if they have dropped or where they have gone. It makes life easier when gathering info on the players.
About time someone said Wattson is better than Caustic and Catalyst. Everyone meat rides those two because their abilities sound better on paper, even though their worst case scenarios are far more common, worse, and/or devastating than Wattsons. (Catalyst's getting naded and/or ability spammed, Caustic's getting naded, caught out in the open, and/or ability spammed, and Wattson's is either getting emp pushed or caught out in the open, but its less devastating than Caustic because her small hitbox.) There are way more Fuses and Horizons than Cryptos, which really hurts Caustics and Catalysts ability to hold a spot compared to Wattson. If you have a versatile aggressive legend paired along with Wattson, like Bang, you really don't need the aggressive tools that Caustic and Catalyst can offer as much. Don't get me wrong, a Cat wall and Caustic ult can completely change the outcome of the game and Catalyst and Caustic are by no means bad legends. They are just far less consistent than Wattson because they have higher strengths, but devastating and hard weaknesses that Wattson doesn't share.
What's crazy about Wattson is that her abilities can STACK. Her passive can boost up her ult faster with ult accels, her ult can give her more tac fences, and she literally has 2 abilities built in to give her free shields. Not to mention Caustics' and Catalysts' traps are absolutely useless if other enemies are using that same legend as you are. They can literally run in your trapped building and not get affected or hurt by anything, which is another downside that Wattson thankfully does not share.
at bare minimum passive should not notify the enemy team, tether should not really break for any reason (like why the **** can a horizon just q out and break it at will) and ult should have twice the range it had a month ago + some qol buffs (quicker draw speed after tp, easier time aiming the portal etc). These wouldnt even make her insane, they would just make her feel like a working-as-intended legend
Thanks for great review and reasons behind those. In solo games some tier placement varies as you mentioned. Also in low tier lobbies getting height and good placement plays OP role compared to higher tier lobbies where people can counter and expect smart play.
Thank you for this Tierlist. This is the best Tierlist ever made with very good explanation why the legends are where you put them. Thanks for your time. Don't rate Pathfinder too high, please, I don't want abother nerf to my boy 😂
Like that's a game changing mechanic. Also that kind of pushes the line into "legends played at their best," since this is about how much can go wrong.
Fuse's ulty is bugged as hell. I can't even count the number of times I walked through a spot where there was NO FLAME (due to terrain difference, elevation, and obstacles), and I still got hit by it 😑
Thank you for this video Wattson. My copium levels are at an all time high now, as I've been trying to get the 2k on all characters recently. I only have a couple characters left that I've been struggling with for a long time: Crypto, Gibby, Mirage, Wraith, Octane, and Altar. Glad to know that I can continue coping telling myself that most of these characters are garbage
One of the issues with crypto (as a crypto main) is that when you throw the drone at people during a fight it a lot of times bugs out, the player could be right infront of the drone and not get scanned for wtv reason
the only thing i miss in this video is to actually get from when this list is, because just shortly we received some huge changes and perks got adjusted slightly and sometimes wattsons videos are like a month off so it would be good to add a disclaimer that tells us from around which date this footage is, overall i liked the video, i would have loved if we would have mentioned the huge advantage ballistic has taking a 1v1 as entry fragger in ranked lobbies, cause in close fights taking a 1v1 off drop with ballistic the Q can make a big difference, it doesnt really change the fact that he is underaveraged legend but still good video and explanations.
I main Crypto, and this probably isn’t meta but I find my favorite comp to play with is actually Fuse and Revenant, mostly because Fuse’s ultimate pairs really well with EMP, it forces them to stay still while I land my ultimate on them, and then Revenant can dash in and pick off players while they are helpless. Knuckle cluster does really well to keep enemies in cover if I need to use my ultimate really close to the enemy, so I don’t get picked off from being rushed by the enemy. And Revenant’s ultimate is just highly preoccupying for the enemy, so it gives me time to rush in after using my ultimate. There’s probably better comps to be had, but this is just the one I enjoy most
Something I would like to mention about fuse is that his knuckle cluster is a lot more versatile than you think and even though the damage is not the best it slows and slightly scares enemy’s so if you put it in a spot such as a open doorway nobody will walk through that so it acts like a border, and it can break doors which is very useful if you are pushing someone in a building, you can break the door than spam nades inside
Lol man, bangalore smoke is also an offensive weapon. When enemy is cover behind a rock or in a house, smoke in the enemy face and aggressive push. It work.
As someone who has played mirage a lot recently, he does work best to confuse the enemy in tight areas. Especially with his upgrades he has great spam-ability to keep it going. Sure it isnt as measurable as movement or damage perks but it has its defensive and offensive use, just dont be in the complete open. His tactical also has the added bonus of scouting where shots are coming from mid battle which is good for sniping. And yes his invisibility can be obvious in reviving, its still added cover though. Just dont try stupid clutches with it. Hes well rounded but not great and can help keep a constant defense for your team mates with little down time. Though I get that people would want characters that have more measurable abilities than just "you got bamboozled", even if it is viable if used properly.
I cant play apex cause my ps4 is shitty old and dusty, so i'm gonna buy a ps5 next week and man i'm excited to get back into apex!! Love your content, it's super entertaining and well edited!!
Big dog, did you not hear about the NC buff? His ultimate acts as a one-way watson ultimate, you can google the pach-noates, so see exactly what I mean.
I think this video was pretty long in the making. Seeing how many cinematographic videoclips he used for every legend, it must have taken quite a long time. Also the wall doesnt block gibby and bang ult.
As a rampart main i think she can be somewhere from C and High A tier depending on how you play her, if you pick up a wall while sliding thru it you will get a small boost letting yiu catch enemies off guard and 20% dmg donus from the amp is great, sheila isnt best but it has some great uses, especially if enemies are holding doors and healing letting you just run them over with sheila, she also has great accuracy meaning that you can beam enemies from very far away with little inaccuracy (first few bullets go all over the place but after that all you need to do is pull down)
Side note for Crypto : the current meta favors pairing him with Alter. Your team can avoid a close range EMP using the time you're phased out with her Q.
I love the recent Newcastle buff with the mini wattson shield area denial system it has for his ultimate, if any people who use projectiles like horizon come into meta, he would be good.
Definitely the best Tier list out there! I surprisingly agreed with everything once Wattson explained why he put the legends in the tiers he thought they suited and I’m a Wraith main! Thanks for the content Wattson! W video🔥💯 P.S. I hope the cheater problem gets sorted so we can see you play again!!💜
As much as i love vantage so much, i could not have agreed with you more. I definitely wouldve placed her higher, but it doesnt stop the fact that her abilities are super confusing, they require a lot of skill, and she can easily be pushed in later rings.
Vantage needs to be a long-time, long-range tracker so that it makes proper sense that she is a recon. Her sniper marker should track for, idk 2, minutes or even more; the extra damage is nice but usually not that useful. This way she is clearly different from other recons
The thing is, it doesn't even actually mark enemies afaik, just applies the damage vulnerability. I agree, it would be very nice as an actual tracking ability (heck, her voice lines *really* make it sound like it is), but then the damage multiplier would have to be lessened (though I wouldn't want it removed outright, because that debuff is also something that makes her unique). It's a trade I'd be happy to take! I'm just worried how long the mark should really last. Even 30 seconds could be horrendous to play against; no other ability scans for that long, without having some sort of counterplay. Now imagine having a 15%, 10%, or even 5% damage bonus on all hits you take, while also faced with a team that knows your every move for half a minute? It's a pretty big disadvantage, and aside from keeping your head down, there's little that a marked player could really do. Not very fun to play against. If I'm already spitballing ideas, make the Mark last 10-20 seconds, give 10% extra dmg, and either have it be visible to all allies through walls, or make it so that Vantage's passive now works on the target through walls (meaning she can now ping their precise locations for teammates through walls, along with the extra info on shield and teammate status). Not gonna happen of course, but it's fun to think about :)
None of the nerfs has fundamentally changed his main strength, free information over a wide area by simply pressing a single button. Combined with an ult that gives you a fighting edge with greater strafe speed, he is still a top 3 legend easily.
Hey friend, thanks for sharing your thoughts! I want to share some of my thoughts on legends, that I feel comfortable with. I play Plat/Dia most season long, so thats the average skill-level I come from in my expertise. Ash F -> D: I agree with you that Ash is rather underwhelming. However, I think there is a few things that you have not noted that are of relevance. First, her passive also includes showing dead players on the map. This grants you a LOT of information in every ranked game you will ever play with her. As Ash, you know a lot about where teams are and who is maybe a little lost in their rotation. Information is King in Ranked and Ash provides info consistently. The snare is underwhelming, but it is not half as bad as I think you take it for. Snare - especially Greedy-Snare - is very versitle. You can use to to deny certain areas, create 3v2s or just spam damage in poke-offs. Esp greedy snare can anihilate teams relying on EVAV or ziplines to escape. In a game where seconds matter, just keeping one opponent from helping his mate for 2-3 seconds (more if he heals) makes a difference. The reason why I play Ash as a secondary despite her beeing D-Tier imo is, that she works so damn well with so many other legends, but especially my main Crypto. EMP->Portal is just such a sweet push. But also Knuckle-Cluster knocks, Vantage knocks and just all these hard to capitalize on situations can be punished so well with Ash. Ofc you never warp into the POV of the opponents - you take the roof, or another room. Vantage F is fine: Vantage is so fucking funny to play as. You can hit the beacons, fuck arround with you Sniper and just have a good time. But all you say is true: The fuck is that hitbox and the ULT is comparatively (!) weak. I like her passive ability to see shields and teammembers and her Tactical is good. Thats it, lol. She's good at takinf angles but if you get punished for getting in on opponents, this ist just allways a liability. What I think is worth noting however, is that enemies taking cover after beeing hit is actually a huge plus. Vantage-Ult forces more people into vover than your average Marksman would. Blue players after 1 and purple players after 2 hits are basically out of commission and wont want to help their teammates. Vantage is also very usefull in fending of 3rd parties. Usually you want to loot last after a fight and just take height (wich is easy with Echo) and scare any potential third party away, which is easy with her Ult. So she has things going for her that you didnt mention, but yeah, F is fine imo. If she's D, that's only because she can hit both beacons. Crypto D is fine: I love your take on Crypi! Really tells me that you know him in and out. Crypto is imo pretty overrated in many lists, because people really want his kit to be better than it actually is and noone plays him to know that it's... mid? The info on drone whiel fighting is amazing, but bloodhound scans arent worse and way more consistent. Cryptos EMP is nice and stong if paired with mobility, as you said, but it's not like its SO GOOD you have to play it. The best part of Cryptos kit is arguably sitting in a corner and having the drone up high to just survey the whole area, counting teams, players, even weapons and legends. What's fun about Crypto is how you can remote activate the beacons, which can surprise enemies. You can insta-revive even on mobi's, which comes in clutch especially in late games. You can do all these little things with the drone to distract people. I love Crypto, he's my main, but yeah, if you get his dron down, if you have a tough rotation ahead (that you cant avoid even with his massive information surplus) or if you just stuck in a shitty fight, Crypto does little to you.
