We went to the amateur night back in 2013 and loved every minute of it. An iconic theatre with a rich tapestry of talent that owe their beginnings to this amazing venue.

Febuware It’s Great. I had to watch it back to back the 1st time I saw it was so good. Seriously.

Great job. I’ve watched it 4x already, 1 of those 2x was back to back, I had to watch it again right after it ended because it could have definitely kept going, it could have been 4hr long and still been Great & not enough. Thanks APOLLO!

I had the privilege of working at the apollo throughout the years, it was where I learned how to make a Long Island Iced Tea, when I first got into bartending and met so many strong people during those years. I have always had a connection to the performing arts centers across NYC but the Apollo is such a different environment & this documentary made me appreciate it so much more.

HBO did a pretty good job; I believe it could have been a lot better due to the Apollo’s richness...it should have been a docuseries...
@CSDonohue11
@CSDonohue11 4 года назад
Jessibella 01 I agree length wise I didn’t want it to end. I watched it back to back the 1st times I watched it. It was so Good but a docuseries would have been even more fitting for so much talent over such a lengthy period of time. Just the Wednesday Talent Night @ The APOLLO was worth a couple hours all of the talent that’s been through there, people we don’t even really know today still had great showings @ The APOLLO.

Excellent. Excellent. Made me feel real proud........I was only dissapeared about An entertainer whose name was not honored on the Marque who we also lost......I don't mean any harm. It was the only thing I got emotional about. Besides that. BEAUTIFUL.

The Apollo Theater Walk of Fame includes Michael Jackson. He performed for FREE in 2002. The concert raised about $3 million. It was Jackson's final on-stage performance. I just watched the documentary it and it focused mainly on racial division, disgusting. WTF HBO.

Very disappointed. The Marque honored (and rightfully so) James Brown, Whitney Houston, etc, on the Marque. Where was Michael Jackson's respect? Michael Paid for James Brown's Funeral. James Brown Loved Michael. ......That aside I loved the documentary.........
