My theory is shots on deer should be 40 yards or less. I say this because I saw a video where a fella was stacking arrows with his 415 fps. You could hear the sound and the sound was gone then the arrow struck. Point is crossbows consume bolts strings and targets. Faster shooting ones take bigger a bigger toll on consumables. This side of 30 yards, 300 fps bolt can kill them just as dead as 425 fps.
a crossbow also puts out nearly 2x the energy of a good 70lb draw compound and with a 4x i can keep 4" groups all day long out to 75yds with my xbow if i had to when antelope hunting...try that with a compund!
I know this is an video but some made a comment about the scope being junk. I have one on my barnett crossbow and it is awesome. I target shot it out to 60 yards and i can hit the same spot within an inch from 20 to 60 yards and this past Sunday Nov 5 2023 i killed a nice 8 pt buck at 75 yards and the arrow was dead on the money. Its ok everyone is entitled to their opinion.
Good video brother , as always short ,sweet ,to the point and covers all the bases with a non objective view ! That's exactly why I'm a subscriber and will continue to be ! Again non bias and to the point ! Hard to find these days . Average airgunner
@@Geopoliticstoday2 thanks, i just ordered the bow to replace my old tenpoint, seemed like a good bow for the dough...just couldn't find much info if the nocks on the arrows were removable or not to put on luminated ones. Nobody has the pre-installed ones in stock, but will be available soon through killer instinct. I got 6 arrows with the package, i typically use 3 for target and 3 for hunting...Appreciate the response...I'm anxious to shoot it and see how it is to my other crossbows...
@@jheckert1 I love mine. Its so fast. I had KI350 before that and loved that bow too. Keep checking your forward bolt and drop some lock tight on it. Probably my error but mine came loose after 50+ bolts. I bring my allens with me now. For the money theres no better crossbow imo. Im buying 4 targets next month and working on getting this bad boy out to 2-3-400 yard shots. 😂
@@youfool8152 people said this about the 415 too but mine has lasted years. I think a lot of people buy cheap bolts that are too light and that causes the problems. I always use a heavy bolt (piledriver etc) and never had any issues...
We should have crossbows at 600 with kinetic energy over 220 foot pounds. Crossbow prototypes like this were successfully tested at least two years ago.
@Responsible Forest Ten Point is trying to sell crossbows at 470fps for three grand. More power is not more expensive to produce. They will never see my money until they sell legit 600fps.
Specs say 3.5lb trigger pull yet im sure I saw 4.5lb on the scale and I've seen several 2 different draw weights....200lb and 210lb...Trigger don't mean much but 210lb draw ain't legal where I live so would be nice to know actual draw weight
Why even bring this out? Excalibur is the best and they’re as rugged as they get. For the same price you can get an Excalibur Axe 340 for $599-699 depending on camo pattern. So what if it’s 90fps slower? You get a bow that will never break and if it does you can fix the problems yourself. If you have a problem with the KI then you’d have to take it to a pro shop to get the problems fixed whereas the only problem with an Excalibur is that they don’t use cams which is better in my honest opinion. I have the Bulldog 440 and I paid $1399 but that bow shoots 450FPS chronoed. For half of that you get a “no none sense” bow and you can fix everything g yourself. If you snap a string then just make sure you have one in your bag and you’ll be able to restring it on the go and your hunts not over. With the compound bows you’re screwed. 340FPS is no slouch and it’s more than enough to kill a deer, bear or whatever else you’re shooting at. It just does a much better job!
Look at the warranty you get with killer instinct. It is a true Lifetime warranty, as long as you register your crossbow within 30 days of purchase it will be covered for life, once every 3 years you bring it into an authorized dealer and the go over everything make sure everything is like it was when. It left the factory.

Only thing good about that crossbow is the scope the rest of it is junk you can pick any made Barnett crossbow and it is made a lot better than that one and it's got a better trigger because they've got the trigger Tech
