It's a tiny plot. Just 62m². But I'm proud of what I've achieved in a few short months. This time last year the whole area was knee high in grass and weeds.
I've seen that the black fly can ruin new pods of broad beans, saw the vid from another UK allotmenter. Your plot looks great :) Greetings from Canada.
Yes, the black fly problem has got out of hand now actually. I picked a load today from lower down which are ok but at the top of the plants all the small pods are covered. I did remove the tops a few week ago but that hasn't helped really.
@@matchynishi Not sure. Apparently permethrin is a synthetic version of pyrethrin but it has been withdrawn from sale. Couldn't see any pyrethrin in a google search. I'll probably just leave them anyway. Will do one more pick then cut the plants down.
My peas look like yours, they have a few flowers on and theres 7 pods so im going to leave them but put some netting over as another plot owner thinks its birds, time will tell
