Personally as an x30 pro driver myself(15 years old) I’m not looking for the prize money. I moved up to this category for the most competition and better racing. Most of the young drivers want more track time because karting to us is a gateway into higher level motor sports. I don’t think our entry fee should be lowered but I wish we had more track time to develop into better drivers especially when you already have less experience.

Sr Karting is supremely competitive - 8 of the top 10 drivers (in most races) are Factory Drivers. Incredible to watch.

If that's the case should the Pro category have a high $$$ entry fee? They are paying to be the entertainer? Why should they pay the big money to entertain. If you are paying the entry fee then you get the laps. JMO

good points, i think the "pro" classes still need to give a lot of consideration to the guys who have to pay to be there. it can't exist without us, because the field size would be absolutely tiny. there's just not really a way to have a full field of "pro" drivers until we have the entertainment value that supercross does. uspks entry fees are STEEP lately, and i agree you should get maximum track time, especially when you pay that much. maybe there's a different argument for the few guys that win the money/tires/entries for a year, but the other 20-30 people deserve to at least get laps

Except that the “Pro” categories have higher entry fees and the potential payouts don’t come close to covering the cost of a weekend. Just because there’s a measly purse, it doesn’t mean the competitors are “professionals”. Now if all the drivers were getting paid to compete, then you have an argument but right now the shifter and X30 senior classes are like all others except for the small payout for making the podium.

In the case of the SKUSA Pro Tour -- the entire Top 10 in the championship have a pretty substantial payday. Free entry and tires for the following season, and $1,000 all the way up to $10,000. So it's more than just the podium. But also, in motorsport, all the way to the top, there are plenty of drivers who still pay to play. You don't hear Lance Stroll whining about a lack of track time in F1. 'Pro' in racing is more about racing the absolute best drivers on the biggest stage and spotlight. Between us, the series, the championship payout, and the heightened purse payout, all for $50 higher entry fees at the sacrafice of about 2 sessions on a weekend, is a pretty fair trade in my opinion. - Xander

The push has been for KZ and X30 Senior to be the top of the pyramids in gearbox and single speed at nationals. OKN Senior is used in place of X30 Senior at STARS Events.
