One of the sneakiest things Lucifer ever did, was divide believers with denominations. Denominations are of man, not God. We are told plain as day by God, to be of one mind.

Yup!!! You got it right brother. Jesus is NOT looking for a denomination, His concern is that we are “one body and one spirit with HIM”, and are led by The Holy Spirit. We have definitely allowed satan to complicate things, we’re focusing on religion and traditions more than we’re looking to Jesus Himself.

If you really believed God’s word you would 1. First understand that it was the Catholic Church who compiled it. And 2. One of the Bible verses that prove Mary should be venerated is this one from Luke 1:41-42 ‘ When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was FILLED with the HOLY SPIRIT. In a loud voice she exclaimed: “BLESSED are you among women, and BLESSED is the child you will bear!” ‘ The Holy Spirit who filled Elizabeth, and the Holy Spirit who is God and God who is Jesus, described Mary and Jesus WITH the same WORD = BLESSED. If you can’t believe it, then you really don’t believe the Bible or Jesus.

@@Thebiggdillthat’s a little unfair. Not all denominations are evil like you say. Most are just a way to separate specific, and most of the time secondary non salvific beliefs. However, and this is a big however, the Roman Catholic Church is one of those denominations. Not only are they unbiblical, heretical, and in some cases outright blasphemous, but the history of their beginnings have little to do with Jesus. For the first 300 years the Roman’s outright banned Christianity and Christian’s were persecuted mercilessly. Along comes emperor Constantine who was ruling at a time when the Roman Empire was falling apart so he lifted the ban on Christianity and attempted to unify Christians and the Roman Empire by calling the counsel of nicea. Instead, Constantine refused to fully embrace the faith and continued practicing Roman pagan beliefs. The RCC from the start was a toxic mix of Christian and pagan beliefs. The literal presence of Christ in the Eucharist that OP felt so much love for (no offense) is completely unbiblical but was a very popular practice among Roman pagans called theophagy “eating of your god” and was commonly practiced long before Rome’s conversion. Each saint has a different attribute you pray for a particular blessing like saint Beretta for fertility. Nowhere is this taught in scripture but the Roman pantheon of gods was identical. In fact, they kept all of their statues in their temples and just renamed them after the apostles and other saints. The RCC declared itself the “vicar of Christ” and eventually when the Roman Empire collapsed, the popes took on the same title as the Roman emperor “Pontifex Maximus”. I could go on and on but you get the point. Of course Catholics deny this. They hide their pagan practices under convoluted and unbiblical theology. For this reason they are forced to deny the sufficiency of scripture.

The Saddest part of Catholicism is that the Bible is not the ultimate determination of truth. Its a combination of tradition, Bible and the Vatican (pope) Ultimately the religious aspect Jesus was completely against it. We are not qualified to interpret the bible according to the Catholic Church. The biggest thing is that the Catholic church IS organized and globally. You really don't have to do much work in figuring out what is the "right" thing to do as they pretty much have it covered. How to pray, how to worship how to do good deeds etc and the Catholic church gets to say if you're a good Christian or not. Except God never said that people show follow and obey an organization.
@anllyquintero3690
@anllyquintero3690 Месяц назад
Jesus wasn't against tradition, neither the apostles. In fact, the passing of the Christian message during the first decades were all through oral tradition since the Gospels weren't written yet. The main source of truth for the Catholic Church is undoubtedly Scripture, but as you point out we also have Tradition and the Magisterium . You may ask why isn't Scripture the only source? Because Jesus told the apostles that he didn't have time to tell them everything but the Holy Spirit will teach them everything (John 14:26). The action of the Holy Spirit in the Church is shown through the right interpretation of Scripture, but also through Tradition and the Magisterium. I suggest you to read about the first council the Church had, the council of Jerusalem where the apostles got together to decide whether circumcision should be a requirement for the new members of the Church (Act 15). Was it recorded in the Gospels that Jesus say to them that he didn't want people in His Church to be circumcised? No! In fact, he was circumcised. So how did the apostles had the authority to decide and made the right decision? Though the Holy Spirit. John was pretty clear that the Gospels didn't record everything Jesus did (John 21:25), also Paul said to the communities to follow the Traditions (1 Corinthians 11:2). Nowhere does Scripture says it is the only source of truth, that's why the other sources are also very important. Protestantism rejecting Traditions is what has caused so much division, you all can't agree with one another and that's why we have so many versions of the "Truth" when there should be only one. All because you're ignoring the teachings the Apostles passed down to their disciples such as the Church Fathers, and so much stuff. I usually don't reply to this kind of comments, but I have a profound love and respect for the Church. I would just invite you to do a more profound and unbiased background check on the Catholic Church: Where are our true roots? Why have we lasted so long? What is the true meaning of Tradition? Anyway, my words are just words, whether you believe them or maybe get a little motivation to investigate this faith falls in the power of the Holy Spirit m God bless you brother/sister in Christ! Edit: also, sorry if you find anything with the wrong spelling or grammar, my mother tongue is not English

Yeah you’re right that’s why Protestants are divided on so much because the Holy Spirit is telling everyone something different? The fact that the Eucharist was never called just a symbol or memorial for the first 1500 or so years? I’m in the process of conversion because I can’t lie to myself on this stuff anymore. I encourage you to do the same. The bible itself says no scripture is up for private interpretation and that’s all Protestants have ever done. I’m done with being confused.

The thing with Catholicism is the reverence they have towards Mary, as if she’s a deity that Jesus has given authority to be a mediator. Mary was a human being, just like we are today, yes by the Power of God she birthed Jesus without a man; it wasn’t because she “chose” to do it out of her own glory and capability. Mary didn’t die a virgin, therefore she’s not a virgin anymore, she WAS a virgin “but” everyyyy one who came (and will come) to this earth also came (and will come) as a virgin, it’s not a peculiar asset to Mary alone. After Jesus, she had s3x with her husband Joseph, and had other children. And throughout the ENTIIIIIIRE Holy Bible, Jesus didn’t give us any instructions to address Mary as a medium between us in God, therefore to do so it’s called “necromancy” on the basis of “IDOLATRY.” When Jesus taught the disciples how to pray, Jesus taught them “Our Heavenly Father……..(you know the rest), Jesus didn’t refer to Mary as anything more special than we are, Jesus didn’t teach us “Hail Mary” prayer, we “chose” to do it. We gave her that pedestal, and out of that tradition and religiosity satan has found a loophole to divide the church and we fall for it, this is what idolatry is about; we tell Jesus His Word and instructions that He CLEARLY left us are not enough and thus adding our tradition makes more sense. It’s ignorance, and it’s also unrighteousness because we’re “choosing” to do what makes sense to us. What people are calling “Mother Mary” today has no idea that they’re referencing one of the most wicked principality….that was “always” satan’s plan, to DECEIVE us, resulting in division and distraction. The beautiful thing about all of this is that, Jesus will have the last say so. And the worst part of allllll this is that Mary herself wasn’t a “Roman Catholic” 😞 (we’re sooo gullible), and she didn’t even d!e as one.

They probably thought you were a troll. But anyhoo: NO SACRAFICE, NO WORSHIP. Jews gave their animals and crops to God as a burnt offering as per the Bible. Aztecs sacraficed to the sun god (demon) and Ba'al demands sacrafice too (false idols). Catholics do communion in rememberance of Jesus every Sunday. Worship IS NOT singing and reading a verse or three on Sunday. NO SACRAFICE, NO WORSHIP.

Catholics say Orthodox are saved and they agree the orthodox eucharist is the true body and blood of Christ while the Orthodox don't believe that about the Catholic eucharist (which is true they have lost the meaning of eucharist along the way)

It isn't. The emotional appeal of being connected to God thru a ritual has appeal to some. All the catholic talking points come after the fact. I find many catholic converts are drawn in by the pageantry of the catholic church, its aesthetics and beauty, smells and bells, etc. It is like appreciating art than it is pure cold logic.

Jesus tore the vail, nothing in between you having a relationship with the trinity now. A church is a body of believers not the way to God. Jesus is the way. Succession to papacy isnt a biblical framework ("royal priesthood" of all saints, for example) and neither is transubstantiation. That's interesting to me because those arguments I have heard as well and they are the reason I reject Catholicism. Please please please read that correctly, I am not rejectings Catholics, I reject Catholicism. The argument for the Eucharist relies souly on a literal reading if a metaphorical passage, the argument for the Papacy is a question begging argument where they assume they are right in spite of no evidence and tell you there is evidence because they are right, it is completely illogical, and the chain of Apostolic Authority does not exist. When you read in the book of Acts the apostles sought to fill the role that was left by Judas Iscariot, they had a criteria for who qualified for the position. They had to have been present at the baptism of Jesus, had to be with Him in His ministry, and had to have been a witness of His death, burial, and resurrection. NO ONE qualifies for that position beyond the 14 individuals in the book of Acts and those 14 are the original 11 desciples called by Jesus, the Apostle Paul, and the two men brought forward, Barsabbas and Matthias. Out of 120 individuals who were following Christ with faith, only two were found qualified to be Apostles. And only Matthias was recognized as Apostle. Those were the only 14 individuals who were ever given recognition as potential Apostles and only 13 of them actually were Apostles. There is no chain of authoirty, when the 13 Apostles died, so did their authority, it was not and could not have been passed on to anyone. All that remained is what they left behind in their writings. To this date, the only teaching I find somewhat convincing of Catholicism is salvation as a result of Baptism and even that one is extremely weak in my eyes. Scripture simply does not allow for Catholicism to be true.

I will point you verses that will confirm to you Eucharist is True, how do you call Jesus a liar? Let's begin John Chapter 6. 48 I am the bread of life. 49 Your ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. 50 This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die.51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats of this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh." 52 The Jews then disputed among themselves, saying, "How can this man give us his flesh to eat?" 53 So Jesus said to them, "Very truly, I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54 Those who eat my flesh and drink my blood have eternal life, and I will raise them up on the last day; 55 for my flesh is true food and my blood is true drink. Notice in verse 52 when the Jews try to question what Jesus was explaining about giving his flesh to eat Jesus doubles down and a lot of his disciples leave him, and Jesus doesn't stop them from leaving because he meant what he said. But to understand Jesus meant this literal, notice Jesus spoke about the Jews ancestors eating the manna in the wilderness and they died. Let's established what the manna is when you look up John Chapter 6 31 Our ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written, 'He gave them bread from heaven to eat.'" 49 Your ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. If you look at psalms 78 25 Mortals ate of the bread of angels; he sent them food in abundance. Notice The manna is bread from heaven and anything that rains down from heaven from God is definitely a miracle it's even described in psalms as the bread of the Angels this is just not regular bread made by man in the bakery. Now also note this Manna that is a miracle that comes from heaven Jesus Describes it as "Your ancestors ate this bread at the wilderness and died" but in John 6 51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats of this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh." Notice The manna and the bread that Jesus Gives both comes from heaven but one the jews are and died, but the one Jesus gives if you eat it, you will live forever and he literally says that it's his flesh, notice also this is just not lateral bread from the bakery it's Jesus flesh from heaven, because it's a Miracle. In these verses Jesus shows us The Eucharist is greater is greater than the Manna in the wilderness which is bread directly from heaven. So if you take the Eucharist as a symbol then you are definitely acknowledging that the manna is greater than the Eucharist even though the Jews are it and died and the Eucharist you eat it and live forever. So for this passage to make sense the Eucharist is the True body of Jesus and if it's a symbol it's not greater than the Manna and it can't save you to live forever because it doesn't come from heaven. However the Body blood sole and divinity of Jesus hidden in the appearance of wine and bread is a Miracle that happens every Sunday at mass and anyone who eats and drinks of it will live forever because his body, blood divinity saves. I hope this clears your doubts on the Eucharist.

@@moengalex6526 thankyou so much for your well studied and thought out response. I appreciate the time you put into it! I'm sorry but no, it does not clear any doubt because you did exactly what I said happens. This is the only passage, I repeat, THE ONLY passage Catholics use to defend the Eucharist and it is beyond flimsy. In this passage Jesus calls Himself, "The door". Do we then say Jesus is a plank of wood with hinges? Of course not! We understand the metaphorical intent of His words. John 6 is metaphor after metaphor after metaphor. And the verses you quoted do not change that. Jesus is using metaphoric language, not literal. As you yourself pointed out, very eloquently and beautifully I might add, that Jesus referenced back to manna, which was bread from heaven. Even though they ate bread that was a miracle from God, they still died. That is Jesus's whole crux here. Eating bread is not enough. Even if it is bread made from angels, brought from heaven, gifted and blessed from God, it is still not enough. We need something beyond the eating of bread. You pointed this out so beautifully and I thankyou for that. Where we depart though is on the application. Continuing in Jesus's teaching He said John 6:51 ESV [51] I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.” You quoted this verse as well so please be patient with me as I draw out what I see in it. Who did Jesus say this bread would be given for? Believers? Jews? Gentiles? No. He gave it to, "The world". This absolutely flies against the Eucharist by my understanding because even if I profess Christ and follow the Bible, if I go to a Catholic church, they will not permit me to take part of the Eucharist until they have made certain that I accept Catholicism. By doing this, what Jesus intended to be for the world the Catholic church then revoked and limited it to only those within their recognized and approved group. But now looking at the passage as a whole, everything falls perfectly in line if we take it metaphorically. What was the bread that Jesus gives? His flesh. How did He give it? By dying on the cross to pay the death that God's justice demands for sin. What did this accomplish? 2 Corinthians 5:19 ESV [19] that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Notice the same language? Through Christ God brought reconciliation to who? The world. How? Through Christ's death. And what did Jesus say His death would bring in John 6? Life to the world. It is one message from start to finish but this gets absolutely dismantled if we take a literal reading. You said Jesus would be a liar if we don't take a literal meaning, respectfully I disagree (shocker ;) ). Neither view makes Jesus a liar. The metaphoric view takes His words to have a meaning beyond canablism, and the literal view takes the words at face value. This is not a question that can be answered through morality, like saying one makes Jesus a liar, but the answer can only be granted when we seek to answer the question, "How does the rest of the New Testament treat Christ's body as the bread?" And even in the upper room, when Jesus gave bread He said, "This is my body which is broken for you." Jesus didn't cut off a slab of His skin to give to His apostles, the bread was a symbol of Christ body. And what happened to Christ shortly after this? His crucifixion. It all points straight at the cross where He was offered up as the propitiation for sins.

@@moengalex6526 I think you miss my point though. And I appreciate that you truly wish for me to come to believe what you perceive as true. Regardless of what the outcome of this conversation, your love for a fellow human can not be questioned and does not go unnoticed. Now maybe I wasn't clear, I do not place any value of salvation on the Eucharist. I do not find the power in it that you claim. Why? Because it is all metaphoric to Jesus dying on the cross and us placing our faith in His finished work. Yes it is true, if we do not eat of His flesh or drink of His blood there is no life, but what is the application of that? You presume it is the Eucharist, I do not agree. I believe it is the pillar of faith. By placing your faith in Christ you are partaking in His death, burial, and resurrection. This is supported in the Epistles as well as the Gospels. What I am saying is there is nothing in the Eucharist with the power to save because John 6 has nothing to do with the Eucharist or Communion but everything to do with a person placing their faith in the work of Jesus Christ on the cross. That is the meaning of John 6. I can support that with the other three Gospels, Romans, Corinthians, Hebrews, James, 1 John and really every book in the Bible. Also I do not place the manna in the wilderness as more important than Communion. I am saying the two are incomparable, which is what Jesus was saying. We need something more than manna, not something comparable to it. This is why I reject the teachings of the Eucharist, and really Catholicsm. In order to get the Eucharist, you have to start with the premise of the Eucharist, read that onto the text of John 6 to try and act like Jesus was talking about the Eucharist when He wasnt, and take a literal interpretation of a metaphorical passage. Nothing adds up, I see no support at all in the Bible for the teaching of the Eucharist.

The one “catholic” church is the sainthood of all believers, not people who are confirmed in the RCC. There’s no other name (or institution) by which we can be saved, save for the name of the Son of God - Christ Jesus. HE alone is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one goes to the Father except through Him. No institution, priest, denomination, or even correct doctrine saves a person. A person of course must have correct doctrine, but it’s the Person of Jesus Christ who saves and He will sanctify us by the work of the Holy Spirit indwelling believers. We must cling to Jesus, who came to take away the sins of the World. I’m declaring what the Word of God itself says. The path is narrow that leads to salvation and the gate wide that leads to destruction. We cannot work our way into the kingdom of God. We must simply trust in Him, through His Son and the sufficiency of His work on the cross, and out of our love and gratefulness to Him, seek to live for God. Cling to Christ Jesus!

@@littleone1656You’re misunderstanding my use of the term “catholic.” The term means “universal.” My point was that the Church, as in the Body of believers at large is not contained in the RCC. The RCC is not the way of salvation; Jesus Christ is. I believe there are genuine followers of Christ in the RCC, just as there are genuine followers in the Orthodox and Protestant denominations. But being a “member” of any of these denominations isn’t what saves a person. It is trusting in Christ a Jesus (and consequently obeying/following Him - because if you trust and love Him, you will follow Him). Some passages - Jesus said, “If you love me, you will obey me.” (John 14:15) He who confesses with his mouth that Jesus is Lord and believes in his heart that God raised him from the dead will be saved. Why I'm not a catholic: Jesus says call no man father (Matthew 23:9), Mary had other children and she was not God's mother, Queen of Heaven is eerily similar to what catholics call "the virgin Mary", pope basically means "papa" and Peter definitely had a wife, catholicism forbids a pope to marry, lent teaches to abstain from meat (doctrines of men), catholics changed the 10 commandments to purposely elevate the pope, universal church is literally what the antichrist is going to set up. Rev. 17 and 18 is specific to Rome, which is where catholicism came from. Transubstantiation is not a thing. Cannibalism is strictly forbidden and we are not to drink blood. The dead don't send prayers to God on your behalf, Jesus is our only mediator. Vain repetitions don't impress God. And looking at my savior dead on the cross is not a "good reminder" as some say. My savior, the Lord Jesus Christ is alive! He is not a statue (graven image). “that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭9‬ ‭

The Catechism of the Catholic Church gives us the most important reasons why we must baptize infants: Born with a fallen human nature and tainted by original sin, children also have need of the new birth in baptism to be freed from the power of darkness and brought into the realm of the freedom of the children of God, to which all men are called. The sheer gratuitousness of the grace of salvation is particularly manifest in infant baptism. The Church and the parents would deny a child the priceless grace of becoming a child of God were they not to confer baptism shortly after birth (CCC 1250). Original sin is a reality from which each and every human person desperately needs to be freed. Biblically speaking, Romans 5:12 is remarkably clear on this point: Therefore as sin came into the world through one man and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all men sinned. Even if nothing else was said in Scripture implying infant baptism, we could conclude it to be necessary just from this simple fact: babies need to have original sin removed from their souls. But there is more. St. Paul, being a Jew, as well as all of the apostles, understood the idea that true religion is a family affair. A Jew became a Jew when he was circumcised on the eighth day after his birth. They did not have to first “accept Moses as their personal prophet” before they could be circumcised. And according to Paul, baptism is the fulfillment of circumcision: In him also you were circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of flesh in the circumcision of Christ. . . . You were buried with him in baptism (Col. 2:11-12). The Revised Standard Version, Catholic Edition, which I quoted above, has the word “and” placed between “Christ” and “you were buried.” I left it out because it is not in the original Greek text. The Greek indicates that baptism is the circumcision of Christ! This seems trivial to us today. Okay, so baptism is the “circumcision of Christ.” But this was not trivial to first-century Jewish Christians who were being challenged to circumcise their children “after the manner of Moses or else they could not be saved” (see Acts 15:1-2). Many were being persecuted because they chose infant baptism instead of infant circumcision. As Paul says in Romans 2:28: For he is not a real Jew who is one outwardly, nor is true circumcision something external and physical. He is a Jew who is one inwardly, and real circumcision is a matter of the heart, spiritual and not literal. What is this “spiritual circumcision” of which Paul speaks? Baptism, according to Colossians 2:11-12. Not the shedding of foreskin, but the transformation of the inward man through the sacrament. As a fulfillment of that which is only a type, baptism does something circumcision could never do: “baptism now saves” us (1 Pet. 3:21). The change that occurs is not physical; it is spiritual. As it is often said, what you don’t see is what you get in all of the sacraments, baptism included-and infant baptism included, too. Elsewhere in Scripture we find a close association between baptism and circumcision. In Galatians 3:27-28, Paul says: For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Paul’s point is that baptism is more inclusive than its Old Testament antecedent. You had to be a free, male Jew to be circumcised. And when were males generally circumcised in the Old Testament, by the way? At eight days after birth (Gen. 17:12). Paul’s point is that in the New Testament, baptism is open to all. Of course babies would be included. This idea of baptism as the circumcision of Christ, therefore opening up the legitimacy of infant baptism, is at least implied in other biblical texts as well. You’ll recall that on Pentecost, Peter preached to thousands of Jews, who already had an understanding of their faith involving a family covenant, and said, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. . . . For the promise is to you and to your children and to all that are far off, everyone whom the Lord calls to him” (Acts 2:38-39). If Peter believed that baptism is exclusive to adults, he was a terrible teacher! The Lord explicitly “called infants” to himself in Luke 18:15-17: Now they were bringing even infants to him that he might touch them; and when the disciple saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them to him, saying, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” These were not just children who were being brought to Jesus. The Greek word here is brephe, which mean “infants.” And again, the Jews listening would understand that the parent’s belief and obedience suffices for the child until he is old enough to own his faith. The parents bringing children to Christ, according to Christ, is equivalent to the children coming to him on their own. Moreover, because babies are icons of what we all should be-that is, they put up no obstacles to the work of God in their lives, and they can most obviously do absolutely nothing to merit anything from God-infant baptism makes sense, as they are reminders of “the sheer gratuitousness of the grace of salvation” (CCC 1250). From the very beginning, whole “households” received baptism. There is no reason to believe that infants would not have been included (see Acts 11:14; 16:15, 33; 18:8; 1 Cor. 1:16). For brevity’s sake, I will use just one of the five examples cited in that parenthesis. I encourage all reading this to take a look at the other four examples as well. When Paul led the Philippian jailer to Christ in Acts 16, he said to him, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household” (Acts 16:31). He does not say that all in his household must first believe. He simply says they will all be saved. How could he say that? Paul seems to have understood what St. Peter had already preached back when Paul was still persecuting Christians (in Acts 2:38). The promise of faith and baptism is for the jailer and his children.

Jesus said, “He that believes and is baptized shall be saved” in Mark 16:16. Many claim this to mean that faith must precede baptism. And this would seem to exclude infants as possible candidates for baptism. Seems airtight. Can an infant possess faith? No. Therefore, a baby cannot be licitly baptized. Although this argument may sound convincing on the surface, it does not survive serious scrutiny. First, Jesus did not say faith must precede baptism for an individual. He simply said one has to believe and be baptized in order to be saved. He said nothing about the two having to be accomplished in that order for the individual. Moreover, even if we were to accept as fact that faith must come first, even though Mark 16:16 does not say that, this would not exclude the possibility that the faith of the parents suffices until the child reaches the age of accountability. Second, a strict reading of Mark 16:16 has devastating consequences. A baby cannot believe. Does that mean that all babies who die without believing will not be saved? Of course not! The thief on the cross was presumably not baptized. Does that mean he would not go to heaven? Of course not! Belief and baptism are necessary to those who have the opportunity to obtain them. If they were to be impeded from being able to believe or be baptized, and that could be the case for many different reasons, then God would judge them in accordance with what they were responsible for. This last point gets to another reason why infant baptism is so important. Sometimes we are accountable not just for ourselves, but for others as well (see Ezek. 3:18-19). Parents are responsible for baptizing their babies. If they knowingly do not do so, they break God’s covenant in a serious matter. Like the paralytic in Matthew 9:2-6 who was completely dependent upon others to bring him to Christ in order for him to get his sins forgiven (and his physical healing), a baby is completely dependent upon his parents to bring him to Christ. And notice as well that it was the faith of those who brought the paralytic to Christ that God used instrumentally for the paralytic’s salvation: “When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, ‘Take heart, my son; your sins are forgiven’” (v. 2). Whose faith did Jesus “see” here? “Their” seems to refer back to the “they” of the same verse: “And behold, they brought to him a paralytic . . .” The faith of the parents suffices when they bring their infant to be blessed by Christ via “the circumcision of Christ.” Paul clearly teaches that circumcision never justified anyone, at least in the sense of the initial gift of justification. “We say that faith was reckoned to Abraham . . . before he was circumcised” (Rom. 4:9-10). So doesn’t this prove that baptism does not save us, either? Three points: First, as I said above, baptism is the fulfillment of that which was only a type in the Old Testament. The fulfillment is always more glorious than the type. Thus, “baptism does now save you” (1 Pet. 3:21) in a way that circumcision could not. Second, it is true that Abraham and David were Paul’s two examples of justifying grace occurring apart from circumcision in Romans 4. And yet, Abraham instituted circumcision by divine mandate, and David was, in fact, circumcised as a little baby. Indeed, God also declared in the Old Testament that “any uncircumcised male who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin shall be cut off from his people; he has broken my covenant” (Gen. 17:14). It is not a contradiction to say both faith and circumcision were necessary to remain within God’s covenant in the Old Testament, even though circumcision played no role in initial justification. Third, the faith of the parents sufficed when it came to circumcising a child. Do we not see that principle in the New Testament as well? Jesus saw the faith of the friends of the paralytic and healed the paralytic in Matthew 9:2. When people cannot have faith, the faith of family or friends suffices. So it is with infant baptism. The faith of the parents sanctifies the children, as Paul says in 1 Cor. 7:14. This is just as much a New Testament concept as it is an Old Testament concept.

Where in Jewish followers of Jesus, 120 Jewish Bishops, were told they can’t be Jewish and follow Jesus. Although Jesus never forfeited His Jewishness. The counsel of Nicea was lead by the growing Catholic denomination. Jesus is our High Priest for which there is no need for a papacy and I find it odd that no Catholic challenges the changing of the 10 commandments either. We aren’t to alter the Word of God. The Catholic Church was indeed the first Church. However the doctrine of the Catholic Church has expanded, which created the other denominations. The Scripture doesn’t mention Mary being sinless or Baptisms being appropriate for unsaved individuals like infants etc. The Eucharist is more debatable in my opinion, it's a matter of interpretation, and I honestly don't know the intentions behind scripture - whether it's literal or figurative. But adding all those things to doctrine that aren't actially in the Bible, is what made people leave the Catholic Chirch and start new denominations. So yes, the Catholic Church was first, but that doesn't make them impervious to sin and manipulation from the devil. They are no better or worse than any other denomination, and should be judged as individuals in their own walks with Christ, just as the rest of us should be.
@jmanuel722

All that you mentioned is either in the Bible or doesn’t contradict it. That’s not what made people leave the Church. The Protestant revolt was not a good thing and not what the monk actually intended. Who the heck mentioned being impervious to sin or manipulation from the devil?? Why do you think the Catholic Church is the most persecuted and hated Church? Do satanists go to your church to steal your symbolic communion to perform black masses, no. Matthew 16 must be understood in light of Matthew 18. “Whatever is loosed and bound” is done based on the foundation of the confession of Peter (rock is feminine, signifying that it is related to the confession, not Peter himself). Peter is the rock on which Church is built upon - Jesus is the Head - Peter owns the keys, whatever he and his successors lock is locked in Heaven, whatever they open is opened in Heaven, Peter was commanded specifically by the Lord to feed His sheep.
