GREAT video and camera work. I'm new to the rc world and thinking about upgrading my motor, too. I was looking at this setup, I have Kraton... hoping I will keep temps low like yours. Keep posting!!!
I’m thinking to swap in my motor and esc from a Kronos i have into my Notorious. I know the systems are similar but I think the Kronos has a better esc and motor that delivers a lot of power on 6s. This is a cool swap you did I do like Castle stuff. People forget about castle sometimes because of HW which are great also though.
Hey G what were your diff weights here I know now what to look for and clearly saw what wasn’t happening like diff’N out your weights are spot on and what a session this was I thought you said take it easy 😎😂😂
Hey! I'm actually still running the stock diff fluid weights. I've thought about going thicker in the center diff, but the 10K/100K/10K setup has felt good. 😄👍
Yes, it came with a full set of instructions. The Castle Link adapter allows you to hook your ESC up to the Castle Link software on a computer and change a variety of settings. Drag brake, throttle/brake curve, and other settings like motor direction can be adjusted. 👍
Very nice upgrade dude, the truck sounds a lot smoother. Just curious, did you gear down to compensate for the higher kv motor? Even if you didn’t you’d be fine with that nice fan setup.👍
Thanks! It’s buttery smooth now.👌 I left the gearing stock actually. The motor temps seem to hang around 130 degrees Fahrenheit, which is about the same as the stock 2050kv. 👍
Nice flippin action🤘 I have a granite I've converted into a 4s outcast (blx120 esc with surpass hobby 3670 2850kv motor) I'm contemplating grabbing the mamba x esc. How has it performed for you since this installation?
@@LVC_RC kickass man thanks. Yeah it's a pretty rad little machine, just threw some kraton exb shocks on it with mx28's, 18t pinion on hot racing motor mount 😈its evil for a 4s rig
Hey man so i just got a mamba monster two but it's from an xo-1 so it has the big extra cap pack soldered into it so it's almost double the length of normal mamba monster 2 any idea how i can mount it? Thanks
The esc was unusable, so I trashed it. The motor is actually already on its way to a new home. 👍 I use BRP double sided tape, it has worked very well for me. I get ya, double sided tape can get frustrating!👌😎 Thanks for watching!
I'm going to order the same exact set up for my notorious 6s v4... How much of a difference did it make over stock system??? Do I need anything else to run this set up???
Nice! This system is much smoother and more adjustable than the stock combo. Seems to have a little more power too. You shouldn’t need anything else, just a plug to solder on the esc.
Brock Diesel You’ll need the Castle Link programming kit if you’d like to make adjustments to the esc’s settings. Castle ESCs usually come with a code that you can enter on their website to receive a free Castle Link. I don’t believe that code includes a USB to Micro USB adapter, so you’d probably have to purchase that separately if you don’t already have one.
@@LVC_RC ok naw I don't own one so I will add one to order... Thanks you so much for your help brother I'll be posting it on my channel when it comes in as well as install.... New sub here 🍻 bash on bro 💪💯
With two cooling fans and a heat sink, it stays very cool. I'm sure this system would do even better in the Typhon since that vehicle has smaller tires. 👌
I don't think it's that much faster. Also it depends on gear ratios. This upgrade is mostly for more control over the vehicle and smoother acceleration and a lot more adjustability. But a Max 8 combo would've been just fine for a lot less money if he really just wanted to solve the issues he had 😉
@@Bro_wdf_you_doing a max 8 isn't less money. The BLX185 is a downgraded Hobbywing quiqrun 150a (with less adjustability). You can get a BLX185 for 60$ if you're wanting to buy from a chop shop. But the max 8 is better. EDIT: oh you were referring to the mamba, whoops. Yeah the mamba is a lot more expensive, but probably also better. Depends on how much money you want to spend. Regarding the motors, I don't really know much about them but I don't think there is much of a difference. Keep in mind the mamba monster is sensored, the max 8 isn't.
