I find the lack of patience for news incredibly irritating and annoying - transfers are complicated things - but to be rude to a journalist doing their job is totally unacceptable. Their job is to report what they are told, whether people like it or not. It is not their job to simply report what people want to be told.
Just know that we here in the TGT family truly appreciate the work you do Tom. The unrelenting 8am shows (on holiday or not), the values you echo through the community whilst reporting news and events. You’re a gem in this goonersphere and should be recognised as such mate.
I’m pretty relaxed about the Merino situation. I know we’re all eager to hear something, but sometimes it’s what you’re not hearing that’s just as important; in this case I’m not hearing anything about rival offers or other clubs trying to hijack the move, despite there being several interested parties and the player being available at a very affordable price. As with Calafiori, that can be an indicator that everyone else regards it as a done deal and don’t want to waste their time.
I agree that no one should attack journalists. The part I want to better understand is the term “click” being offensive. I thought all journalists are looking to get their articles read. That is the goal of a headline. One tries to get the “click”. Is it specifically the term “click bait” that makes it offensive?
In regards to Merino... All Fabrizio has said is a verbal agreement is close to being done. This matches what you're saying about no official bid being placed. The issue is people not actually taking time to properly read through what has been shared by the likes of Romano.
I would disagree with the notion that Arsenal fans are impatient. We've been patient for 20 years. Not to mention the first few years of Arteta's reign. But I fear fans patience will dissolve pretty quickly if we fail to capitalise in this transfer window yet again.
@@m.d8434 it's not the last window in isolation, it's all the years from 2004 onwards were we failed to capitalize for many windows. The club has underperformed and fans feel like we could have done better
I love Arsenal but I make sure to keep myself busy every year as well. As much as I love them. They def do not get me stressed out. No title is guaranteed and it is tough not winning one last 2 seasons but we have seen enough progress with the team.
@@m.d8434 you are proving my point, if we invested in a "killer" striker then we would of turned them draws into wins and the losses into draws and we would be champions.
I still think Edu is quietly working to sign Bruno Guimaraes. If Newcastle are going to sign Marc Guehi they are most likely to sell Bruno than Gordon.
Of course there are a lot of the pics where players are blurred out and it may have been days they not in. Have you seen the stories that suggest we have to sell before we can buy.
Arteta doesn't get his way re merino if there's no PSR room to make the signing. People aren't taking PSR into account when they're discussing our transfer businesses. Arsenal is playing very close to the PSR line this summer.
There's only one possible reason for delaying the Merino bid & that is that we're actually close to signing another midfield target: the Mistery German™ Jamal Musiala! I can't see any other explanation. 🤷🏻♂️ 😬
I see PSR has come up as a possible hinderance to any future transfers in this window. I don’t believe that to be the case currently as it is our total financial picture not just incoming transfers fees against outgoing transfer fees. IMO.
Does all the fan backlash and complaining sound similar to the Califiori transfer? We are so impatient nowadays wanting everything yesterday…including our Arsenal transfer targets!😂
Hello everyone. Off topic, but I’m really desperate to get my little boy to his first Arsenal game this weekend. We would only be able to make the Lyon game but all the tickets have sold out. I have a membership, so I’d be able to receive the tickets, but if anyone can help me either to guide me to someone selling them or know someone who’s not going, can you please leave a reply to this comment. Thank you all. COYG❤️
Great content as always! Timber is a worry but Califiori not even featured yet so maybe just ill after the flight. I think people have been burned so much by the red tops over the years with clickbait Arsenal stories, so mistrust football journalists in general. This occasion with your context provided, it feels like Kaya’s article was maybe misjudged. Wasn’t this a similar scenario with Califiori, with Arteta persuading the board/hierarchy to permit the signing, that time due to Califiori injury record. I don’t really understand why he and Edu have to keep proving themselves in their recruitment? Also, do these stories if they pick up traction (when true) ever cast doubt in the player’s camp or conflict with what they have been told by Arteta, Edu, Garrick etc? Surely AFC reps aren’t saying yeah we want you to come here but we have to convince the board due to your age?! 😅 I know they’re not saying that and I’m being facetious but surely you see my point in essence.
@@TheGoonerTalkTV Tom, to clarify.. what I meant was people misjudged Kaya’s article and his genuine intentions, due to the above history of being manipulated and deceived by the media. Although Arsenal aren’t the biggest club in the world they do appear to have the largest social community/fan base and some other less sincere outlets tap into that anxious frenzy at times lol.
