I feel bad when I see ppl slating Eddie and saying horrible things. He has always given his very best when playing, never shirked pressing or trying to get into scoring positions, its just really simple - at this point in his career he isnt quite at the standard we need. Its nothing personal, he needs minutes, needs to play week in week out to see if he truly can develop into a top forward. Arsenal gave him enough chances I feel, he had periods esp when Jesus was out to make that position his own and he didnt quite take it. Maybe its a style thing, I think he could quite suit Palace and their counter attacking style. I wish him the very best in his career, thank you Eddie.
I agree. It doesn’t have to be personal. He’s given all he could and unfortunately for both us and him, it’s just not been enough. That’s okay, that happens. If he leaves, I genuinely hope it’ll be to a club that suits his style and his skills much better.
One of the sausages who kept slating Eddie is Curtis Shaw. Rude guy who slates other players but can't take the slating from subscribers. He's just a loser.
This is a comment! And Tom part of me really wants Edu to just troll the Twitter-sphere and put a kit on Win the dog and then sit him on the bench and list him in the substitutes. Just so we can watch a certain type of person lose their marbles online. 😂
This is why 2 months ago fans were saying we need to buy someone in the forward line, not necessarily a striker so we now dont have to get a injury prone cast off which we’re going to have to likely do now. It was so obvious we didn’t have enough quality depth in the forward line which includes Jesus who we all know cannot stay fit and should not have been relied upon despite his promising pre season
Hi Tom, My point was never meant as a hot take in regards to needing a forward, that’s blindingly obvious,, my point was more in regards to the timing making a solid move for a forward which in my opinion should have been done earlier due to, as mentioned it’s an underwhelming loan option or being set inflated prices due to the need of bringing in a forward player this late in the window.. Yes I’m sure we’ve been looking but we’ve likely left it too late to give us enough time to get the right player. For me a forward was an of equal importance as a midfielder due to the lack of games Jesus provides and the poor form of Martinelli. Great show, keep up the good work
I think it was Elliot on the Arsenal Vision podcast who made the great point that we dont need to sign another world beating talent the same way we didnt when we signed Trossard, but like Trossard we just need another forward to come in who can make a difference and is at the sufficient quality to affect a match and Chiesa is certainly that. He isnt going to be that transformative player, I think he has lost a yard of pace, he isnt the absolutely electric winger in short spaces like Coman is (despite so many injuries, fair play to Coman) but Chiesa and Coman both have that fantastic attitude of always looking to beat players, they always want to take on their man and create something. I dont think either of them would score many for us, but would certainly provide ammo for other players. Ive always liked Coman, he is absolutely electric but his constant injuries seriously worry me. I also dont think he will press as well as Chiesa from what Ive seen of the 2. But for me id go a little bonkers: put in for a cheeky bid on Mitoma (might unsettle Brighton b4 we play them) or go all in with a bid for Kudus and see what happens.
Trossard is the best example ever to other players on the bench and young players coming through, when it comes to grabbing your opportunity by the throat and showing the manager you deserve minutes. Nelson is right behind him in that, both giving it 110% whenever they are brought on.
@thegoonertalkTV Tom, you’re kinda right with the name Bruges and Brugge, a bit like you said Basque Country the other day. Bruges and Basque are both French pronunciations whereas Brugge is the Flemish pronunciation and Pais Vaisco is the native pronunciation of the area that surrounds San Sebastián (Basque) I’ve been to both and highly recommend visiting.
Hey Tom, well done on finding a couple of options! Not sure about the list of injuries though, MA maybe had too much of injuries by now (Partey, Tomi, Tierney, Jesus, Smith Rowe, etc) and will avoid anyone with a history of injuries?
Buzzing to see edu get his sales done tbh, deserves great credit But I think if we are sitting here saying we don’t think arsenal can/will pay 50 mill of an attacker is available is mental to me. I appreciate that opinion, but if we can’t do that do we need to evaluate what’s realistic expectations cause I can’t see it being enough for 1st. Our gaffer has been talking about X factor, forward efficiency for a while, would be a real shame.
Kudos to Tom for the subtle early oasis reference - but with Merino in does this mean Edu's master plan is coming together little by little? Or will he be saying to Arsenal fans, "don't look back in anger" over this window? (Sorry)
Yup. Trossard at CF and Reiss at LW but we are crying out for another FW. Just saw a fan pic with Sterling at the Emirates. If that’s not a joke … hope like you said, it’s a loan
Good morning Tom and all, we can only hope/ expect that Edu has a trick up his sleeve… not sure I can see 2/3 out and 1 in within 3 days though… not judging on how long it normally takes us to do a deal. Let’s see
I wonder if we are set to sign someone but who we can sign depends on getting Nketiah out first. I think we need to wait u till 11pm on Friday before judging. There's so much negativity around. We have got rid of players who don't play. 2-3 decent players coming in who contribute is great. 2 down, maybe 1 more to go. COYG.
The look on Trossard’s face after his goal on Saturday worries me. He just looked pissed off and didn’t care who saw it. I suppose he wants to start over Martinelli, not an unrealistic position to take based on the scoring recently.
What’s the word Mockingbird ? Morning Tom! Well, we have Merino in the shirt!!! Patino and Vieira out the door. Nketiah soon to follow. Kingsley Coman and Federico Chiesa are names being kicked about on the edges.
The clamour for a striker is sort of baffling when the need for another option on the right is supercedes the need for a striker even though we need one dont think its even top 2 the back up goalie is #2 then the striker if possible
Tom I am dreading we will go for sterling as a last resort forward option, I think he is finished at top level and will be another Willian. Would you take him over noone though?
A part of me wonders if for some the optics of being able to fight toe to toe with the biggest clubs on a window over window basis kinda matters more than the reality of the window as it stands on some level and how that relates to the hurt that had to come with seeing chelsea and city win with the sort of rosters they were able to accumulate as a symbol that we are no longer in the famine period. also i kind of wonder how much of the verbiage of arsenal being city's best challengers has created an expectation among some for us to operate in the way they have in terms of depth at cost instantaneously cause of some correlation between on field and off field progress being able to grow at the same rate regardless of prior circumstances. just some late night musing and not opinions i hold
People panic too much, we don't have the BS squad we had 5 years or more ago. This team is different and we are only adding more quality to it and none of this 6 out 6 in nonsense, this team had the quality to get within 2 points of a title against a power house city last season and we have already added to it Calafiori - Merino (once complete) that is 2 weaker positions in the starting 11 improved (not to mention adding Timber back - Partey back which have great quality too) What will be will be but chill out, we stacked, we good (I do expect us to get a forward player and if not, we still have the quality to go and win it - Stop Living in the Past).
I feel for you Tom with the amount of chumps that you have pop up on YOUR channel giving you senseless crap. Just remember the majority of us are behind you and are thankful for the work you do!
Seems like we are too late on chiesa train, Liverpool are in for him. Hope we go all IN for coman. Dont want sterling - a finished clelsea attacking player , major willian vibes
I don’t get the idea of selling Ramsdale. We we want to sell a great backup keeper for a loss and then spend that loss on another keeper who is a great back up at around 24-26 years old… so we are selling Ramsdale for a loss to buy another Ramsdale? Just makes no sense. Keep him and play him in cup games. Simple.
Semenyu the Bournemouth right sided attacker is the man we need….power, pace, an eye for goal, Premier League ready and won’t cost the Earth……good age as well. Go get him Edu!!!!
No surprise whatsoever at the low valuation for Federico Chiesa; he did his knee cruciate ligaments two seasons back and is no longer the same player that he was.
For all people criticising Tom is sad, he is only given his own opinion or thoughts and they might be right or wrong or you just totally disgree. BUT that's same as everyone. Also whatever is said has NO impact on Arsenal decisions. ? Do people really think their don't want a striker but they have to manage the squad, finances etc ..
@@TheGoonerTalkTV Saying one of the best strikers in the world isn't good enough for Arsenal is just shocking. I'm not sure you've properly considered what this particular player brings to the team apart from goals. He's a menace that allows your wingers thrive. The intensity. The aggressiveness. Especially in a team that sometimes plays cautious, his pace complements the likes of Saka and I bet you their numbers will shoot up. He brings so much fear factor and constitutes so much nuisance for others to flourish. Counting goals doesn't tell the full story about this striker, even though he does score goals. Infact, he will easily give 25+ in this Arsenal team. The team needs a more active and aggressive NO9 like him who's forceful, direct, pacy, relentless, great in the air and can occupy CBs. Even Nketiah was lowkey thriving to some extent in that system because he was a bit different and direct, so I'm shocked you think Osimhen isn't good enough. I understand his wages may be a problem, and also his injury history, but 65m is fair. I don't know what you mean by not being good enough, maybe you can share who you think is good enough and what you think Osimhen lacks. I respect your opinion but I may need to understand it.
@@TheGoonerTalkTV I will have to disagree.. Havertz definitely wouldn't generate the number of chances he would generate for himself in this Arsenal side. Havertz may be more technical but Osimhen is more forceful and provides much more scenarios for his team mates to supply him or exploit for themselves. He will force the matter. There's just a solid structure behind the Arsenal forward line that his movement, smartness, power and aggression will provide different options for. His numbers can be deceptive because when you consider the fact that he doesn't take penalties like other No.9s, and he has been unlucky with injuries, the numbers are good. The 1 season Napoli was good enough and he was injury free, it was 26 goals in the league without penalties. We all know Arsenal is going to be consistently good enough and considerably better than Napoli. Having a super confident relentless striker like him will be a game changer. The problems I see are his wages and the possibility of injury (he has only ever played >30 league games once). Definitely not ability.
@@felixahiase4234How can you disagree with a fact! 😅 Havertz has better numbers, whether you like it or not. All you’ve done is repeat the same things over and over …lol
The year is 2076. The world is a shattered ruin. The Tories have brought in the robotic head of Rishi Sunak, the war with Skynet continues apace, and there is hope that Merino will be announced as an arsenal signing within the next few days.
