I enjoy all of your videos, Jessica, but this one really reached my soul. The entire time I felt like I was in Paris with you and Hope . . . walking along having a deep conversation and cherishing the scenery. As my husband and I grow older, we are slowing down our lives as much as possible to savor every minute together. We travel slowly and we live slowly and we are having a slow holiday season. We are not scurrying around shopping or partying. We are taking care of ourselves and we are tucking into our home to enjoy a slow intentional celebration of the holidays. And we are thankful for every moment together. Your Vlogmas videos have been enlightening and informative. Thank you for preparing them and sharing them. I feel like you’ve had a huge shift in energy. You seem very happy at the moment and your confidence is the highest I’ve seen in all of your videos. I’d say you have either found your groove, found someone to groove with or perhaps Paris has just really made such a big impact on your life. Either way, it’s nice to see the positive energy and I’m glad to see you happy and settling in there.
Such a beautiful ending to a beautiful series. I was fortunate enough to meet Beth Kirby. She was still very young and hadn’t even started what she became known for, but she was vivacious and the creativity was bursting out of her. I am taking it slow this Christmas and seeing what unfolds. I don't feel the pressure of previous years. Yes my children are in their 30's and I adore my grandchildren but I am not competitive with time and love to cook and once I have my tree I am happy. I have the gifts and have done the postal cards and feel blessed as a dear friend of mine passed away this time last year from cancer. I remember her and feel lucky that I have health.

What a joy that was, a lovely finish to this series 😊 Slow Christmas…I adore the time between Xmas and new year … I plan absolutely nothing.. do whatever I want to do each day, read and reflect during this cocooning stage of the year. I feel the dark and cold is so helpful for being inwardly focused so we have time to see what’s deeper in our mind so we can notice and then draw that to the surface for the year ahead. I really relate to your comments about making space for slow living. I am intentionally creating space for connecting to all of myself for healing. However exactly as you’ve explained, this means reframing many of life’s expectations when eg saying no, challenging FOMO and embracing JOMO (joy of missing out and doing less). I’m not an expert writer but I am writing my story of healing with the guidance of a book writing course and they too mentioned the importance of killing our ‘darlings’ when editing our writing and I love how you apply this to living too. I have discovered your blog three or four years ago. I saw your evolution and you have truly helped me to feel happier during Christmas times. You are so right: slow and simple is much more difficult than loud and complicated and busy. I think I sent you the name of a song a couple months ago but I am not sure. What you said gave me an “ah-hah” moment. You said that slow living or a slow Christmas has to be created. I never thought of it as a creative process. I just thought, simplicity should be simple, right? But no, it takes effort to create simplicity. It takes mindfulness and energy to create the home and life you want to live. Thanks.
