I am going through the new version of the Art of Argument very slowly with my 12 yr old. We will take 2 years to complete it. She wanted to study logical fallacies. The new version is in color and has more graphics to help with conceptualization of how the fallacies relate to each other. I am also planning on adding fallacy detective to help solidify the concepts- we have been going so slowly that that we haven’t even got to the first fallacy yet!
I think social media has created a situation where people feel emboldened to say things online that they would never say to you face to face. The screen provides a shield and people say its their right to free speech but there are limits to free speech
I really enjoy your videos and your strong opinions! There’s been quite a few things I don’t agree with you on in your previous videos but I really enjoy listening to your differing ideas, how you present things, and an occasional very nicely placed cuss word! 😂 I agree that people should learn how to argue/debate without fighting, I feel like we’d be in a much better place now if this had been part of our education collectively.
